My hometown!! I was born and raised in Veracruz. I have been away for over 40 years!! But I visit every year. Saludos a todos los jarochos.
That’s my city I been away for 20 years saludos 👋 desde Chicago Illinois
I can't say for the actual city of Veracruz, but the state of Veracruz has the second largest population of Afro-Mexicans in the country after the state of Guerrero (according to the last census, Mexico has at least 2.5 million black people in the country though the true number is likely much higher).
Gtfo Afro-Saxon why is it so pressing for you to see yourself as part of the Spanish speaking world? The reality is that we realize there are some who have Afro-centric features but it’s not what they base their entire identity around.
Because there's African descended people in your country. Does it bother you that much? Are you a prejudice. African people where taken all over the world during slave trade if your ancestors didn't accept slaves there would be none in your country. and if spanish people didn't raid rape and pillage your country. Mexicans are naturally very brown people. Azteca and Mayan where not wettos or wettas dummy.
@@vizsla8579 The level of your ignorance is beyond description.
Oh man I lived there in the 1990s and it still has the vibe.
I grew up going to that ice cream shop! Absolutely loved this walkthrough ❤️❤️
Moving to DR in a couple weeks bro. Gonna be there til mid january then off to Colombia. Gonna start vlogging like you fam! I wanted to do Mexico initially like 6 months going through all the cities/towns but I think I’ll do all of South America all of 2022 instead. Feeling excited/nervous. Lol
When you go to the DR and if you are staying in Santo Domingo. I recommend to stay in the neighborhoods I usually stay in.. I like Airbnb in the Bella vista, el million, el naci, piantini, elvaristo Morales, los caciscagos, those are my favorite area of the city. You'll love it. Cheers
Go for it! You won't regret it.
done any vlogs
I hope you show more of VC, I’ve always been curious about it. Looked like a clean peaceful city.
It is! you should visit it and enjoy the delicious food and the friendly people.
My dad was there years ago and loved it… hopefully one day I can go check it out.
Make sure to go during the weekend
I was there over a year ago. There is so much to this state. I went on a tour and it was amazing. Everything was great.
I've been wanting to visit Veracruz for years now. I met women from there in tijuana. Most of them had a mixed look to them like the curly hair of the woman you interviewed. Looking forward to it. Thanks
The people seemed friendly, but it was desolate out there. I wouldn't go during the weekdays.
You should definitely visit. You just need to know when and where to go, as there are different areas spread out. Plus the people are very friendly.
@@ChuyChuy are you from there?
@@ChasExplorz I'm from a town about an hour south of the port of Veracruz, called Alvarado.
@@ChuyChuy I assume you don't still live there
Every image I’ve seen of Veracruz shows the area basically empty except during holidays and special events.
Yea, it was empty
@@slyslife Is it worth going to over Panama?
@@MotivationalMovements I think it´s the same but Veracruz is cheaper
I loved Veracruz the coffee was amazing
Thanks Sly for posting another wonderful video keep up the Excellent work.......watching from the Caribbean 💯 🌴 🌲🌴💖👍✌💯......... and Sly that instrument at the 4:50 Time stamp is called Xylophone
Thanks for watching!
I like veracruz but i come to visit family. If i was alone i would go to xalapa, xico and that area for the nature and water falls. Also the historic sites in el tajin are worth the visit
I met a nice girl in TJ from Veracruz. She told me she grew up working in the fields with her family from age 8 and the area she is from is in the mountain hills, is full of mosquitoes, muddy dirt roads and the homes have no windows. Lots of poverty here that you don't see in these videos.
OMG!!!! I love Palapa Perea. My favorite seafood restaurant in Veracruz.
Veracruz my favorite place is Mexico!!!!
Omg I’m crying, I’m from Veracruz but I don’t know any place there, I was born there but raised in the USA 🇺🇸 hope to go back soon and finally get to know more about my birth state
Edit: thanks for sharing
You are doing serious traveling. Veracruz is not that close to Guadalajara especially by bus. But since you were in Mexico City, I assumed you checked it while you were there. Hopefully you checked out Puebla since it’s also somewhat close to Mexico City.
I flew to Veracruz from Guadalajara. The flight was literally $3 before they add the airport tax and all of that.
@@slyslife Oh! I guess that’s how they get you! That’s worst that Spirit airlines with those crazy hidden fees.
Great video BTW brother!
This seems like a nice city. I like that music has a little different sort of tropical sound. I’ve been curious about Veracruz, especially the very tall mountain (dormant volcano) Orizaba. I’d like to explore around there. Thanks for the content.
That instrument is either a marimba or a xylophone.
Very nice place . They are social dancing near the zocalo in the evening . Have to try the volovanes, they taste good . Almost like Haitian Pattie’s
Hello Mr Sly. Love your content. Like the way you go exploring and showing the more local side of everything. Do you have an email or other way to contact you outside of UA-cam?
Nice video dude. Looks like a beautiful place.
I know an expat who lived there for 12 years! Hear it’s a decent spot
THANKS FOR SHARING GREAT VIDEO👍🏿
I want to move there
A toda madre, ojala regreses a mexico.
How did you learn spanish and how long did it take?
Honestly looks exactly like Los Angeles
Damn! It looks like you had a good time there. My beautiful city!💘
Never heard of Veracruz until a documentary I seen about the Cartels
Damn Sly how do you cope with the stares? Do you ever get any bad Vibes going into some restaurants? It's like All eyes on you sometimes.
It's all good. They're just not used to seeing Black people...
Thanks Sly. That's class traveling and documenting. Everyone appreciates a polite interviewer. Thanks
Los portales was awesome!
Since being in Mexico, have you been able to easily spot any peddlers of certain narcotics?
Mainly in the tourist areas
What city are you in In Veracruz?
