0:56, there isn’t much of a problem with that though, playstation is made for high quality video games but Nintendo switch is its whole own console with its own unique games, which takes a lot of effort first of all and second of all, it’s made to be a handheld console which is pretty impressive that it can get to the levels of a ps4 pro and isn’t made to directly compete with things like PlayStation and Xbox which focuses on raw power and high performance graphics while the switch is also made to be more affordable and focuses on portability and versatility. I don’t understand why everyone always looks on the negatives when Nintendo are being smart.
I don't think Switch 2 is a bad name, I think it's a boring one. The Super NES existed in a time when people weren't so comfortable with the 5-7 year lifespan of a console but it sold pretty good. Nintendo has never had normal names, they were always tied with the gimmick of the console. From what we know the closest thing to a gimmick the new console has is the potential for more peripherals with the two USB C ports and potential for gui to appear on the handheld screen instead of the main one. Even with this I still think there could be a more creative name. Even the 3DS has a more interesting name because of the 3D and DS combination. Playstation hasn't relied some much on gimmicks and their names are straightforward, that's in their favor because they're the only ones doing it.

Dude, they've been asking for a new nintendo console for how long? 3 years? And they FINALLY got the tiniest bit of info, AND THEY THROW A TANTRUM ABOUT IT???
All the leaks for the Switch so far are exactly what I wanted from them. Just make a more powerful switch and make sure it is distinctly understood that it is the successor by marking it with a 2, just like SONY does with Playstation.
The fans called it switched 2 for a while but knowing Nintendo's perspective they would have called it New Nintendo Switch or Super Nintendo Switch which would be my personal favorite name for it
My thoughts on it, just indifferent. I’d personally prefer it if Nintendo shot down the leakers claiming that the “Nintendo Switch Successor’s” actual name being “Nintendo Switch 2” and have it named something different and unique, one I thought of is “Nintendo Connect”. Because based on the “rumors” claiming that the new Joy-Cons for their next console would be magnetic, I thought naming it “Connect” could easily fit into the console’s gimmick/theme. I don’t trust any recent leaks about Nintendo’s products/software, no matter how reliable they are, and just wait until official word comes out from Nintendo themselves.
I think everyone is mad that it seems to legit be called the switch 2. Seems to be a win in my opinion. Why change what has worked so well the past almost 8 years??
To me, I feel like the name is perfectly fine. But the logo to me feels kinda wack, it's more corporate than the fun family company we all know. For me, seeing a giant 2 in Ariel Font plastered next to the logo just doesn't feel normal for Nintendo. In my opinion I think they should make one side of the dock have joycons while the other side having a pro controller logo to show the 2 different styles of play.
The Wii U, Switch and Switch 2 are iterative stepping stones toward what I call the Ultimate Nintendo Ubiquity Project. On the best possible timeline, the Switch 3, which I believe will be the final entry in the Switch family of systems, will be a true revolution in display technology and immersion.
I know that just slapping a giant 2 next to the Switch logo seems lazy, but I don't mind it. I don't love it, but that's literally what it is, a direct successor to the Switch. Besides, haven't people just been calling it the Switch 2 this whole time?
Also, I don't agree with people saying that is bad because it's as powerful as the PS4. Realism is nice, but it can become incredibly boring after some time. The less powerful hardware encourages developers to create more stylized art-styles. I also think that people would rather buy a game that looks beautifully stylized than a hyper-realistic game that's barely different from other games of that style.
@@MinerMarioWe called it the Switch 2 because that's the only thing we could have called it this entire time. And now that it seems that Switch 2 will be the name, it just feels a little lazy since Nintendo is never that obvious with their naming scheme
Fun fact, did you know I made a switch 2 design? My design has two screens like the DS and a broad back some things on the 3DS like miiverse, the eShop bag,and lots more it also has the Mario maker 2 soundtrack as a bios soundtrack
idk why ppl are hating the name and the logo rememer the old days ppl tought the wii and wii U is the same its just good form Nintendo that the name is switch 2
PS2 is a name that makes sense and I can see why Nintendo went with “Switch 2”, but I think people expected more creativity from Nintendo. Especially went it comes to the name of the console and logo. Like they didn’t name the DS successors “Nintendo DS 2 or “Nintendo DS 3” it was DSi, 3DS, and 2DS even. Same with Gameboy(Gameboy Advanced, not Gameboy 2), or the NES(Super Nintendo Entertainment System, not NES 2). Even the logos weren’t 100% the same with the NES to SNES, they were uniquely different from each other. Yet the SNES was a more powerful NES(as many of you know), same with the Switch 2 being a more powerful Switch. “Super” isn’t that hard to comprehend after all. They could’ve named it “Nintendo Switch Ultra” or something, something a bit more creative. I think that’s what people were expecting.
Switch Ultra might cause the same confusion as the Wii U people might think it’s the same system just with a few minor changes like Switch Oled and not buy it because they have a Switch at home. Having the 2 signals a new generation.
The idea that a handheld in 2025 will be as powerful as a PS5 is ridiculous. It's much harder to put that kind of power into a handheld than a traditional console due to the size and the fact that it needs to be portable and run without being plugged in. It's pretty amazing that they could match a PS4 Pro under these conditions.
The joycons are gonna use magnets to attach to the conole instead of the rails so i think it should be called the nintendo slap because it is like you slap it to the console.
Software the only thing to worry about? You can even message your friends you add, and you can’t even in house voice chat. You have to use your phone and still it’s only for a select few games. They could’ve at least added discord on the switch. Nintendos always behind on something.
What baffles me is that people have no other important things in their lives that they have to complain and waste energy on the new name of the Switch.
It’s clearly not If you actually watched this whole video the whole reason was to let us all know that we shouldn’t be worried that its not going to be a WIIU situation

The Super Switch having the SS initials could be a problem because it makes people think of boats and then it could be related to the Titanic because it was a boat
I like the name Switch 2, but the logo is lazy, it's just the Switch logo with a 2 slapped on it, maybe make the 2 bigger and maybe tilted to make it a bit more appealing but, this works, it's straight forward, that's good but I wish they did a little bit more with the 2 in the logo.
Here's what I think happened: Everyone on the internet was calling it Switch 2 so Nintendo probably thought if they call it that there'll be no way that a Wii U situation would happen
The only importance of the name of the next console is that it makes it obvious to everybody that it is a new, separate console and not an accessory or attachment to the Switch 1. The console could be called “Nintendo Console” or “Nintendo Mega Ultra Magneto Switch Pro Max” for all I care, I care about games and performance a heck of a lot more.
@minecrat4456 No they're not. PlayStation already established the numbering as their thing unlike Nintendo which tend to have unique names for their systems so them numbering the Switch 2 comes off as lazy and not very Nintendo like
@@ichadpromax Oh yeah right they lazily put a number 2, that's how they are mad about. Looks like the original but WITH a number 2. Where's the outrage coming from?!

I actually like the name "Switch 2" it's simple and lets you know it's the next generation system. Hopefully, they keep that name.
1:14 wait a min, Mario kart X, oh wait that means another Mario kart game is coming out in 2025.
I think everyone is mad that it seems to legit be called the switch 2. Seems to be a win in my opinion. Why change what has worked so well the past almost 8 years??
Bro I just want a switch 2
The logo isn't even that bad
To me, I feel like the name is perfectly fine. But the logo to me feels kinda wack, it's more corporate than the fun family company we all know. For me, seeing a giant 2 in Ariel Font plastered next to the logo just doesn't feel normal for Nintendo. In my opinion I think they should make one side of the dock have joycons while the other side having a pro controller logo to show the 2 different styles of play.
Also DS had MANY ITERATIONS
DS
DSi
3DS
2DS
new 3DS
new 2DS
Also, the launch titles that I think will be on the switch 2 will be,
Splatoon 4,Mario maker 3,a new kirby game,Mario kart 9,and a gameboy collection
idk why ppl are hating the name and the logo rememer the old days ppl tought the wii and wii U is the same its just good form Nintendo that the name is switch 2
Super Switch -> SS. Nintendo doesn’t want to be associated with that. Go figure
What about Switch Prime? It could possibly get the point across the same way.
Who is everyone? A few loud people on x?
they should call it the switch flip and it would be a mix of the samsung flip and a nintendo switch
The idea that a handheld in 2025 will be as powerful as a PS5 is ridiculous. It's much harder to put that kind of power into a handheld than a traditional console due to the size and the fact that it needs to be portable and run without being plugged in. It's pretty amazing that they could match a PS4 Pro under these conditions.
how would you let the name ruin your day like that? thats so dumb who cares about the name just play the games you like...
Nintendos always behind on something.
you need to use discord for voice chat
@ I already do, I use it for Mario party daily, However that shouldn’t be the go to because Nintendo and their lack of effort on the social side.
Discord shouldn't be it's own app on the next Switch, though. Also, the app is kind of sketchy at the moment.
What baffles me is that people have no other important things in their lives that they have to complain and waste energy on the new name of the Switch.
It’s like the WiiU situation
It’s clearly not
If you actually watched this whole video the whole reason was to let us all know that we shouldn’t be worried that its not going to be a WIIU situation
how?
clearly wiiu is called the wii2
@@Yoshizuyuner:The Wii U flopped because its branding confused people into thinking it was just an add-on for the Wii. Calling it the ‘Switch 2’ avoids that confusion entirely
it’s simple, clear, and shows it’s the next-gen Switch. Not every name needs to reinvent the wheel.”
@@Yoshizuyuner "Wii 2" would have alleviated some of the initial confusion compared to "Wii U"
I just hope switch game cards work on the switch 2.
The Super Switch having the SS initials could be a problem because it makes people think of boats and then it could be related to the Titanic because it was a boat
I think your forgetting that the switch is supposed to be a handheld
Bros onto nothing!🙌🤣 What are you yapping about?
Bro really thought he had a point 💀
Yeah, because everyone knows numbers can't be applied to things that are portable.
Blud cooked when no one was hungry 💀
it's supposed to be a hybrid
People complain to much I’m just happy we finally get another console
i honestly dont care about the name. I WANT TO PLAY THE GAMESSSS
The problem is Nintendo has NEVER called a system “2” before. They have always been original with the names.
True but remember the switch 2 is still a nintendow switch so Nintendo likely doesn't want the logo to deviate too far away from the original.
Yeah if they didn’t make it clearly the second version of the same console we might have had a WiiU situation
Let’s wait for the colors and motion design before complaining
Hope this isn't the final name when It releases
Wait until these types of people figure out Play Station’s naming convention
fans: tHe nAmE nInTeNdO sWiTcH 2 sUcKs! wHy nOt sUpEr sWiTcH?!?!?
wii u:
Can’t wait to see that message for switch 6
Here's what I think happened:
Everyone on the internet was calling it Switch 2 so Nintendo probably thought if they call it that there'll be no way that a Wii U situation would happen
People say switch 2 name sucks when there’s ps2
Are they going to add tabs to their cartridges now like the 3DS cartridges?
The only importance of the name of the next console is that it makes it obvious to everybody that it is a new, separate console and not an accessory or attachment to the Switch 1. The console could be called “Nintendo Console” or “Nintendo Mega Ultra Magneto Switch Pro Max” for all I care, I care about games and performance a heck of a lot more.
Pretty crazy how people aren’t gonna buy a console because ITS NAME IS A CERTAIN WAY
it's just not like nintendo to name it that
Nintendo 64 was a much less inspired name TBH.
2027: ayy let's goo we got the Nintendo Switch 3
For me I think the switch 2 logo looks find but I think the 2 by the joy cons look nice
"I am a simple man. I see Switch 2, I click" -Everyone (probably)
I mean the PlayStation did it, and how come no one hates those names, PlayStation 2,3,4,5
Its good strategy if you tell me
That's what I'd like to know! Where was the outrage then????
What? There was no outrage because PlayStation established an pattern and naming convention that they'd use! Bad comparison
YEAH! How do fans hate the Switch 2 more than the PlayStation 2-5? Edit: PlayStation did the numbering and improving, HOW come THEY never hated that?
@minecrat4456
No they're not.
Where's the outrage coming from?!
wait? what! i thought they love nintendo switch 2!?!
I thought so to,I'm so confused
If Nintendo makes something innovative and gimmicky up, it would probably be VR,
The Switch is peak design on all regards.
You can find people spouting opinions for everything online, i'm not sure why this video exists. There isn't much backlash against the Switch 2 name, in fact, a straightforward iterative naming came up pretty frequently online prior to its confirmation.
So you found some tweets from a hurt PS fanboy and some people wanting Switch U instead. ok?
Somebody said it!
Everyone has called NINTENDO SWITCH 2 du😏
Idk why people are complaining, a switch with the power of a ps4 pro sounds exactly what I wanted
I hope they add an little extra personality to the name such as Switch 2 together reffering you 2 can play together in the same console better than before.
It would be better if they named it, “Super Nintendo Switch”.
Still lame.. that sounds like an Iphone name lol
That would require creativity which Nintendo doesn't have
@@chiquita683 Nintendo is the only console and game manufacturer that still has creativity
