    In other videos I saw that they use the white plastic disks with ridges to avoid chippers from sliding and hitting the saw blades. Also, they assemble the stack before putting it on the saw's arbor.

    Just spent some money buying washers, turns out I shoild have read through your comments and 3D printed one instead.

      Smaller diameter blades can also be purchased, but then the maximum groove width allowed by the shaft on the saw cannot be achieved.

    @Tech-3D Hi there, I have the same combination of tools. I see in your video that you use the 10mm width blade combination, but it seems that your centering support is somehow shorter than this, how shorter exactly ? Can you post the plan for the 3D printing somewhere ? Let's assume you want to cut a 15mm, do you need another centering support (and there fore a custom one for each possible width) ? Thanks in advance for your answers...

      A 3D model won't help without precision tuning when printing. It depends on temperature, nozzle size, filament quality, etc... it just has to be fine-tuned to within tenths of a millimeter.
      In the video, it was only done for the presentation and to 10mm because I didn't have a reducing centering metal washer.
      If you don't need the maximum groove width it's better to buy a grooving wheel with a smaller inner diameter.

      @@Tech-3D Just to let the readers know: I made several centering bronze washer (4 times 4mm, 1 time 1mm, 1 time 2mm, 1 time 3mm) so that you could use any combination for the different dado size and everything seems to work fine.

    Tks for giving good teaching for using dado blade. One question, my table saw is Dewalt DWE7492, 10". Is it possible using CMT 8" blade for my saw?

    • @Tech-3D
      @Tech-3D  5 місяців тому +1

      Of course. You will only reduce the size of the cut through thickness of the material.

    Has the plastic washer held up with time? I'd imagine that the heat would get the best of it eventually. Any specific plastic recommended? Cheers!

      Yes, it's usable for a while. I made it out of PLA. It is not 60 degrees Celsius on the shaft in a normal short spline. I put metal reducers in there later.

    Hi
    How did you mount the blade on the saw? I saw you had like a plastic washer of some sort. Did you make that yourself?
    Thank you :-)

    • @Tech-3D
      @Tech-3D  Рік тому +3

      Yes, I made the centering support myself on a 3D printer. Otherwise, you can also use centering pads for saw blades or you can buy a Dado Blade with a smaller hole. However, the possible width of the cut groove is then reduced. I bought the Dado Blade with a 30mm hole so that I could use the original washer and nut to fix the blades to get the largest possible width of the cut groove. Otherwise the moulding that protrudes from the washer limits the fixing width by -2mm.

      @@Tech-3D Do you have the STL file of the RAW file for the centering support? So i can print them by myself?? It would be great!!

    Hi ,does this 30 mm version comes with a plastic washer adapter ? I have the same saw like you 7492..15,87 mm shaft..ty

    • @Tech-3D
      @Tech-3D  11 місяців тому +1

      No, I made the reduction ring. Grooving discs can also be bought in a centered version 15,87 mm. But then the maximum width of the grooves cannot be achieved.

    Hi! I have the same saw, and had seen that CMT had released this dado stack. I sent an email to DeWalt and asked if it was compatible, and after checking the customer representative got back to me with a negative. He didn't explain why, just that none of their saws in the EU can take a dado stack. Seems to work fine on yours tho -- any idea why I got that answer from DeWalt? Cheers!

      Hey. Hey. Those are the safety guidelines. Spline blades must not be used on any saw where there is a power brake. The problem is the possibility of the nut coming loose when the engine stops - braking, if the brake is effective enough, the large weight of the blade assembly continues the cyclic motion and can loosen the nut. I have solved this with the Soft Start Module. On the other hand, CMT claims they are EU approved.

    sranda ze tieto veci neboli povolene v EU...neviem ci vsade alebo ako, pricom v USA je to relativne bezna vec. Asi sa da zaobist aj bez toho, ale vyzera to byt sikovna vec.

      CMT sa práve chváli tým, že ide o prvé drážkovacie kotúče v súlade s predpismi EÚ. Ono je to trochu zamotané aj s tým USA. Tam tiež na niektoré píly zámerne dávali kratšie hriadele a písali to do návodov, že to nie je povolené, ale zase ponúkali dokúpenie dlhších hriadelí pre použitie tých istých píl s drážkovacími kotúčami ako príslušenstvo. V niektorých bezpečnostných predpisoch je uvedené, že drážkovacie kotúče sa nesmú používať na pílach s brzdou motoru. To si myslím, že je fakt a správne upozornienie, pretože môže dôjsť k uvolneniu matice.
