    I make broth from every roast chicken we consume. Once i learned how to make it I don't think i could ever throw all that golden goodness away! I have a slightly different method but i get the same result as you and i freeze mine as well. I really like your tutorials by the way you do an excellent job! ps......thanks for the tip on those freezer containers!

    I couldn’t get chicken feet anywhere 😭 I’m using necks instead I hope it comes out as gelatinous! I’ve made the first part and it’s delicious thankyou for the recipe 🩷

    It’s beautiful broth. ❤I made some with cow tendons and cow bones and it has the satisfying jiggle too😅.

    Your stock looks great! Looks similar to the stocks I make at work. Quick tip on herbs and veggies. Put the mirepoix in at the last hour of cooking. Put the herbs in the last 15-20 minutes and just let them steep in the warm stock. Kinda similarly to how you make tea. That will preserve the herbaceous flavors far better than putting them in at the beginning and cooking them for 2+ hours

    TYSM ❤.
    If only the world system followed your detail technique, minimal errors 😉

    Could I convert my frozen chicken broth into chicken stock for canning , I save all my broth from boiling 10 pound bags for my dog food . May sound expensive way to feed them but at 5 to 6 dollars for 10 lbs of leg and thighs this is the healthier and less expensive way for us to feed them.
    Thank you 😊

    👋🏽 hello, a couple questions, how to you store this? Do you freeze this? Any idea how long it lasts when properly stored away? Also how do you store the chicken fat you took out at the end to be able to cook with it? :) thank you in advance

    • @wholefedhomestead
      @wholefedhomestead  8 місяців тому

      Yes, this gets frozen and will keep for at least a year probably more like 2 if frozen well/properly. The chicken fat I just keep in a container in the fridge and use within about 5 days.

    Have you ever tried to cook the bones until they are soft and run bones and some broth together in a blender? You would probably get even more nutrition.

      The bones will be soft and crumbly after the second cooking in the instant pot.

    I never boil a fresh chicken. I’d rather roast it and save the bones. Also, ginormous stock pot is super efficient when you have collected six carcasses.

    HEB sells chicken feet, backs, and necks. The perfect combo for bone broth and CHEAP!!!!
    Frankly, bone broth without at least 1 of these 3 Gems, just isn't chicken broth worth eating
