Yes, I love it too. He walks past her, their eyes meet and then he turns and hugs her, without saying a word. Just perfection, though I wish they’d named Eli Oliver instead, after Olivia, the way Dickie was named after someone Stabler worked with/for and admired.
It shows the strength of their characters, and their sense of duty and devotion to things they were dedicated to(for Elliot his family and for Liv her job as a sex crimes cop) that they never acted on their feelings for all that time.

Kathy knew. She's always known. But she also knew that they both were too good of a person to ever act on it while she and Elliot were married. His kids also know. I'm not sure if they always knew but I think that Maureen as the eldest might have suspected. What's even better is that you can tell the kids wouldn't object
I agree. I feel she’s always known and that’s why she wanted them to reconnect. She’s Elliot better half and if Kathy isn’t around he needs that.
Kathy was able to die knowing Elliot was truly faithful to her and their marriage despite the deep connection and friendship he and Olivia always had. I'm pretty sure she would want Elliot to find happiness again and love - and she probably would be the least surprised for it to be with Olivia.
Kathy stabler would not be surprised if Elliot and Olivia got together because she wanted Elliot to be happy

We all know Olivia has been in love with elliot since day one but Even while he was married to Kathy he is always been in love with Olivia. You can see it when he look at her at 8sec. He wanted to be with her so bad but he couldn't. I love that specific moment right there. The way they always give us hints on what's to come in the future,. They are soulmates. ♥️♥️♥️

That's one of my fave. And the one when they at her steps or his steps at the house and she is drinking tea which Elliot looks at Olivia and says things change. Another i love you moment without saying it. I just adore them.

honestly there were so many scenes to choose from. I didn't go with the wedding because it was Olivia who made the toast and I wanted scenes where Elliot was doing mostly the talking or it was blatantly his pov like the first clip

If you root for them to get together but know they shouldn't or won't because of the show but feel that connects that's not acting that's real Love for each other! The soppy music in the background is so annoying but anyways- ‘Fault’ was the episode that made me realise how much they care for each other. *Spoiler* but bc of Elliots decision to help Olivia over the kids, the little boy dies. For the rest of the ep Elliot is guilty and mad at Olivia for getting hurt as it clouded his judgement. But really, he was mad at himself for caring about Olivia more than he should

Agreed. In Fault, Elliot says, "You and this job are about the only good things I have left...I don't want to lose that." He was upset because he chose helping her over saving the little boy. He acknowledges their chemistry but knows it can't interfere with their work otherwise they both make the wrong decisions.
I feel like it’s bound to happen before the shows over it would hurt too many long time viewers I mean Ik y they dragged it but they are both at points where they no longer are working together so I feel like it’s about time they be each other’s soulmates
Yes, in a similar vein, I hated that Lisbon and Jane ended up together romantically in The Mentalist, as they always had the sensible big sister and annoying but sweet little brother dynamic going on. I love a good male-female friendship, and Stabler and Benson have such a great one!
In season 13 when she goes on a date with Harry Connicks character. She tells him she just got out of a relationship and she meant Stabler. Then when Lewis and her had their rivalry he mentioned Stabler. How she wished he would save her. I believe they should’ve brought him back for one of those episodes. I believe after what happened at the wedding at the season finale and how she helped him in Organized Crime. They’ll eventually get together.

In context, the story was about a woman who was alone, had no family and had no connection to neighbors around her. She ended up dying by suicide because of her childhood trauma of being abused by her father. The case reminds him of Olivia even though it wasn't exactly her backstory but it hit close to home. The title "A Single Life" is a double entendre for Olivia's life as well. Elliot's comment to Olivia about her being "a monkette" kind of alluded to him wondering if she was that alone in life too. His facial expression when he's watching her and she goes "What?" sort of shows how he's thinking about her life outside of SVU. Possibly wanting to show her she's not alone in a way. Definitely a sign of him developing a curiosity into her life and wanting to know more, and even possibly...feeling love already. lol

Those are literally two examples from over 30 years ago out of thousands of shows that have come since. There have been so many amazing shows over the years that have written canon romance that worked out perfectly. Fans have wanted this for 20 years, it'll be fine. Plus, Mariska wants Elliot to be Olivia's endgame anyways.
Elliot is not a good man. He is a bully and very violent. This idea that he would be good for her is frankly disgraceful
