Adam you provide a wealth of information in your videos. I've installed Sumos on two of my rigs. Rear Solo Blues on my 2024 Canyon to alleviate squat while towing my boat. They keep the truck level even with 600 lbs of tongue weight and reduce rear end bounce at hwy speeds. Installing the Rebel 2 piece Blues up front and Maxim Yellows on the rear of my 2023 Tiffin Open Road F53 chassis motor home has really improved the ride and handling, they work hand in hand with the anti sway bars reducing body roll as well as soften harsh road inputs to the leaf spring suspension. The coach stays noticeably flatter through the corners which makes it a heckuva lot more enjoyable to drive.
I've installed the blue variant on both my Tacoma and Tundra pickups. In both cases I added Sumo springs for a task-specific purposes, which they've worked great for. The unloaded ride is unaffected, at least as far as I can tell. I highly recommend them!
I have installed the black sumos on a 8900lb 36 foot travel trailer and it has made an incredible difference, the sway, bumps and swings have improved tremendously . I have the timbrens on my 1500 Silverado , timbrens are way more ridgid when not loaded.. ..
I have a 2018 Tacoma crew cab long bed. I have a fiberglass canopy and a C4 rear high clearance bumper with swing out with my spare tire mounted to it year round. Daily driver few times a year I tow a trailer with a couple quads in it loaded with camping / hunting gear between the truck and trailer. Should I go with blue ? Or black ? 1:10 Thank you 👍
How did the front Sumos improve the ride, control etc. I have the blues on the rear of my Nissan Titan, but have been thinking of adding the fronts too. Thx!
Adam, outstanding video and outstanding product. Thanks for your professional customer service and now producing camper summos which will definitely lessen the earthquake tremor to the structure of the camper while in tow.
Wish you made a blue rear kit for ram 2500. The black ones are too stiff for everyday. They’re great with the crawler hauler hooked up but man they are stiff when I’m not towing. I called and tried to get some shorter springs or something to swap in and they won’t sell parts just full kits. Thinking about cutting them down but they’re so expensive. I would like to get some blue ones to swap in and try them.
My 2019 4runner sags 3 inches with a 320lb tongue weight from my 3200lb single axle 18 foot camper. I think black is the way to go for my upcoming 4 months on the road. Thoughts appreciated. Looks like a great product...just hoping to choose the best option...."daily ride comfort" is not a concern for me. Thanks.
Hi there. We would have to agree with you that the Black SumoSprings would be the best bet especially considering your upcoming 4 months on the road towing that camper! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your trip! #JourneyBetter 😎
Just purchased the blue set for my 2012 Tacoma. Just looking for a little support when I tow our 3000 lbs camper. I can’t believe I never heard of you guys until today!
Adam, thanks for the video, I have been considering your springs for my Alfa Gold fifth wheel. Weighs about 11,500. Fairly heavy. In doing my research I came across a video on youtube from “downsizing makes cents”. The title is “are they taking our home away, totaled”. They have a bent frame on a solitude fifth wheel, and while getting it looked at at texas trailers they point to the sumo spring as the reason. They don’t say if the trailer is massively overloaded or anything like that so we don’t know but it does give me pause. If you have a minute and can look at their video for feedback. The video is about 3 weeks old as of my comment. And they are implicating sumo so might be worth you looking at. Thanks for your time. the assessment starts about 8 minutes in. Guy
I have a 2021 Newmar Baystar Motorhome 3609 and, last year, I had Suma Springs installed on the front and back. S 17340-2 SF - 17340-2 on the front and SSR - 18754-1 on the rear. The ride is WAY worse! We’ve had door problems , cabinet hardware torn off and other issues. They were installed at National Indoor RV centers in Louisville. I’ve been working with them and they say there’s nothing they can do. We have owned multiple RVs for more than 30 years and we’ve never had such a bad ride. This is the newest and most expensive coach we’ve ever owned and we now worry about other issues that might be going on that we can’t see. What can we do?
I have both timbren and sumo springs.. timbrens on my 1500 are definitely stiffer and handle more overload applications, 4 sumos on my 36' camper to help with the sway and bumpy ride. The stiffer they are they more they handle the load, sumo compresses a lot compared to timbren so it can be a softer ride. Both of these have made it possible to tow such a large camper with a 1500 but your truck will take a beating even with all this tech. 1500 just not made for the application i was putting it through , upgraded to a 2500..
Thanks for your comment! I appreciate that you took the time to test different options and different applications. Are you considering getting SumoSprings on your 2500?

You should do a similar video for the three designs: - attached at only one end, so it hangs free when the suspension droops enough (Solo?) - attached at both ends, so it is always active (Maxim?) - separate top and bottom pieces which come together when the suspension compresses enough (Rebel?)
@@SuperSpringsInternational I will. I wanted to ask is there any issues with temperature extremes on the sumo springs. Such as hardening, cracking or becoming too soft? sometimes I’m working in -15, sometimes I’m working In 110.
@@mcciaccio That's a good question. We've burned our SumoSprings at over 3000 degrees then installed them on the truck and they performed just as well. SumoSprings perform normally all the way down to -22 degrees Fahrenheit. After that, they may rebound slightly slower.
Hey team! I drive an 2005 2WD Tundra. I mainly use it to tow a 1300lb aluminum trailer with a 2100lb car on there, but also like to drive the truck at least 6 times a month as a daily driver. I'd like to reduce the rear end squat when towing only for safety reasons. Blue or Black?
Yah I would go with the blue to maintain a good unloaded ride. If that doesn't work for you, we can switch out to the blacks. We have a 30 day money back guarantee! -Tom
Just asking which Sumo Spring I would need,. 22 f250 short box, 85% of the year it’s a daily driver, no load.15% of time it tows a 5W. About 5-7k a year. When loaded with the 5W. The front measures from the ground to bottom of fender above the tire measures 41” and when loaded 40 1/2”. The rear unloaded measures 42 1/2” and loaded 40”. Lights don’t shine in the trees and it rides good. No sway. Thank you
Durometer readings and density are completely different concepts. A durometer reads hardness (which, for an elastomer, suggests elastic modulus), and density is just the mass per unit volume.
SumoSprings utilize density as a key metric because it directly affects the performance characteristics of the material. The density of the microcellular urethane used in SumoSprings influences their ability to compress and rebound effectively, providing the right balance of support and cushioning for various loads and driving conditions. Unlike airbags or steel springs, SumoSprings' density is carefully engineered to deliver consistent performance over time, maintaining their shape and effectiveness even under heavy loads. This ensures that vehicles equipped with SumoSprings enjoy improved stability, reduced sway, and a smoother ride, making them a reliable and durable suspension enhancement option.
Would a change to Sump springs also need an adjustment in the camber setting? If we use the same setting on camber with the new springs could it possibly have an effect on early tire wear on the outside edge? We’ve installed Sumo springs about 3-4 years ago and love the changes it’s made in wobbly stability (we have a Sprinter Chassis Winnebago View 2017). However we’ve never been able to get over 25000 miles on a set of new front tires. No matter what we try we can’t find a shop to set the various things to make them work. It’s frustrating to keep changing tires and also not fun to get the choppy ride that comes with the tire wear on the outside.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with SumoSprings. We appreciate your loyalty to our product and are glad to hear about the positive changes it has brought to your vehicle's stability. Regarding your question about adjustments to the camber setting, while SumoSprings typically do not require adjustments to the camber setting, maintaining proper alignment is crucial for tire longevity and optimal performance. Using the same camber setting with the new springs may indeed have an effect on early tire wear on the outside edge, especially if your vehicle has experienced excessive tire wear in the past. We recommend consulting with a professional alignment specialist who can assess your specific situation and make any necessary adjustments to ensure proper alignment and tire wear. We understand the frustration of frequent tire changes and the discomfort of a choppy ride due to tire wear. We encourage you to seek out a reputable shop that specializes in alignment and suspension work to address these concerns comprehensively. If you need any further assistance or guidance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team. We're here to help ensure you get the most out of your SumoSprings experience. -Matt
Wish I would have waited and tried these. I have a Tacoma with icon rxt leafs(1.5” lift) and timberline bumps… I put a 50lb sand bag to help reduce chatter over bumps… the timberlines seem to bottom out hard over big dips on the streets…
I’ve got a Tacoma that gets worked hard. Constant load with racks tools drawers and a shell. Rarely ever empty. 3.5” x 2.75” lift stage III deavers and I can get them to sag a little lol. We wheel a lot and travel is also important. Would the blacks still be too dense?
We strongly discourage combining airbags with SumoSprings, as they tend to conflict. For optimal performance, it's recommended to use SumoSprings independently. Great question! -Matt
My truck has a lot of body roll as I’m driving on uneven roads, do you think think the blue springs would help reduce the body roll? I don’t plan on towing with that truck I just want a better ride quality.
how much of a gap should there be to be able to maintain somewhat factory unloaded ride but able enough for support when loaded. 2021 Chevy Trail Boss, blue sumo springs and currently installed with spacer giving me 1/4 inch gap when unloaded. 7500 gvwr TT. thanks
Thinking about sumo springs on my 2018 Jayco Redhawk 29xk with a ford E450. What springs would you recommend? Does that go according to max weight of motorhome?

Great looking product! My Hino dutro 4x4 3ton tare has very bouncy suspension front and back. Will SumoSpings x 4 stiffen up the bounce and add more stability and less recoil?
I have a Blue bird tc2000 Built out to an RV that i'm looking into improving the body roll, vibrations, and bounce of the factory springs. My rig weighed in at 23000k when we last went on a trip fully loaded. can the yellow springs support that kind of weight, or should I go with Timbrens for my application?
If for the trailer we have two options of springs - the BLUE one for 3000-5000 axles (TSS-107-40 spring over, TSS-106-47 spring under) - and the BLACK for 5000-8000 axles (TSS-107-47 spring over, TSS-106-47 spring under). You’d need the black. 👍🏼 -Adam

Hey Josh hope you get this message soon, I want to buy a set of these for my Nissan Titan 2005. I currently use it to pull a 18ft Food Trailer, but the back of my truck seems to lower everytime. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong I have a 2023 Tacoma. I purchased the front sumo springs, I raised the front wheels where totally hanging after removing the OEM, I didn’t have enough space to install the new ones.
Hi there! As noted in the instructions, if there is insufficient clearance to install the SumoSpring it may be necessary to unbolt the lower shock/strut mount and swaybar link and apply downward force on the tire. Once installed, reattach strut and swaybar and torque to manufacturers specification.
I am very interested in your product. My question is which color to buy. I have a 2002 E450 24 foot, 15 passenger shuttle bus. It is a RV conversion so there is a bed, shower, kitchen table, and storage cabinets. I dont believe the weight is any where near 15 passengers. Which color would you recommend for front and back to soften the harsh ride? A bump in the road is jarring and shakes everything around. It's awful.
I own a 2020 Jayco Motorhome F53 chassis. In November I purchased the rear yellow springs because of etrailers recommendation. My coach weighs 18,000 lbs. These are too stiff after 1 trip I don’t think this is wise to keep them on. I can’t afford new so is it possible to soften these with adding holes? Is this a good idea? Could you please help?
Hi there! If your F53 GVWR is 18k and you have a yellow rear kit, then it seems to me you have the incorrect part number for your setup. With an 18k GVWR you will need the blue kit for the rear which is softer for the lighter F53's. It is recommended to return the kit and order the correct part number. If you need assistance ordering the correct item, please contact our Customer Service team.
Which, if any, Sumo Spring might you suggest for a skoolie? I would think they’d work great on the shorter buses or a step van. But what about the longer buses, like 40’ long? Especially, gas operated buses as opposed to diesel? Or engine type factor into this?
We currrently don't have anything listed for buses. If you wanted to custom fit our SumoSprings onto your bus & had questions about it, it'd be best to ask our engineerings team directly at tech@supersprings.com. Thanks - Josh

Hi Alisan - really great question. Maybe we should do some specific vehicle videos on this because Jeeps are a little different. I’m got a 2019 4runner SR5 and I tow our small single axle camper with my family quite a bit in the spring and summer. Based on what I’m hearing you say, the blue would make the most sense. Right now as it sit my weight distribution hitch is nicely dialed in. My question is, would adding the blues change how I’d have to set my wdh? Of course is still want the hitch transferring weight to the front end of the suv and not just sitting on the sumos in the back. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
You might need to make a light adjustment on your WDH - but on mine for instance, it just smoothed out the ride and helped it ride more level in addition to the WDH. Blue is definitely the way to go on your setup. -Adam

Hi Jon - there's a couple options here. Of course, having SumoSprings is an option you want on there because that's what's going to give you the vibration reduction and damping. The kit for front and rear is the K-10-008. That includes the rear SumoSprings and the Coil SumoSprings for the front. In the front it's the CSS-1195 - a simple insert that is the same material as our rear solution. This is will solve the nosedive and side to side movement. If you think it's a real heavy build, we have a steel helper spring for the rear also. We're standard equipment on the Coachmen class B line and they use the steel on their transit since it's so heavy. That's the SSA43. You can also pair that with the SSR-121-40 in the rear to get the SumoSprings benefits and the support of the steel. Hope that helps. -Tom
@@SuperSpringsInternational Thanks for the reply. The Coachmen is actually what we have! It's really stable, but it would be nice to dampen the rear a little. (PS: after I posted this question, I found your video where you mention both together. Sorry if I posted the same question in two places.)

@@nooneidaho333 Super! Need to wait for warmer weather to install. @@jon8625 best I've seen is get as much load off as you can, and hand start it with a socket extender, then you can shimmy it out as the sumo will give quite a bit. Will take some pull but you wont hurt the SumoSprings.
Hey I really like this idea. I have a 2012 Tundra regular cab short box but it’s constantly loaded with at least 1000-1200lbs of overlanding kit. Ride height is fine at a stop, but it’s way to soft over dips at speed or when towing a trailer. Blue or black? Thanks in advance.
As a general rule of thumb, we pretty much always recommend the blue. This is going to give you the best support while not affecting your unloaded ride. Moving to a black (-47) or even yellow (-54) isn't the right application unless your pretty much constantly loaded. - Tom

Hopefully someone can reply and provide assistance. I have a 2006 tundra, and hauling a camper, roughly at 5000lbs. The vehicle is also a daily driver. I'm assuming I should go with the blue? Also, these replace or act just like an airbag or helper spring, correct?

@@SuperSpringsInternational thank you for the response. I was thinking, since the receiver side of the bump stop is just a flat surface, maybe I could drill a hole and bolt-on one of the available models. Seems like it would work
Adam you provide a wealth of information in your videos.
We love hearing this! Thanks for sharing - Josh
I have installed the black sumos on a 8900lb 36 foot travel trailer and it has made an incredible difference, the sway, bumps and swings have improved tremendously . I have the timbrens on my 1500 Silverado , timbrens are way more ridgid when not loaded.. ..

Guy
Hi, thanks for bringing that video to our attention. Feel free to check out the reply :) - Josh
If I have a sport bar and a bed cover, should I go with the blue, yellow or the black sumo springs?

The front measures from the ground to bottom of fender above the tire measures 41” and when loaded 40 1/2”. The rear unloaded measures 42 1/2” and loaded 40”. Is your truck a 4x4 or 4x2? For the front, I'd recommend the SSF-111-40. - Josh
Is there also a product for the front of the 2021 Transit van? PS: Just to confirm, it looks like on the Transit van I just replace the current bumpers.
