Sorry bro but this was far more normal than you think,, particularly in rural communities. It wasn't just black people, it was every one. This still happens in many, many cultures across the world. It wasn't considered morally reprehensible then. Our society has matured and changed. But back then it was completely and totally normal behavior. This is how men have treated women through the ages.
