Once I had some time to sit with the new guitar (Type X from @KieselGuitarsTV) I came up with this riff rather quick. Decided to lay it down as a track. And what you see here is the first take of me improvising over it! I recorded a few takes but ended up liking the first one the best 😊
I always love capturing the spontaneity of the first few takes. I’ve always preferred that versus a well-rehearsed solo that (to me) sounds stale and “rehearsed”.
It doesn’t always work out for the best but it’s what I aim for! 😆

jamie i just watched one of your improvised solo videos month´s ago and immediately decided to go on your channel and watch some more of your content. i saw a few "lesson" videos and thought the way you show other guitar player how to improve is soooooo different and inspiring that i need to learn some of those. i did and i improved very well on my improvising skills. the other side: i improved soo much on my picking skills, my fingers got so much faster and playing on higher BPM is way more comfortable. Why not? If you know your scale and chords positions all over the fretboard, its just a matter of practice and picking out the notes you like.
