I was raised by my great-grandmother until I was 8 and feel that it was such a huge blessing! I miss her terribly, she passed away a few days after I turned 18.
My daughter - 7 year old Annabelle Dixie - spends regular time in the care of her VERY active/capable 90 year old great-grandmother. I agree - it is SUCH a blessing our kids can build relationships and legacy with the great-grand generation ❤
My Great Grandma used to babysit me for short stints when I was a kid. One time I talked her into playing house and our house was under a card table. My Grandma had to help her out from the table. Oops!
I just wanted to say how much you have helped me through the last two years. We moved from Pennsylvania to California. It was really hard, but your videos take me back to my home and I love it! We are moving back to PA this summer and my whole family is looking forward to being back home! Thank you for your videos! God bless you and your family!❤
We are trying to decide if we are moving to PA as well. We were just in Hershey and we are so in love with PA.
When I was born all 4 of my great-grandmothers were alive and well. The last one passed when I was 22. What a blessing.
Seeing your kids on the counter reminds me of a story my brother told about waking early Saturday morning to sounds from the kitchen. His triplet girls and their older sister (about a year older) were all sitting on the kitchen counter in their diapers making themselves cereal. I guess she was the ringleader.
Loved that you shared your “mom fail” with us. Sometimes is easy to see “influencers” lives as perfect with perfect kids, but it’s a good reminder y’all are just people. But just so you know you’re never a fail as a mom- you’re an amazing wife, mom and Godly example. Prayers for you and your family.

I got 15 years with two of my great grandmas. I absolutely loved hanging with the old ladies! I learned how to cook and bake, play card games, read, and write in part thanks to them. It’s the best having close family. Makes me sad my family is far from my children now. They won’t get the same experience as me😞 Thank goodness for technology and Google duo.

Working with leather is a true skill. My Wife is learning sewing and will be working for my Civil War Sutler business soon. A great deal of leather is involved in reenactments for soldiers that focus on being period correct. 🧵🧷🪡

Ok so you mentioned the smoked cream cheese a while back and we tried it and loved it! We have been making it for all the potlucks and events and it’s always a hit!! We serve it with homemade bread and cowboy candy and salami -- so delicious!

You should try making your own Play-doh! It's really easy and super cheap. There are plenty of recipes online and it just takes water, flour, salt, oil, cream of tartar and some food coloring. It works really great and keeps well. It makes great little party favors for kids and you can even add glitter or shimmer powder to make it extra fancy.

Yes! The price of butter blew me away. Where I live here in Canada, a pound of butter is $7-8 CAD 😢 I usually stock up when it’s on sale for $4 and freeze it.

It's very eye opening to actually give every dollar coming in a name/place versus trying to wing it🤪 And I'm a part of our finances..My personal opinion is every wife needs to know what is taking place..especially in a case of emergency or death you know what all accounts you have😏

Our butter has gotten so expensive in Australia. I think 7 dollars for a block of 500grams. The other day ubereats had a dairy special on and I bought up a few butters at 5 dollars. It shouldn't be so much. Lived seeing your week and thsnkyou for being open with us. And what a melodious happy birthday! Sang so well!!!
It's even worse in Sweden. 500g organic butter is about 11 Australian dollars. Crazy!

My kids were babysat by their great grandma, they called her Old Grandma and my mom, their grandma they called he New Grandma. not sure who started calling them that
For comparison of food prices, in the UK, we pay approx £2.50 (about 3 dollars) for half a pound of butter
We never budgeted, just always spent the least necessary when we were strapped for cash and now we spend more but still below our means - that has worked very well for us for 30 years!
Butter here in Montréal is about 8$/pound. Costco price is close to 5$/pound. So your price is amazing.

I'm from Lancaster, but we moved away this past December (so sad!). Go to a Fox Meadow creamery - best ice cream ever. Also, check out some of the Amish sights. Ride the train at Strasburg railroad (great for little kids), Pennsylvania train museum or the miniature toy train museum, there's a lot to do! :) Have fun!

I like my kids to have 6 outfits plus a couple church outfits too! My older 3 all wear the same size and usually share(they don’t have to big choose to) I always feel like I should have more for my foster kiddos though. I feel like if I send them home with only 6 or so outfits, it looks like I didn’t want to spend the money- which isn’t the case. And if they are using laundry matts, 6 outfits might not get through trips.
