Funny how it did a double turn throughout the movie. Jackman is the more sympathetic character at first until he gets obsessed. I was still for him anyway. Bale's twin characters were just as terrible through most of the movie until the ending.
Genuinely one of the best movies ever made. this movie felt different to Nolans other movies. Inception was brilliant but it was so fast paced. this was more about 2 men (well, 3 men) and their relentless rivalry, to the death, and sacrifices they made in their lives to be the best at their trade. masterpiece.
Tbh that final shot of dead body of Angier in the tank, drowned, indicating that all the other tanks had such bodies of Angier's Prestige was more greatest twist and blew my mind more than the twist of Borden Twins
Angiers may have had the more spectacular illusion with the machine but Borden produced the ultimate illusion by using his brother to live on for them both and noone ever knew.
Nothing disturbed me more than Jackman's willingness to both kill himself and be killed every time he used the machine. And so many times on top of it.
Best plot twist film ever.
I want to erase all the Nolan movies from my head so I can watch it all again fresh!
Jackman: I've made sacrifices. I was in X-Men Origins.
"It was the look.... it was the look on their faces..."
Batman kills Wolverine
"No one cares about the man in the box."
I can't believe I never saw it, the twist was there right in front of my eyes and I never saw it!! Damn what a fine twist it is.
So basically, Sarah's nephew gave away the ending of the movie.
ending gives me chills

"Do you have anything to say?"
"You want to be fooled." The wisest sentence.
One of the best endings I've ever seen. I only remember one comparable, "The usual suspects" where he says "And just like that

Something as simple as muting the strings as Caine said 'fooled' gave it so much more impact, brilliant film
