- Queens in New York City is the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world. If each of New York City's boroughs were an independent city, Queens also would be the nation's fourth most populous, after Los Angeles in California, Chicago in Illinois and Brooklyn.
Queens is the easternmost and largest in area of the five boroughs of New York City. It is geographically adjacent to the borough of Brooklyn at the southwestern end of Long Island and to Nassau County farther east on Long Island; in addition, Queens shares water borders with the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx. Coterminous with Queens County since 1899, the borough of Queens is the second-largest in population (after Brooklyn), with a census-estimated 2,358,582 residents in 2017, approximately 48% of them foreign-born. Queens County also is the second-most populous county in the U.S. state of New York, behind the neighboring borough of Brooklyn, which is coterminous with Kings County. Queens is the fourth-most densely populated county among New York City's boroughs, as well as in the United States.
Queens has the most diversified economy of the five boroughs of New York City. It is home to JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. These airports are among the world's busiest, in turn giving Queens the busiest airspace in the United States. Landmarks in Queens include Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Citi Field (home to the New York Mets baseball team), the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (site of the US Open tennis tournament), Kaufman Astoria Studios, Silvercup Studios, and Aqueduct Racetrack. The borough has diverse housing, ranging from high-rise apartment buildings in the urban areas of western and central Queens, such as Jackson Heights, Flushing, Astoria, and Long Island City, to somewhat more suburban neighborhoods in the eastern part of the borough, including Little Neck, Douglaston, and Bayside.
Queens Boulevard is a major thoroughfare in the New York City borough of Queens connecting Midtown Manhattan, via the Queensboro Bridge, to Jamaica. The combination of Queens Boulevard's immense width, heavy automobile traffic, and thriving commercial scene made it the most dangerous thoroughfare in New York City by the 1990s.
In Popular Culture
In the HBO original series, Entourage, main character Vince stars in a fictional film named Queens Boulevard in which he is able to identify with the source material as an original resident of New York.
In the movie Coming to America, the address of McDowell's restaurant is 85-07 Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst, which was formerly a Wendy's fast food restaurant but is now a new housing development.
Dukes Boulevard in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV is based on Queens Boulevard.
A short-lived sitcom entitled 13 Queens Boulevard, aired on ABC-TV in 1979.
On The Mindy Project Morgan says to Dr. Lahiri that if it weren't for her, he'd be "working at the fake Popeye's on Queens Boulevard".
In the movie Cruel Intentions, the main character of Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Philippe) is seen driving along Queens Boulevard in the beginning credits.
In the movie Goodfellas, the character Morrie owns a wig shop located at 26 Queens Boulevard.
In the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tony Stark mentions Queens Boulevard to his driver Happy.

Are you watching on a TV? My preferred method! I use the UA-cam App and cast to a flatscreen using a Google Chromecast device. How do you watch?
ua-cam.com/video/TlR9Y8Gn1Ig/v-deo.html
I watch on my Galaxy Tab S 10.5. I have a Chromecast but my TV's resolution is just 720p.
But since the last 1 year I am unable to watch your videos in 1440p even though my tablet supports that resolution. I am limited to 1080p.
After some research I found that UA-cam stores any resolution higher than 1080p in WebM format. Resolutions of 1080p and lower are in WebM as well as MP4.
Maybe this change caused the bug in UA-cam App limiting the users to 1080p even though their tablets support higher resolution
I watching your video in my smartphone
Watching it on my desktop monitor. I usually watch it on my 49 inch screen tv mostly through Roku and sometimes with my Chromecast. I truly enjoy watching the videos! Even though i'm laying on the couch here in the heart of the midwest/Rustbelt Metro-Detroit but when I watched the video as well as the others I feel like i'm in the passenger seat riding around and even catch myself fussing at the screen about somebody cutting someone off in traffic. Lol. Keep up the good work!
exactly what i m doing ^^
J Utah, I watch your videos on my Huawei tablet. Suppose you could do Hawaii next? Don't forget Modesto and Santa Barbara!
I am 90 - born 1933 in Queens - Lived in Jackson Heights till 1968 - Moved Upstate - It looks the same but alot has changed - Great Video - Have Kids and Grandkids in Long Island City and The City - Great Video Thankyou
I miss Queens. Lived there 31 years. I remember taking this route on Queens Boulevard. I'm getting emotional and teary-eyed watching this.
Why did you move?
@@JCastell1953 ☺ My family moved out of Queens and I followed my family NOT immediately but eventually some years later. My life in Queens was NO longer the same after my family, friends, classmates, neighbors, neighborhood acquaintances either left/moved or died. Queens was NO longer the same for me. But God bless Queens. Queens has a lot to offer the new up and coming generations.
I feel the same! I'm in Philly at the moment but since I left NYC in 2017 I've been homesick 🥲 but it's not the same anymore. Overpriced, gentrified & apartments aren't a decent size for the amount of rent they charge 😑
@@Incogn3gr0e ☺ Thanks for the feedback and acknowledgment. Your input is appreciated. 👍👌😀
I grew up in Astoria then Washington Heights and now I am back in Elmhurst. Never liked this area but now it’s very nice. I love the diversity and the nice restaurants and cafés. Come and visit get a shot of Queens under your belt. You’ll leave with a lot of good energy. But you were blessed wherever you are.
That was amazing .Never been to USA , but it felt like I was drivining there . I might go to Queens to live there some day
You’re willing to pay 1500 dollars for a shitty studio ? Or maybe more lmao
You’re willing to pay 1500 dollars for a shitty studio ? Or maybe more lmao
I lived in NYC The Bronx queens is shitty 2.
@Eileen Belserion Now I haven't been to NYC but unless you make a lot of money I wouldn't recommend moving there. And they have state taxes in NY and also I wouldn't recommend California most expensive state to live in NY is second place and they both have state taxes.
Me too
Please when your going take me with you😔please🙏
If these blocky buildings were bright brown or white, Queens will look a bit like some typical russian or eastern european city :) Queens and Bronx are probably the most russian like boroughs because of their architecture :)
Funny how similar we (and our buildings) are :)
wow thats dope its nice you noticed that never thought about that, that makes sense why hip hop group Onyx when they tour in Russia says we feel like in home
@@CamisBeats yeah well they even made a song with Croatian rapper Stoka you should check it out
DAMN!! You are good!! WOW!! You drove from Long Island City to Union Turnpike. LOL. Thanks for this. Queens is HUGE. You were on the northern side of Queens. I live on the southeast part of Queens(closer to Long Island)., You were driving along Queens Blvd.( which is long as hell). You took the long local route. For a minute, I was expecting you to drive onto Hillside Ave.. Lol.
I appreciate that! :) I love the high rises. And vividly remember seeing them for the first time on the way to the airport. Fascinating how diverse this area is! I’d love to film more of Queens again! Let me know if you have suggestions for areas the channel would like to see :)
J Utah I sure will!! Your videos are great. It’s realistic and just shows everyday life. You driving in that part of Queens reminds me of how I drive(along that route).
onlychildtonia67 facts Queens Blvd long as hell. I walked it once
Steph Curry The G.O.A.T 😂😂😂. God bless you. I know your feet was hurting like hell afterwards.
@@jutah How big is Queens? Is it the biggest Borough in New York City
I LOVE these driving videos. Seriously, I can’t thank you enough for uploading these. Not only is it interesting and informative in a way to see the places you’re at, but it also helps me see what the driving environment is like (especially since I am a driving beginner). I live in LA and when I watched your LA videos, i felt much more focused and at ease driving though LA because i wasn’t so distracted looking at all the shops and signs... instead I watched your video and got to experience it through there first haha
Nice new video! You see as much as possible in as little time as possible! Please continue like this! New York is always an eye-catcher! Thanks for the video!
Beautiful very clean city 👍🏻
It's called a Borough...
Thinking bout moving to New York someday for sure 🔥 wouldn’t mind a stay in queens or Brooklyn ♾💯
I’ve never been to New York, I’ve never been to America at all, and I don’t know why I’ve gotten into watching all these types of videos! 😂 but I have, and I’m loving them! I’m certainly seeing a lot more of New York than what I’d see if I went there! Great job 👌🏻😀
I love the aesthetic
A good image distinguishes a good job, congratulations. 🇺🇸
LR Guerra yes queens is not a nice place to live Manhattan is much better.
This is where I was born but I moved to Texas and have never seen this place. Pretty cool I get to view it now
Wow man nyc is very beautiful except people, their attitude, their style, subway, roads, and overall experience really very beautiful.
moving to queens tomorrow from upstate, 2 hour drive. anxious but i got this
When you passed that White Castle at 43rd St...That was homecoming for me....grew up around the corner...also you forgot to mention the short-lived NBC sitcom Sunnyside...set in that community
wow queens new york Brooklyn nice J utha
익숙한 동네라 그런지 기분이 좋아지네요. 추억이 몽글몽글. 묘한느낌
Thank you so much for your videos, as if I myself visited all these cities. This is a very useful video for those people who do not have the opportunity to visit and ever see with their own eyes these beautiful cities. Could you make a video of New York during the Christmas period, when beautiful lights and luminous decorations are all around?
I usually pass by that route whenever we are going home.
You did not mention "The King Of Queens" in your description of Queens in Popular Culture! That show embodied Queens and NYC working-class life like no other! Love this part of NYC, can't wait to travel to Queens one day
I didnt know that was based in Queens! Did not make the connection :D Its a very unique part of NYC. Enjoy your travels when you go!
And speaking of sitcoms took place in Queens, there was only one TV sitcom that it was short lived and it was 40 years when that sitcom was cancelled after 9 episodes. It was from 1979, and the name of the show is “13 Queens Blvd.” with Jerry Van Dyke. It was a typical NYC sitcom, but it’s not! Look what happened during the opening sequence. It was first shot in NYC which was showing Manhattan and the RFK (Triborough) Bridge, along with the LIE. And then, out of nowhere, it goes out west to Los Angeles where Park La Brea apartments is located for the show’s opening. That was where “13 Queens Blvd.” took place. When I went to Google Maps, I went through research, and I went to see the real 13 Queens Blvd., and guess what! Nothing! It’s just an LIRR station which is located where the Subway underpass is and not far from the Ed Koch/59th Street Bridge. That was not a location used in “13 Queens Blvd.” and I thought it was a sitcom that took place in Queens, but it wasn’t. Here is the show’s intro from 40 years ago.

Thank you! Great relaxing video! Unreal Quality visually and audio wise. Thank you again
Been there so many times I love this area. At the beginning of the video you are in the Sunny Side area. Lovely peaceful area. What date and time is this?
I love NY !!!
looks a lot like Bolton England Uk
In middle school I walked from 3:50 to 15:04 right where he bus is the to right. Took about two hours, and I did that when I was 12 oof
Hi J. As always enjoyed this amazing and relaxing video. I do have a suggestion which I think would be awesome. I know it isn't very easy to film overseas, but some cities here in Australia have amazing routes. Like the Gold Coast, Australia basically another version of Malibu with massive skyscrapers. You could drive along an isolated desert road. I think it would be really cool if you filmed in some international countries.
Hey D! I appreciate the feedback :) Love the ideas. I should be in London and Paris shortly. Would also love to come film in Australia. One day I hope :) Cheers!
J Utah Can’t wait for some London/Paris videos!! Sorry for the late reply, been too busy watching your other videos :)
Where's Spider-Man?

My dream ❣❣
Queens Boulevard is notoriously dangerous for pedestrians. The traffic moves relatively fast, cars will be making turns from awkward angles, and the service drives add even more width to walk across.
This video also shows the enormous size of the Queens borough. You only made it to I-678 / Van Wyck, which is barely half across the borough from QB. From here, it will be another half hour to get to Nassau County - Long Island.
*Yes, Queens is technically a part of Long Island. But, Long Island begins at Nassau County for New Yorkers.
Do Detroit next time love your videos
Dream Girl Detroit? Lol, not much to see there
@@TheStatisfiedOne depends on how you look at it...
He already has Detroit videos.

@J Utah excellent video. What camera do you use for your videos?
Is this a good borough to live in? Trying to decide between Chicago and NYC.
its huge. lots of options
17:33 Used to work in that office building
imagine just swinging there
You are the real king of Queens ;-)
No mate😂👎
Great video. How many houses are in this area? I only saw one in this video. With New York City, the whole city seems like the downtown of any other North American city.
Dwayne Wladyka he was on queens blvd the whole time. Once u exit queens blvd it gets suburby same with Brooklyn. In Staten Island the whole thing is a suburb
New York City has plenty of houses and Suburban type areas. He just wasn't driving in those in places.
gotta love NY traffic
Seus vídeos são muito bom, da hora.

Idk why but youtube recommend me this video on a 7 train
While you were on the 7 Train in Queens? Did it send you a notification? Very interested to hear back!
When I saw bikers wheeling there last month, I was very surprised because I had watched those only UA-cam.
13:00 Coming to America Mcdowels location (Mcdonald's)
Super dope video! I'm thinking about doing something like this except maybe a drive into Long Island? Cool Idea.
Is that, spider man?!
Was The Sopranos filmed here?
zeppelin1qaz I don’t know. But I know the fact that “13 Queens Blvd.” was a sitcom that it was short lived, and it was never took place in Queens, it was in the Park La Brea apartments in Los Angeles, CA instead of Queens. Looks like they picked a wrong location for a show that are not NYC.
Next time Forest hills New York USA
Pllz do in shopping malls and stores..🙇♂️🙇♂️
💖💖
don't forget canadian cities
canada is a shitthole
@@geesi9645 ouch
Oh, I like this. But I want to see people crossing the crosswalk. You do not have to delete it.
I really like american cities especially NYC. However they should renew the empty suburbs across the City and make it more alive with restaurants, shopping malls, sport accomodation etc. That Will also provide more job opportunity and less crime and poverty
But if they establish all kinds of commerce, restaurants, stores etc etc in areas with high crime rate well... if i was a business owner i wouldn't want to set my store in an area with high crime rate. Specially by the ghetto areas...
Except NYC already has a lot of suburban areas, restuarant and shopping malls...
Красиво! Спасибо большое!
All my life i will be driving home to you.
18:50 What the hell is he doing? Black Toyota?
My uncle lives in queens
I Saw Ghost’s black Escalade
Never a fan of red brick buildings. It so dull looking and outdated. It needs some splash of colors to liven things up and make Queens more attractive.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a damned traffic jam allover ! For living in NYC you have to be extremely patient
Nice video, but queens is very depressing
Try Brooklyn!! Oh lord
