270km/h from 2.0l 4 cylinder engine, that's crazy and unthinkable on large scale from even few years ago.

The CLA and the CLA SB are probably the best "Baby-Benz" right now.
Also the CLA 45 engine is quite imppressive, even Lotus will use it on the new Emira.

Great review, maybe one thing, would also like to see the space and feeling when sitting in rear seats.
It's surprisingly spacious, also the space above your head is much better opposed to an A class for instance. In terms of comfort, it's comfortable, you can't expect anything else from Mercedes can you?

I am more amazed by the Škoda Combi, not even RS just easily cruising around 230km/h.
Yeah, why not. A regular 2.0 TDI with 190 HP or the 2.0 TSI is enough to go 230km/h when you floor it.
But then it's not that "easy cruising" but more squeezing it out.
You can do 230km/h even in a full size Van, for example I did 234km/h with a Mercedes V300d.
@@Jensgerbi fyi: Audi A4 2.0 TDI 200 PS/HP Quattro is limited at 210 km/h. Therefore good old days cars or Vmax chipped
@@Jensgerbi Yeah I tried a 240hp diesel Passat Variant and even at slight uphills it could keep itself pinned at the 260kmh electronic speed limiter. (supposed to be 250 but most with most Germans you hit the limiter at 260, that was also the case with a 540d I drove)

My CLA45 SB C117 went to 431 break hp with 639 Nm of torque after a simple stage one tune.
Get's a little hard getting all that power to the ground though, can't do a race start without spinning the back tires anymore :p

What a great Skoda
I have a 2021 Mercedes a45s and it used to have a lot of pops & bangs when i downshift or when i go to 4k rpm or higher while accelerating. But since a week or two ago it stopped producing pops & bangs when I release the throttle or when I downshift. Does anyone know why that is?
It still makes one pop when I upshift while applying throttle like it always used to do.
The new CLA 45 is better in every way, except the fire cracking exhaust in this old one without OPF 🔥
I would love to have this in the USA. This or a C63 Wagon.

I guess this car has very similar performance to my E55 AMG albeit doesn't sound as good. It's weird to see how a 2L engine can provide the same performance but here we are.

Do all cla45 models have launch control
I have the same year (2017) Gla 45, its a blast to drive. especially after the downpipe, intercooler, intake and heat exchanger upgrades. I havent tuned the ECU yet, but its already so much better. Its almost impossible to drive without speeding, and using the paddles. Honestly i beat mine so bad and it just asks for more. My front tires are missing chunks from our bad roads, and my personal attempt to be a rally driver. It has the crazy ability to just get to 150 from 100 like nothing. slow down, pass a car and boom 150+ again, with what seems like little effort.
If you have the means, I highly recommend it

How reliable are these engines?
The first CLA 45 and A45 had some trouble with the engine. No wonder actually. Don‘t know about the facelift or the current model tho.

Forged internals so the block is pretty solid but interior build quality let’s it down
I have been in a regular CLA and I was unimpressed by the build quality and the ride comfort. The cabin was shaking and rattling everywhere and the car didn’t feel stable at all at normal highway speeds (120-140kph)
Idk how is the case with the 45 version.
I can’t fault the E63 that I have had for a while, but it should be given that’s it was basically at double the price.
I have one (CLA 45) and everything you say is false in this case, you must have met a faulty one.
@@davidmitch44 I prefaced by stating that the car I have been in was a non-AMG, regular CLA. The interior was also littered with cheap, rough materials.

I am just appalled by how cheap the car feels considering it is actually not cheap at all. Ultimately, experiences vary from one person to the other, I don’t see a point in arguing about it.

idk seems pretty slow reaching max, my e450 has less power but is way quicker.
Sometimes I find it hard to believe that a turbocharged 4cyl is someones dreamcar🤷🏻♂️ but oke
