That assist was a super smart play. The way he engaged the opposing D-man after passing the puck back to the point opened up the ice for his teammate to make a play. His hockey sense is insane, he's gonna tear it up in Montreal!
That pass on the board at 2:11 was so sweet also thank god that he didn't get seriously injured on that dirty play at 7:40 and got back on his feet and made a defensive play. He didn't get the breaks today but he looks like the best player on the ice against a bunch of former NHLers.
He is not afraid to show off his skill in his first game. That's a big positive. Overall he was expected to be good, so no surprises there. Putting it into perspective that one game was perfect for comparison. Demidov - a talented young palyer in his first game in the big league. Obviously gifted, but he needs to learn a lot and that was expected too. Gritsyuk - enetering his prime young talent with some serious exerience. A dominat player on the ice. The maturity and experince gave him a visible edge over Demidov. Kuznetsov - a seasoned vet who has seen it all. Still the best hands on the ice(the goal he'd score in game no.2 is just amazing, ripped it home from a zero angle).
It's nice to see people there are chanting and cheering all game long like during soccer games. Love it, we should do that too (instead of commercials lol).
Glad you liked it, it helps if people click on some of the other vids I have to keep this channel going, there's over 1200 so lots to choose from on just about any Hab prospect plus some stuff for the draft.
He played much better when he was played for Russian U18. In SKA can kill his talent, cause the coach Rottenberg doesnt smart and he tried to do the same with Michkov. I hope Ivan will be play in NHL ASAP
Impressive how much chances he creates out of nothing. Good that he plays with Kuz tho, its gonna help him focus on positionning and being an option for his puck carrying teammate. Still some tough reads in his zone but overall he seems very comfortable. Matter of time before he figures out timing and goes on a heather.
The skill is high end for sure, he really knows what he wants to do with the puck when he enters the offensive zone. Going to be fun watching him progress.

Did he play on RW or as center i heard that the habs wanted him to become a center and he also said he was feeling like he had better vision playing center just curious
He was only at RW, I know he has said he wants to be at center but for now until he matures more physically, I would assume he stays on the wing while in the KHL but then next year when he's with the Habs they can have a plan for him to play center.
@@harryhood1919 lol what it would make no sense if so. Better make him play center as soon as possible for development in the center position before he jump into the nhl it would just delay the process..
@@harryhood1919I don't understand why this club only takes old people as a priority in their club, it makes no sense if they know they have a young player with great potential why make him dirty like that
Not the prettiest assist of his career but he bumped into the opponent to give his teammate all that space. That’s probably interference according to the rulebook but NHLers get away with it all the time.
By NHL's understanding first line as he was centered by Kuznetsov. Good choice to let them cook and a great opportunity to learn for Demidov. On the ice that is. Hopefully he is not taking after Kuznetsov off the rink.
he has really above average skating and puck skill, but he needs to improve his playmaking, from the couple of shift by shift matches i have seen from him. But maybe his coach told him to focus on 1vs1...its a possibility.
His playmaking is one of his best assets, he can dish the puck well and his vision/IQ are high end for sure. The skating, he has the edges but looks like he lacks strength so once he matures more physically and adds more mass/strength over time that hopefully will help improve the skating.
@@harryhood1919 i may need galsses, so take that with a pinch of salt: i think he compensate his lack of playmaking ability, with his other abilities. That does not mean he is not a good player right now, but to be dominant in the NHL, he will have to develop his puck control time in O zone and middle zone more. Just my opinion!

its nice he is getting a good opportunity right off the bat. He earned it.

Played a pretty good first after he looked nervous a bit almost cost a goal but just first game i think one year in khl will do him very good
Thank you so much for this. Looking forward to watch all of his shifts this year on your channel

NCAA games can get like that at certain schools when the student sections are rocking. Plus the college bands they bring are a lot of fun as well.

such a talented prospect
Thanks so much for these vids man, great edits
Glad you enjoyed!
wait i just noticed galchenyuk and leipsic arent on ska anymore. thats amazing for demidov! i was scared of his mindset being influenced in a bad way
thank you so much, you are a hero

He got such a good stick defensivly !
He does, puts out a good effort in his own end which is what you want to see, shows he isn't just about padding his stats.
14:02 TOI is good news! Almost had a highlight goal. Good backcheck
If he had of scored on that rush, holy cow would that have been a sick goal!

What a talent wow!!
defensive game improving, still a ways to go
Looks way more human here compared to his MHL video, but he still looks good. Doesn't look out of place at all.
I'm pleasantly surprised to see that he got 14:00+ of TOI
Hes very good off puck. Doesnt look out of place playing with kuznetsov

A generous assist
I can't see clearly on this video but who were his linemates?
He was on with Kuznetsov.

What line was he on ? Second ? Third ? I'm guessing second one but can't be sure.
He was listed as being on the 3rd line but if you look at the forwards TOI it's real close between the 2nd and 3rd lines
By NHL's understanding first line as he was centered by Kuznetsov. Good choice to let them cook and a great opportunity to learn for Demidov. On the ice that is. Hopefully he is not taking after Kuznetsov off the rink.
What was the final score?? On pins and needles over here ; )
His team lost a few seconds into OT. next game is Saturday.
They lost on OT against the reigning champs who were without their top 4 forwards. Basically the champs' third line battled them down.
