MOTO PILOT hi greetings from the netherlands man.I bloody loved what u did to your harley it turned into an awesome bobber. To me personaly bobbers are the coolest bikes around. They do need apehangers tho, thats the only way i like em.I wish i could watch the whole process already i cant wait really.I know i wont be the lucky fan gettin it coz im over here but hey... just build the bike n make me happy watchng.I’ve see u work i know you ll do an awesome job.Start workin on it soon bro please i cant wait to watch it. Peace Rem bye ftom holland
That's awesome, a Rat Rod Bobber sounds like a great idea. That bike your buddy has, may be the one you want. However, the engine leaves much to be desired. Consider an engine swap. The frame looks like a winner though.
Moto pilot-I've been nagging about your V4 but you got me excited about this aircooled classic Japanese 4cyclinder rat build!!can't wait to see what you get!
Someone once said never buy the first vehicle when looking for something new. You can always go back and buy it later. I say keep looking you never know whats just around the corner?
Im super excited for this build!! It's exactly what I've been wanting to do for a while so Im hoping that I can use it as a guide for my own cheap backyard bobber build. Cant wait to see it play out!
Would be awesome if you could cover what it takes to title and register a custom build on California in your series. It's the only thing that's been holding me back from building a bike with a spare motor I picked up from the salvage yard.
Think you were on the right track, buy a bike whole then you know what you got. Best to have a good running bike then buy one apart and not know what it is going to cost to get it going. If you have a choice a 1985 xj700 maxim makes a good bobber because with the lines it has naturally it could be left as a soft tail might make a easier build and 80 hp stock. Loved the Harley build you did, turned out awesome, and looking forward to the new build.
HECK YES!!! I've been thinking about building a rat rod Moto so this is very cool. I know zero about building a bike, just a "bolt on upgrades guy", so this will either be very encouraging or it will make me realize I need more tools and know how. Either way I'm stoked and diggin' it! Those parts you checked out in the barn are a pretty good option, but I'd keep looking in case you find a real nugget. Cheerz!
If you just have machine work done, that particular engine is not very difficult to assemble. Just ask them to match you a set of pistons to the bore and keep the existing stroke, then buy repair manual
Like most of the other comments , buy a old but running engine as that one could cost you lots . Also it got to be more fun to strip a runner and cut the bits off and weld the bits on you really want. Cheers
MP, my first bike was a 1977 Kawasaki KZ400 Deluxe. I loved that scooter, but as soon as I rode it off the lot, I realized that I should have gotten a bigger motorcycle, like the KZ750 (I was going through my CHiPs phase at the time). I crashed it on US 101 in Santa Barbara years later and it never was the same (tweaked frame?) so I sold it. Didn’t you use to work for Malcolm Smith when you were a kid, maybe he could hook you up with parts, etc if you get this KZ750.
Look into the safety and possible dangers of using a swingarm without suspension, they are not as structural as a proper frame .... Consider that the swingarm bearings would quickly fail .
Didn't American pickers go by his place? I think they did.well I am planning this myself except I'm doing a gold wing moter probably..looking forward to seeing this finished product.
Hi bro if the motor is not good it is not wreath it to much money to fix look for something else .I bought a Suzuki intruder 400 vs and it was in great shape and i made it into a bobber for very little money back yard i can show you some pics anyway i like your channel and i always follow you keep it up
I’m building a cb750 bobber build I need help choosing the right jet size ... I’m running a cutoff exhaust air pod air filters like yours ... should I use a 120,122, or 125 jet ? any information would be GREATLY appreciate!!!
IDK....It seems realllly low in the back....Up to You - I know you'll get it lookin and running great in the end tho man. Change the color scheme up for it if you do?? ... Go "Bob Ross" on it! LoL #keepitkrylon

It would be more exciting to see you start with a original bike ! That would give more inspiration to those of us who want to do the same thing.
@@CovertOperation13 you're in luck.
@@MOTOPILOT6 Cool !! I'll be watching for the video !!
MOTO PILOT yo vanilla nice bike 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘soooooo freshhhh
I think that bike builds is the most interesting format for a bike based channel 👌
Start with a full, running bike. Always good to see a bike come to life again!

I'm stoked for another build loved the harley
Got a couple different builds going. Love watching the videos while I'm waiting for parts.
Lookin forward to this, you killed it on the last one
Yay! The last build series was the shit.. keep em coming brother.
I really enjoy watching these projects. Thank you
Can't wait to see more!

Hell ya, I'm excited about this project! Love watching bikes come together. Thumbs up as usual moto!
Ughhhh finally another build! Definitely down to enjoy it! Thanks for your content
My sporty is a gritty rat rod bobber, I had to upgrade the motor from an 883 to a 1275, gets more attention on bike night than the fancy baggers
Personally, I’d like to see you start with an intact bike, like a 750 four, and go from there. Avoid the boxes of bolts.
Someone once said never buy the first vehicle when looking for something new. You can always go back and buy it later. I say keep looking you never know whats just around the corner?
It's got potential but man I hope you know the ride you're in for with a hard tail.

KZ 750 my first bike back in 1989 super sick. I would be an outlaw on that today 🤠

Cheerz!
I built a ratrod bobber of a vulcan800 here in Sweden for under 3 grand
take it that in your hands will make one of the best kz bobbers anyone is yet to see
Hi yes build that one it would be cool like the frame a lot
Cool another bike build, but I’d stay clear of that bracket case lol .
Find a bike that’s all there 👌🏻
And it begins! Metric bobber! Ahhhyeahhh.....braaap!!!
I’d like to see you do an old cb750 bobber just to see what ideas you would come up with and how the finished project would turn out.
There is one on cycletrader.com for 850 bucks. 1983 Honda cb 750 nighhawk in highland California. Perfect start
@@JosephBrumberlow I'm actually viewing this bike this week
You're in luck
I agree something that's made and we can follow the changes from a stock model! Keep up the posts!

This may be a weird statement BUT...when you said KZ750 I couldnt get my head around a Bobber build. But when i saw the frame...Yup, its cool.

In case you haven't seen the Fat Boy Bobber Build time lapse you can watch it here >> ua-cam.com/video/7A-3uQu2P2M/v-deo.html
I'm in...beginning to end. I'm with ya
I have an ‘83 Kz750 LTD that I’m slowly restoring. It’s in pretty nice condition already!!

Engine cost is the biggest factor definitely worth considering it carefully
I think that bike definitely has a lot of potential but like you said the engine cost sounds a but much for your budget. Keep looking.
You So genius and talent Sir 👍
Can't wait to watch it.
just bought a 78 kz750. you can get these for like $300-900 all day long here almost running.
lots of beautiful motorbikes 😍
hello I am a new subscribers from Indonesia
is that vanilla ice lol?
You don’t want another guys problems. Start with a stock running bike and go from there. Look for a kz1000 you won’t regret it.
I would like to see a regular complete junkie bike turned into a rat rod bobber
I agree with the comments best to get something decent that hasn't been tinkered with to that degree
Yeah! Finally MOTO PILOT ^^
I would pass on that one, look for a intact bike. I learned hard way
Do raffle give away. That H.D. bob is sweet.
It would be nice to see it done
Do another harley bruh...knuck pan shovel...hell do a flathead even...loved the last build...
Yeah coz everyone has 10k to throw at a vintage HD motor and trans 🤣🤣🤣
where is the pateron button or link would love to join..i live 5 mins from riverside I have a 2014 street glide now would love to have a bobber
Nahhhh bro let that go ! Get a shadow or something like that and start from stock , even a crashed bike like from copart Bro go that way !
Didn't American pickers go by his place? I think they did.well I am planning this myself except I'm doing a gold wing moter probably..looking forward to seeing this finished product.
The owner said they came by. But he is not parting with his collection one bit

If it's not a hardtail it isn't a bobber 😁😁

Start with the smallest and work up... Will take alot of tuning with pod filters and free flow exhaust
I like the frame would look sick. Low in the arse.
It would be great to see you take a stock yard monster and do your thing with it. Rather than jigsaw someone else dream
IDK....It seems realllly low in the back....Up to You - I know you'll get it lookin and running great in the end tho man.
Change the color scheme up for it if you do?? ... Go "Bob Ross" on it! LoL #keepitkrylon
Nice bike What. Cost the harley
I wouldn't go with it. I would sick with an already running motorcycle and changing that into a bobber.
Why?? Half the fun is the tear down
There's a Grease 2?
Why drill a bunch of Superfluous holes in the neck braces?
Maybe the frame. I'd try & find another motor.
Yama 650
Yessssssssss
👍👍💛
It's a boat anchor if you want to take it on he would have to give it up for a 100
How do you get entered to enjoy this bike?

Hope you didn’t buy that bucket of bolts 😳
? Look up the history and definition of rat bike and bobber ..... You seem to be a bit vague on your labels
You can have a rat bobber... rat chop... rat streetfighter...
@@insomniacbritgaming1632 yes you certainly can ... hey, did you bother to look up the definition? I'm guessing you didnt bother ...
@@balanchuk yeah I did... and yeah I do know the definition
@@insomniacbritgaming1632well, enjoy your perception then

LUV ME SOME RAT STUFF. BUT $3K.... DO $300.....
At least get a bike with motor intact. 1000 bucks for engine rebuild before you even get started on the actual build seems like losing money to me.
Do it
PASS.
Get a Harley
Bla Bla Bla
Bolt on hard tail is junk and dangerous.
People have used bolt on hardtails for decades in the Triumph and Norton community...
