It was either because of the Cuphead or Bendy And The Ink Machine games having that same sort of old-fashioned cartoon style. Probably it was Bendy And The Ink Machine since in the game Joey Drew Studios had financial difficulties and so did Flicher Brothers Studios because of their competition being Walt Disney Studios and how the cartoons from the struggling Studios had a more occult theme than their competitors. It was a cool video and it would explain it better than I can just from memory.

Betty Boop is based off of a real person, so I think trying to capture her makeup look translates better than trying to straight up paint yourself like the character. I think both ways work though, this is just more aesthetically pleasing.

Betty Boop was my nickname when I was a teenager, I had the huge eyes & super-long lashes - even without mascara they touched my eyelids right below my eyebrows or rubbed against sunglasses. I seriously took those lashes for granted, now they're normal length & I miss them. Lol Enjoy your youth, ladies!
