This was one the most beautiful movies I've ever seen in my life.
Yes, for me too
I was blown away by this film. Beautiful in its simplicity, yet clearly the work of a master
Great movie. Such a vibe Kaurismäki creates. The contrast between the mundane and 'humble' life of the characters and the longing for a romanticized and classical love reflected in the music choises throughout the movie. The characters, the hillariously dry and witty dialogues, the awkwardness in the interaction between the characters. I could go on. It's amazing.
I love the how humble the actors are, how honest they speak, how human they seem. watching the movie (and, later, this video), you can feel there must have been a great atmo shooting the piece. Thank you.
I loved it. No problems at all with the deadpan and dry humour as I've watched arthouse films and Brit TV before. I am amazed at how many emotions I felt during the film, and how it contrasts to the scarcity thereof from the characters. Most movies end in a predictable manner. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen to Holappa and whether they would speak again.
Mubi is on point with these indie movies! I just signed up and immediately watched Fallen leaves since I heard so many great reviews. Super charming film! Can’t wait to watch more! So many hidden gems.
I'm still wondering why this movie didn't win Cannes Grand Prix and (especcially) Oscar 2024 for foreign movie
I got Mubi like yesterday & this is the first film I saw. Loved it so much, it's grounded in reality so much that it doesn't seem like a film.
Looking forward to discovering more
Believe me you're finally in safe hands. 2-3 years back I never could relate to MUBI because I didn't know any of the films it had but fast forward to now MUBI is the only streaming app I need. Been in their journey for more than a year now.
Thank you for interview. I like this movie!
