It may have been a bad marvel movie back then, but at least it allowed for dark and honest portrayal of the feelings of the main character, not being scared of being too serious. I feel like now most new marvel movies look impressive but they are so shit, see the new Dr. Strange or Thor Love and Thunder. I much prefer the dark world in hindsight
What did you think? Did you at least enjoy Dark World? Or do you really think it's forever doomed to be F Tier? Side note, this was by far the biggest video project I've ever worked on. I'm still experimenting with different edits and styles and even software, but I'm really happy with how it turned out
@@Nerdybit It was an enjoyable film. Wasn't the best I've seen nor the worst. The best parts has always been the scenes with Loki, Darcy or even Eric. Keep up the excellent work brother!
@@jasonkeith8794 Thanks so much man! I appreciate you checking a couple videos out. And I agree! for the longest time people online just meme on Dark World like it's the worst movie ever made. I'd give it like a 6.5/10 on a bad day.
It was always my favorite of the Thor movies wether that’s a hot take or not. Thor 1 was ok, the third one was fun but it felt more like a guardians of the galaxy movie, and we don’t talk about the fourth one-
i feel like the people who dismiss this movie as being the "worst" are people who saw it once when it came out, never went back to it and just remember it being the "worst one" and yeah at the time it was, it was only the second movie in phase 2 and the MCU was still pretty young. but we have gotten much worse MCU content since than and i don't think it deserves that title of being the worst MCU movie. its better than Captain Marvel, Ant Man 2 & 3, Black Widow, and a tone of the Disney+ shows.
I always loved Thor The Dark World. It was like Game of Thrones in space with beautiful cinematography and awesome action scenes. Better than Ragnarok and Way better than Love and Thunder what a fucking joke
I understand that the movie has flaws like a terrible villain and zero character development (except for loki perhaps) but still i really like the movie. Maybe because i watched it when i was young but i prefer having a movie like TDW instead of something like Quantumania or Love & Thunder that make fun of Marvel and have terrible plots with a lot of lorebreaking and disregard of continuity. TDW is a mid marvel movie but still better than Ant Man 2, 3, Thor 4 & Hulk. Same level as Iron Man 2, 3, Far From Home, Captain Marvel, Dr Strange 2, Age of Ultron, Black Widow & Eternals. Guess what? That’s most marvel movies
I agree so much. If you were to make a list of bad marvel movies it would actually be getting closer to the top, ESPECIALLY if you add the new disney series. there are some stinkers. Thor 2 is a good movie.
@@Nerdybit yeah don’t get me started on the shows. I prefer an evil alien villain like malekith over the redhair girl from Falcon, that was just lame, and that is one of the good shows
To be honest I haven't hated a single marvel movie, which is definitely strange, but I think almost every marvel movie has there good merits, maybe this is because I only recently finished watching all of marvel lol
@@Nerdybit my top 2 is probably infinity war and endgame even though that's an expected answer, so let's go with doctor strange multiverse of madness, and winter soldier
@@Nerdybit Aside from Gorr, there was no Loki, it was a comedy with jokes happening nonstop and doesn’t add anything more to Thor’s story arc. They should have just stop at Ragnarok, the true finale.
Thor and Dark World and 2 of 3 my Marvel Guilty Pleasures, the other is Spider-Man 3...I see them and go "Is this *Really* the Worst Marvel Movie?!! They have so much Heart put into it!!!" Seriously, The first Thor Movie feels like something ripped from Shakespeare, Dark World is like LOTR, (I am not complaining) plus Tom Hiddleston makes "Bad" MCU movies Enjoyable, also Malekith unlike Taskmaster and Fake Mandarin wasn't wasted in his movie. And Spider-Man 3 Might have a lot of Villains but the key one is Peter Parker's Ego causing it all, I find that series a great character piece for all 4 Leads!!! (I saw it for the first time before NWH, and I have had an emotional time watching it.) For my other Guilty Pleasures, The Prequels to Star Wars (They were my Childhood) and The Hobbit Trilogy, do I really need to explain!!! (My YT!Name is partly from Middle Earth)
@@Nerdybit Yeah, I loved the other 2, and I loved the conclusion feel to the end of the Raimi Trilogy!!! Plus I am a big sucker for Bully Maguire's dancing!!!
I honestly really like Thor: Thd Dark World and I always have. It’s not perfect, but I think it’s fun. Saying it’s boring makes no sense to me. It’s the 2nd best Thor movie imo. Thor Movies Ranked: 4: Love and Thunder 3: Thor 2: Dark World 1: Ragnarok
These movies conditioned people to expect overachieving actuon movie after movie. This was the opposite of that, tbis was heavy intrigue, trickery, and dark tone. I love that bit many marvel fans were bred to like a particular type of movie.
My girlfriend and I watched Thor: Dark World and honestly, i didnt hate it as much as I remember. I think it was due to being released long before the crap that is out now. There was alot I liked, and yeah the villian was bland and all jokes didnt land, it didnt suck like many said it did. To me, it went from "this is BAD" to "eh, its aight". Id watch it again honestly and id rather this than Thor: Love and Thunder
Me personally I liked the first Thor film, & I liked his character a lot in it. Thor seemed to become boring once this film came along, or at least maybe a bit in Avengers. I’m confused about how that happened though since they had the guys who would later write a great version of Thor in infinity war, Christopher Markus & Stephen mcfeely, writing on this film. They also had Christopher yost who wrote avengers emh & the hulk vs Thor animated movie. You’d think with all those great writers that the characters wouldn’t be so wooden here
@@NerdybitI think it was the script based off a darker mature storyline of the Thor comics didn’t work in Taikas comedy like directing for Thor 4. I’m guessing Thor 3 was very fun because it was a breath of fresh air for the character considering he was getting a bit boring during the avengers movies
