I took my first trip with my sumosprings and they’re amazing. I just kept thinking while driving, that it’s an absolute shame that people can’t experience what these feel like because if they could, they would buy them. I was reluctant because of the price but now, I will never own another travel trailer or 5th wheel that doesn’t have sumosprings on them. These are amazing on my 5th wheel.

Great job with the install and review. I've been considering these Sumo Springs for my 2022 Reflection 28BH. Looks like it will significantly improve the ride. We've had evidence of bouncing, shaking and movement with the stock suspension system.
The Sumo Springs have helped with the sway and turn dip on the tow vehicle, we have two shocks on each of the two independent suspension RV wheels. The Sumo Springs made my truck handle better but the ride is stiffer. When the RV is off the Sumo Springs disengage!
Thanks for showcasing the sumo springs, I have been on the fence about putting them on my Solitude as well, I've always thought the suspension was a bit springy. I think I'll get a set now. BTW, still no trailer lamp faults since the brake controller flash. There must have been another module that had an update available that Ford is not advertising.
Not a problem, we have come across some pretty rough roads in the NW and we are totally in love with the Sumo. And for the faults be glad, i am actually getting a new TCM installed tomorrow because we keep having issues. Future video coming...lol. Thank you again for watching.
After reading all the comments Herb brought up my question at which no one responded too. .....that is by adding this upgrade it seems to me it will increase the probability of a bent axle. I currently have one driver's side rear bent axle. Need to do more research.
Good to hear they worked out for you. I wanted to ask about the small monitor or screen you had attached to the windshield of your tow vehicle. Is that connected to a small camera in the back of your Rv or? Thanks.
Sorry it took so long to reply, I believe the monitor in question is our old rpm’s monitor that is to the left of me. We have since switched that out to a different model.
I know putting airbags on the rear axle of my truck made a huge difference in the porpoising. On first blush it would seem to me the Sumo’s on the trailer axles would as well. I bent an axle on my tt going over a cattle crossing with a very large lip. I wonder these bump stops would have helped or exasperated the situation. In other words are the leaf springs being hindered from absorbing the shock??
Tbh, we used the Sumos to save the wear and tare on the leaf springs. Bein as we have replaced them in 8 months. GD should never have put 7K axles under these big trailers, they should be 8k. So long story short, its a temp fix until we can get 8k's under it. The truck has bags on it. It has made the ride even better though.
@@HappyTailsRVing I agree on the axle sizing. Although I was more than safe on my axle weights, when I replaced mine I was going to replace both with higher rated ones but didn't want to buy two & fight alignment issues. My new trailer has even higher tolerances though since we boondock a lot.
It would be my guess the rubber Sumo device will have shredded your under insulation where it was making contact. Also I would guess the attachment screw making contact may have damaged the rubber of the sumo rubber. What has happened?
It may be camera illusion, but it looks like the bump stops are deforming the bed upward. Impact will increase the deformity. Is the bed designed to hold the trailers weight at these points?
Must be, i assure you there is no deformation in the frame from the bump stops. I will re watch to try and see where you are referring to. I am curious.
I think you're seeing where the gas line is screwed up to the underbelly. It makes it looks like everything is bending, but it's just from the gas being mounted.
@@WesDuncan Your probably right, Duncan. I have worked with U/W cameras for 40 years and we had a saying: “Cameras Lie”! … meaning that they didn’t always correctly show the actual condition.

It drastically improved the ride inside of the camper. As we stated we can't recommend them enough.
Our 2022 Jayco 310 NP 5th wheel came with Dexter axles, rated at 8K lbs.
The black Sumo Springs is a great add on👍

I've many installations on 5th wheels. Will they be of any benefit on a travel trailer?
I would say definitely. It would help regardless of the tow set up, IMO

Keep an eye on your frame where the sumo springs contacts .You are adding shock load to the frame
I have sumo springs on my tow vehicle.
We tried on our truck as well but didnt like the rebound, so we went back to bags.

@louishendricks-tv1sx we do keep an eye on the suspension religiously...lol after the issues we had on the solitude. So far all is good.
