I bought just the s300 rebuild kit online from Austin. I have a 66/74 silver bullet turbo from industrial injection Everything fit just fine when they told me it wouldn’t work. My turbo has a build date of 2012. So maybe something has changed since then? I see no difference in bearings unless someone else has already rebuilt it once. Which I have my suspicions cause there was missing compressor housing bolts and clamps and also the o ring for the front seal plate was nonexistent... I have oil on my compressor side so hoping maybe the o ring fixes that
Nice video! I’m in the process off renovating a BW s200sx. What torque spec should I torque the shaft nut to? And is there any general tips and tricks I should know of?
Have you ever used the extreme duty rebuild kit? I rebuilt my s366 with one and now the oil ring on exhaust side won't seal. It's the "gapless" ring style. It wasn't leaking before, I just changed it cause I was in it.
Quick question! where might I source a genuine S366, preferably the 177281, from used? I want to rebuild one and stick it into my truck, but I cannot stumble across one.
@@dimitargeorgiev4264 Use a gapless ring. Rings always have the ability to shift with use. It really makes little difference anyhow because there shouldn't be that much oil getting to the ring with the oil return allowing high flow back to the crankcase. Worst case is the thrust bearing fails and lets the ring come out of the bore, then you are already past point of worries, time to fix it. Oil seal gap goes up on either side of turbo.
I'm not a fan of Borg Warner turbos over the Holset upgrades. I heard the term Marmon flange before and I know a little about what you are talking about, I think the main purpose is the ability for it to bolt on, not saying one is better than the other.
Turbo Lab America understood, this is for a fwd drag setup and got great deal on turbo and have all but decided on having the tapered outlet ground flat so a std v-band will work
hey Austin where u located at...I would like to get up with u about building some vgt turbos for 6.0 6.4 6.7 5.9 diesel trucks....I can supply u with plenty of cores.
Awesome. Thanks for taking the time. Very clear and informative.

You should assemble the journal and thrust rings on to the turbine wheel shaft and then you have to assemble it in bearing housing...It will be simple

Just wondering, how does a s300 compare to the equivalent holset (he351?)?
I'm looking for a turbo for a 6v53n. Had thought about a s300 from an e7 mack.

Good video, can you tell me what is the correct position of the oil seal on turbine side?

Can you rebuild a borgwarner efr 7163 turbo ? If i mail it in ?
Hi,
Does it matter what side of the thrust spacer goes in first?
I don’t think it matters unless the bearing housing can hold it in place
what is your go to location to get marmon flanges for the BW turbos?
