This so true!!!! As a former atheist and criminal/drug addict I have found that it is so much easier for me and other addicts I know to accept that we need a savior than for say, someone who grew up in church or who had had a relatively steady, secular upbringing. I had a lot of horrible experiences prior to finding Christ but I am so grateful for all of that suffering because it is a reminder of what God did for me and how much I need Him.
I remember sitting in my church pew as a pastor talked about these sins that people commit, my mind was immediately drawn to that person across the aisle from me who I knew was a hypocrite in that way. Finally, one of those times.... Jesus finally got through to me and said you are the man! You were the one who were doing exactly what you're accusing someone else of doing. I was shocked! The Lord reminded me that the sermon was for me and not the man or woman sitting across from me. I was The Sinner and the failure and the hypocrite. I simply had to look so that I can see the plank in my own eye. It's amazing how much the sermons became relevant to my life after that.
Thank you Frank. An excellent explanation of understanding why people are where they are. I am guilty of judging others with a “holier than thou” mentality.
This came at a time when I was doubting if I’d make as a Christian. Raised by a mother critical of everyone, I fight and often lose the fight against my upbringing but I see my need for Christ every single minute as I fight my thoughts. My husband’s mother said he was born such a positive and helpful child (he has brothers and sisters who aren’t like him so it has nothing to do with parenting)and often thought maybe my salvation wasn’t real. I’m definitely changed from before but will never measure up to my husband. It helped so much hearing CS Lewis’ take. I’ve been sick with the pain, fatigue and neuropathy that often prevents sleep from an immune system collapse for over 38 years and it’s a fight every day to keep a good and kind outlook. But I will keep up the fight. If anyone isn’t affected by feeling poorly all the time praise God! If anyone could say a prayer for my fight against my health and upbringing Id sure appreciate it. I’m praying every day but some days I feel so bad it’s hard to pray. Thank you very much Mr Turek.
It’s hard living a life following Christ. If it isn’t, If people don’t make fun of you, if you don’t struggle with sin, you aren’t doing it right. Jesus loves us unconditionally. What a blessing. Keep following Him. Politics and all the rest is a distraction. God is truth.
Yes! Great point. Do not be distracted or deceived by this world. We are in it, but not of it. We are soldiers in a spiritual war, therefore we are not supposed to concern ourselves with civilian affairs.
What ? If people don’t make fun of you you’re not following Christ correctly? SMH. Surround yourself with people who also believe in Christ and follow him and you won’t get made fun of. Also, Jesus very much involved himself in politics so avoiding politics isn’t the best advice. Get Frank’s books “Legislating Morality” & “Correct Not Politically Correct”. Educate yourself on the matter of politics and you’ll change your mind. We avoid politics long enough and we won’t have any rights to spread the gospel.
@@billbills7158. Yes, I would ask those who say Christians should not involve themselves in politics: would you rather that your town mayor, your state representative, your president, etc be a Christian or an atheist?
@@billbills7158It is true that the world and its people hate Christ and His people. People do mock and scoff at those living a Christian life. Now, we are told to live a blameless life as we rely on Christ to help us with that, so that people can scoff but find nothing to truly accuse us of. And when I say mock or hate Christians, I mean those who hate the idea of Jesus Christ. People love the idea of some of the Christian values and yet so many hate Jesus Christ. The values we hold to and are from God, people like. But they think just doing those good things will make them good. Only Jesus Christ makes us righteous.
This is an excellent podcast edition. Lewis provides a lot of food for thought here. His point about each of us, alone, having to stand before Judgement - is well made. We will be asked to account for our own behaviour, God help us, on that day.
@skippy675 Judgement awaits everyone who has been born and lived Those babies murdered through abortion cannot provide an account for their behaviour. They have not been born and have not lived. Therefore they do not face Judgement. Their "parents" face Judgement and they will have to account for that behaviour and for all other behaviours throughout their lives. Young children, children born and who have lived, but who have died at a young age - they too will face Judgement. Given the relative shortness of their lives, it is reasonable to guess that Judgement will be benevolent. Everyone born in this life will face Judgement. Make no mistake in thinking otherwise. Instead try your very best to live a life behaving in full conformance with the 10 Commandments.
@@skippy675 Direct answer to your question. God would know, since God would have all propositional knowledge, which of the unborn/aborted children or children that died in ignorance _would have_ chosen God's offer of reconciliation. This would also apply to all that never heard the gospel. That judgement/decision would "literally" be made through Jesus (if the scripture is true). If God exists, and if you can't trust God, then any worrying you do about that today won't make any difference in the long run. So as seamus advises, we need to be ready for the account that WE will one day have to give and trust that God would do the right thing for all others.
@mattr.1887 To know that something is incorrect and botched, presupposes that what is actually correct is known. It's like saying "the teacher tried to teach that 2+2=5". We know that 2+2=5 is incorrect because we know 2+2=4 is correct instead. So to know that something is botched or incorrect, presupposes that we know what is correct.
Years ago, before my church went social justice, my pastor taught on this! It was so helpful then, and thank you for explaining this so clearly now! I needed to hear this!!
In the first question of "Most Christians look just like the rest of the world, and why arn't more christians transformed?" I can testify that I grew up christian and believed in God, but then in my 20s I was living a completely sinful life. I was immoral, selfish and prideful. I then went through a breakup and turned back to God in my suffering. And in my brokenness I surrendered for God to help me. I then started reading the word every day, and devoured the new testament in a month. The living word completely penatrated my heart. And I felt the real presence of the Holy Spirit. It took about 4-6 weeks to fully see all my sinful ways and turn away from them. Now I cherish purity, and serving others. Completely opposite of how I was. Transformation is real when someone finally surrenders to God and allows the Holy Spirit to guide them through the word.
Such a great testimony! I truly believe for a soul to be saved that someone, some Believer, must pray for that person. If that is true, you can know that someone in your life loves you so much that they were praying for you. Even when you were at your darkest and lowest point in life. Someone in your life prayed to God, "God I love Christina so much. Please save her soul!" Amen. And now, you can do the same and pray for others to enter the kingdom of God with you. I just love John chapter 17 where Jesus is praying for his disciples. Praying to God for their salvation and endurance to the end. This is how we must pray for those we love.
@@kevinerose My mom and I started praying and fasting once a month for our family, our country, and sometimes for people in the comments section! I agree, prayer is powerful.
I am glad you managed to turn things around. I do always find the reasoning behind quotes such as this: "Transformation is real when someone finally surrenders to God and allows the Holy Spirit to guide them through the word." to be somewhat questionable though.
@Christina6552 Perhaps I am wrong, but the general suggestion is that if one truly wants to find God, be saved, experience the Holy Spirit etc, then all they have to do is truly sincerely wish for that to happen, and surrender themselves to it?
I needed this,, sometimes I look at my own life and I get discouraged in my faith.. but I have to remember I am in the sanctification process and I can't put my eyes on myself but onto Jesus in order to change and to keep advancing in the sanctification process.

As a Christian we are perfect in the sight of God. However we should be becoming who we already are in Christ Jesus. Hopefully as we make a habit of prayer and studying God's Word we are becoming transformed into the image of Christ.
You forgot the biggest problem are the people making the comparisons....they are judging by their own standards and assume the conditions of a person's heart.

Non Christians judge constantly on something they don't even believe in. Make that make sense 18 For the [a]message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God

Its almost like these people haven't read the Bible and seen the constant struggle. But on a worldwide view, Christianity has done and continues to do tremendous good for thr world. Education, medical treatment, orphanages, homeless shelters, missionary work, charity. Christians are by and large more loving. We can pray for the souls of people, but the fallen that comment here and elsewhere are lost and destined for the lake of fire. You are a Godly man to care for the lost my brother. Deconstruction isn't the issue. It's the person who does so. Are they doing it to figure out history are they doing it to answer questions are they doing it because they stopped believing, it's all up to the person doing it. I was an Agnostic, and I started deconstructing various religions and history to figure out what happened in the past. I ended up on Christianity with everything. I was then deconstructing Christianity and while doing so made me fall into it more and more eventually following it. So its not about deconstruction it's about the person doing so and for what purpose. Imo if you already have that many questions, and are in the faith, go to a clergy leader for questions. If you can't get an answer, go to one who can give you an answer. Humans don't know everything; you'll eventually find a clergy leader who knows the answer to your questions. Outside of that, if you locked in with God, follow the book, ignore all the other Christians who you see as hypocrites. Follow the word and only the word and keep it pushing, at the end of the day you not the one punishing them for not following the word, that will be God.
There's an obvious omission that this man's wife used as her excuse to leave Christianity. Her own behaviors. It's easy to blame other people of hypocrisy and ignore her own. Let's examine her life. She'd better be flawless if she's going to point fingers at others for not being perfect. Not to mention the fact that we don't become Christians by following other people's behavior, so there's no reason to walk away from God for it. It's Jesus who we believe in, surrender to, and follow. It's likely she's a religious Sunday goer and is leaving in favor of her pride and other sinful beliefs of this world because there's an over abundance of hypocrisy to be found everywhere else. Jesus said, "there is only one who is good and that is God." It's impossible to expect perfection from anyone less, especially when she isn't either and never will be. That's a unrealistic burden that none of us can live up to.
@@Theo_Skeptomai rational? I think if you are using the behaviors of others as an objection to the gospel then that is not rational. If you have DOUBTS that is another story and can be addressed.
@@mattslater2603 ohh, I did not understand the term rational, but I’m assuming we are all adults who don’t need to resort to unkind name calling. We must remember that just because we are not face to face that we can have discourse as if we are face to face. Unfortunately this type of platform takes away the humanity of people .
Your ministry has been a tremendous blessing to me, thank you. Out of everything you teach I have only found one thing I disagree with which is pretty good lol. I would like to give you a verse to look at it's on the topic we disagree on, the age of the earth. In Exodus chapter 20:11, God wrote it with HIS finger into stone.
I think this is a really important discussion. The characterization of the "poor" is thought provoking. That seems so obvious in hindsight. But I'm afraid I might just wish it to be so.
I believe The Lord wants us to love Him because of who He is. He is the creator and sustainer of all things. If we truly understand who He is, we then will understand who we are. That we are nothing and He is everything. Jesus said "without me ye could do nothing." We need Him, He don't need us. Understanding that develops gratitude, and humility. And when we humble ourselves to Him, He will exalt us. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. We no longer walk after the flesh but after the Spirit. This is the transformation, by faith in Him.

The problem with the "Jordan analogy" is JESUS is our standard and we evaluate the believer based on how closely their life resembles CHRIST's- period.
"The Bible doesn't say that you are going to become perfect when you become a Christian." So I'm curious what is the best interpretation of “No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.” 1 John 3:6-10
In my opinion the people who believe that Christians are no better than anyone else may not reach that conclusion based on a comprehensive review of the situation. Some of them likely have a few specific Christians in mind who disappointed them... On a broader scale I believe that while some fall short, and some are just Christians in name only, if a society is sufficiently permeated by Christianity and its values, it's like a Midas Touch.
God is the only arbiter and final judge of what 'better people' means. Moreover, approval by the world means naught to a follower of Christ. "If the world hates you remember that it first hated me". "If you belonged to the world it would have loved you as its own but as it is I have chosen you out of the world". That the world doesn't view Christians as "better people" can be taken as reassuring. In any case, Christians are reassured that, even though they falter, they are washed in the precious blood of the Lamb.

I never walk away from Jesus. I walked away from churches. When were kids you had many friends. Churches only care about themselves. If they love people period, than why don't they take care of believers?
Of course we should all act better. We KNOW we are incapable of earning Heaven so we accept the sacrifice Jesus made for us. That makes us perfect in HIS sight, but not in people's sight. Are we hypocrites? Yes, but so is everyone else. Be humble, learn from your mistakes, and remember that even Paul and Peter fussed at times.
Even Paul proclaimed that he does what he would not to do and doesn't do the things that he knows he should do. He proclaims himself a hypocrite! In addition to this he tells us that he has prayers that also didn't get answered in the way that he would have liked. Instead God tells him my grace is sufficient for thee. I love to tell people who are judging the hypocrisy of Christians that they should come and show us how the right way is to live since they know better! We'll see how that works out...
@AdamFontenet-k8jwhat was Paul talking about in Romans 7:15-20 if not the hypocrisy all followers of Christ face since we are attempting to live up to a perfect ideal (the example laid out by Jesus) we will never be able to fully achieve in this mortal shell? What else could Paul have possibly been writing about in that section?
@AdamFontenet-k8jbe careful placing Paul on a pedestal. That’s a form of idolatry. He was an imperfect sinner just me and you. If your spirit wants to do one thing and your flesh does the opposite, what would you call that?
@AdamFontenet-k8jI didn’t say you were an idolator. I said to be careful because saying Paul wasn’t a hypocrite, just like the rest of us imperfect sinners saved by grace who attempt to live up to the standard Christ set, would be idolatry. Human nature is not submissive to God and to the Spirit. Live by the Spirit, so you don’t gratify the desires of the flesh. This is very difficult to do every day! The other factor is most “Christians” are followers of Christ in name only. I’ve been guilty of this myself but I’m doing better
Many people CLAIM to be Christian but do not read the Bible, follow the Bible, follow the teachings of Christ, etc. If you do not believe God's word, then you are not a Christian. Yes, we still sin but do not live in intentional/voluntary sin.
Assuming that you meant 'relate' and the Holocaust you refer to is the attempted destruction of the European Jews by the Third Reich, what is it that you are asking? Personally, whilst the majority of my understanding of the Holocaust came from what we were taught in school and what history I have read, I also am of an age and a background that I knew people very directly affected by it, both as victims, complete with numbers tattooed on their arm, and liberators, I knew a man who arrived at Belsen a couple of days after it was liberated. Christian or otherwise, we must always strive to prevent such events, we have, during my lifetime, failed, and that is to our eternal shame.
@@harryfaber Thank you for your response, correction accepted. Back in 1945 I watched the cinema Newsreels showing our troops releasing those survivors. Given the above If not, why not.?
What happened to the scriptures that talk about not being a stumbling block? What happened to? Shall we continue in seeing that Grace May bound? God forbid. What happened to holy for the Lord and holy and holiness without shall no man see the Lord? Faults are one thing, but hypocrite on purpose just to say that we are falling creatures? This is another issue with a Calvinistic perspective. If your belief system is such that you have been taught that all unregenerate only do evil continually (and take that 100% literally) then you will likely be stumbled by the reality that some display an innate understanding of the natural law we all intrinsically recognize. Even if it is selfishly pragmatic, we have to all recognize that the unregenerate, whether by the grace of God or otherwise, do some good things.
Jesus wasn't "nice" but he was "good". Sometimes being" good" is ugly and the unrighteous aren't going to like it. Some people were trespassing on my neighbors property. I confronted them, I was firm in my reprimand that they needed to leave. They were angry, defensive. Told me I was a Karen and not nice. They weren't hurting anything so I needed to mind my own business. My neighbors however appreciated I was not worried about being "nice" and instead was a "good" neighbor who looked out for their interests.
If A christian as a christian is judged as a bad; then what of that same person without the love of God in them? How horrible would they be without God. So it seems, for all we know, this is as good as that one gets.
I'm always amazed/confused at people who won't vote for a candidate because of that candidates Christian-based policies yet complain about the world when a nonChristian-based candidate becomes president.
I understand the human comparison of Turek to Jordan: the raw materials aren’t there for everyone to be a great basketball player. But, is Holy Spirit confined to our human raw materials and limitations? God can’t work a miracle there? I think it’s fair to assume that if Christianity is true, you should see an overall change in the community that is better than the rest of the world. But, we don’t.
Now, back to the comment I had in mind...LOL. It is our sin nature that makes us less than He who we follow. If you are expecting perfect people, or a perfect world, you won't see it until we are in the kingdom. This world contains some not nice people who are saved, and some nice people like Dennis Prager, who are NOT saved. That's how God constructed this reality. He is schooling us, without us having to stand in the corner.
Even if you are perfect as Romans 2:14 as an unbeliever you need Christ to access eternal life, but beware a grace IS merited, only doers of the law are justified.
Salvation is instantaneous. Sanctification is a process. One that will never be complete where flesh covers bone. All flesh must die or be changed in the twinkling of an eye. Just as there is no such thing as being a little bit pregnant, There is no such thing as being a little bit born again. We're all Gods creation. But not everyone is a child of God. Multitudes are Christian in name only. John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Of eternal life Jesus says and few there be who find it. Be one!
Amen. Agreed. We don’t walk a line of salvation. Repentance is a process too. If your eyes are set on the prize, you are going in the right direction. Grace and mercy must be key of being a Christian, even for yourself. Be well.
@@1new-man Sanctification has been misunderstood as being a process of growth. It is not. Sanctified, holy and saint are all 3 translated from just one word, άγιος. If we are a saint or holy (set apart for God) immediately upon salvation, then we are also sanctified immediately. You will notice that Jesus sanctified Himself. Does that mean He had to go through a process? The NT writers always talks about Christians as sanctified, a completed action or state of affairs. That state of affairs never changes since Jesus never loses any that the Father gives Him...since that state of affairs is sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. In Hebrews, Heb 10:14 for example, some translations have "being sanctified" and this looks like a process is going on. This is a poor translation. Τhe word αγιαζόμενους is accurately "sanctified ones". It is in the past tense...completed. Since the NT identifies many that are sanctified (completed, in the past tense) and if it was a process, then there should be some written criteria for showing us how we can identify when we've achieved that state. Yes, we do go through a growth process. It is called a growth process or just being mature (Phil 1:6). And true, it won't be complete while living in this segment of our lives on the earth. On the rest of what you said, I agree with you 10,000%. Bless you brother.
Same here! Thanks for sharing
Uhhh how do you know the lord did that... and not your own brain?
What's your evidence for that?
@@mattslater2603 Why doesn't it occur to you?
Thank you Frank. An excellent explanation of understanding why people are where they are. I am guilty of judging others with a “holier than thou” mentality.
This came at a time when I was doubting if I’d make as a Christian. Raised by a mother critical of everyone, I fight and often lose the fight against my upbringing but I see my need for Christ every single minute as I fight my thoughts. My husband’s mother said he was born such a positive and helpful child
(he has brothers and sisters who aren’t like him so it has nothing to do with parenting)and often thought maybe my salvation wasn’t real. If anyone could
say a prayer for my fight against my health and upbringing Id sure appreciate it. I’m praying every day but some days I feel so bad it’s hard to pray. Thank you very much Mr Turek.
I'm talking to our students about this next service, thanks for this! Perfect timing!
Youre a true Godly man Frank! I work toward being this on fire ! 🔥🫡👏🏻👊🙏❤️
@@TEMPESTsonofThunder....this is exactly how cults operate to keep their members insular.
@skippy675
Judgement awaits everyone who has been born and lived
Those babies murdered through abortion cannot provide an account for their behaviour.
What about those who heard the gospel, but didn't properly understand it? Or heard a botched version of it?
@mattr.1887 To know that something is incorrect and botched, presupposes that what is actually correct is known.
It's like saying "the teacher tried to teach that 2+2=5". We know that 2+2=5 is incorrect because we know 2+2=4 is correct instead.
So to know that something is botched or incorrect, presupposes that we know what is correct.

Very well explained and answered. Thanks and God bless Frank
God bless you as well!
I do always find the reasoning behind quotes such as this:
"Transformation is real when someone finally surrenders to God and allows the Holy Spirit to guide them through the word."
to be somewhat questionable though.
@@kinggenius930 Why is it questionable? And have you tried it?
@Christina6552 Perhaps I am wrong, but the general suggestion is that if one truly wants to find God, be saved, experience the Holy Spirit etc, then all they have to do is truly sincerely wish for that to happen, and surrender themselves to it?
Thank you for answering these questions!!! It also gives me information to better respond to others with the same question!

So I'm curious what is the best interpretation of
“No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.”
1 John 3:6-10
Paul said he still struggled with sin
The moral of the story is to keep up with your piano lessons.
I think it's more like read your Bible until you have a biblical worldview.

Concerning CS Lewis... being in adultery...he married a divorced woman...if her first spouse was still living then according to Jesus CS Lewis was sadly in adultery..
But i can't find when her spouse passed so i don't know if CS Lewis was in adultery...
And i believe if you thought that you wouldn't be quoting him...
She was Davidmans third wife.
He cheated on her many times including with her cousin.
Joy was davidmans third wife

Did Paul have bipolar disorder?
@AdamFontenet-k8jis that poorly veiled ad hom supposed to answer my direct question?
@AdamFontenet-k8jI didn’t say you were an idolator. I said to be careful because saying Paul wasn’t a hypocrite, just like the rest of us imperfect sinners saved by grace who attempt to live up to the standard Christ set, would be idolatry.
Doubling down on the pointless personal insults instead of engaging with the topic?🤷♂️Alright then. God bless you.
Frank. Cannot you practice and prep beforehand the questions you read online that were emailed. I wanted to share your video, but the mumbling stumbling and tripping over
content from approx 1min to approx 11min15sec could be better delivered if you'd simply enlarge then printout the emailed question, then maybe underline important parts.
You can do better. Anyway, I have recommended you to speak at two churches and shared your contact info, some sample youtube presentations and the link to your history
of speaking engagements and youtube videos. I like your work, but today's 1min to 11min15sec section (which I wanted to share), is a bit unpractaced/unprepared. David.
So if I remember that I'm at every moment dependant on God, then will it be okay to make me rich?😉 But seriously, I've found the hardest trials to be that of health conditions, and chronic ones at that. It's super duper frustrating when the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak and sick, but I would never let it keep me from crying out and depending on our sweet God and Savior, Jesus Christ Yashua Hamashiach and the truth thereof 🙏
How do Christianity elate to the "Holocaust"?
Christian teaching tells us that the Bible is the word of God. The Bible tells us that God kills his enemy’s, Numbers ch.1 is a good example. Presumably The Holocaust is another example.
So when are we going to live to saved life?
Pure Christian Nationalism
Just as there is no such thing as being a little bit pregnant,
There is no such thing as being a little bit born again.
Be well.
@@CCitis Ah, no, our eyes should not be set on 'the prize' but on Christ. We should be doing God's will without any regard to any reward.
Are you willing to answer some straightforward questions concerning your comment?
@@harryfaber Christ is the prize!
