Matthew 12:38-41 The Sign of Jonah Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
Just one small point, I think that you will find that people went up to Jerusalem not down as was stated in this video. Also by quoting Jonah, Jesus was alluding to the time that he was to spend in his tomb before his resurrection. This prophecy was fulfilled after Christ was crucified on Wednesday Nisan14 in 31 AD, which was on the Day of Preparation during that Passover week. He was placed in his tomb just prior to the beginning of Nisan15, which fell on the yearly Sabbath during that Passover. Just like Jonah he then spent a period of 72 hours incarcerated in his tomb, before rising back to eternal life just before the end of the weekly Sabbath on Nisan17. The Stone of the tomb then rolled open at the beginning of the Day of First Fruits, which was on Nisan18 during that particular Passover week. The date for the Crucifixion on Nisan14 was confirmed by the early Church Father Polycarp, who claimed that he had been taught this by John the Beloved of Christ. The fact that Christ was crucified on a Wednesday complied exactly with the prophecy of Daniel: That the Messiah was to be cut off midweek. On the Jewish calendar a Wednesday is the fourth day of the week.
How come Wednesday the day of Jesus crucification was before the Sabbath? What happened to Thursday and Friday, did they vanish? Friday is the day of preparation. And you say that Jesus resurrected Nisan 17, but the Stone was rolled away one day after on Nissan 18. You don't make sense.
@c848 I'm sorry that you are unable to grasp the points that I have made in my comment on this video, it's just that I assumed that people would be aware of the time difference on the Jewish calendar. So I will try and elaborate for you: 1. The double Sabbath at Passover Every year from the time of the Exodus the Jews held the Festival of Passover, and the day following the Day of Preparation would be celebrated as the beginning of the Passover week. This was made a yearly Sabbath in addition to the normal weekly Sabbath. You must also realise that on the Jewish lunar calendar a new day begins at sunset. This is why there was a huge rush in the Gospel to place Christ's body in his tomb before the beginning of the Sabbath, but the Sabbath in question was the yearly Sabbath of the Festival of Passover and not the normal weekly Sabbath which fell on Nisan17 in 31 AD. The Festival of Passover normally falls on different dates every year on the Jewish lunar calendar. 2. The time that Christ spent in his tomb before his resurrection. Jesus prophecised that just like Jonah spent three days and three nights in the Belly of the Great fish, so he would spend the same three days and three nights in his tomb prior to resurrection. It doesn't matter whether it is the lunar or solar calendar that is in use, a period of Day and Night is always a period of 24 hours, so as to comply with one rotation of the earth. So three days and three nights on either calendar would come to a total of 72 hours. So Christ was crucified on Wednesday Nisan14 just before the beginning of the yearly Sabbath at sunset on Thursday Nisan15, where his body spent the whole of that yearly Sabbath day and night (24 hours). His body also spent the next day and night (24 hours) Friday Nisan16 in his tomb. He then resurrected just before the end of the weekly Sabbath (24 hours) on Saturday Nisan17, and became the first fruit of the New Covenant when he walked out of his tomb on Sunday Nisan18. So the period of 72 hours that the body of Christ spent in his tomb for that Passover week, was from and including the yearly Sabbath to the weekly Sabbath.
@@Lawrence278 in my understanding in that year Passover fell on Friday, then was the weekly Sabbath and the unleavened bread feast annual Sabbath (called a high day in John 19:31 because of both Sabbaths happened to fall in the same day) then the first fruits day on what we call now Sunday. Jewish people counted a day for any part of the day was used. Friday the 6th hour the time of sacrifice when Jesus died and the lamb escaped from the priest's hand was 3pm, so they hurry to burry Jesus before sun down, so this was the part of the first day he was in the grave. Then all Sabbath Jesus rested in the grave and this was the second day. Then he arose next day, so a part of the first fruit day which always came after the weekly Sabbath was the third day.
@@Lawrence278 the mid week prophesy refers to prophetic time and is literal half a year which gives us an aproximate time Jesus was born in the begining of what we call October.
To be exact it's the prophetic time line giving in the Book of Daniel, where it states that the Messiah was to be cut off midweek. The week in question was the seventieth week of Daniel's prophecy, and a week in this prophecy related to a period of seven actual years. The Messiah was too appear for baptism at the River Jordan at the end of the sixty ninth week (483 years), his Ministry then lasted until he was cut off after three and a half years (halfway through the prophetic seventieth week). The only thing is that this would really put the kibosh on the futurist hypothesis that Daniel's seventieth week has somehow been removed and placed in the End of Days. It seems that the only year that fits for a Friday crucifixion on our western calendar is April 23rd 34 AD, but this would not line up with Daniel's seventy weeks prophecy, The only year on our calendar which comply's with the prophecies about the Messiah in Daniel, was on April 26 in 31 AD. This is when Nisan15 began at sunset on the day after the Day of Preparation which was on Wednesday 26th April 31 AD. Please remember that a twenty four hour day on the Jewish calendar begins on the evening of the previous day on our calendar, so Nisan15 was a Thursday (5th day of the week on the Jewish calendar) in 31 AD .@@c848

Matthew 12:38-41
The Sign of Jonah
Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.”
But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Harsh yet beautiful. Just say striking.
Beautiful!
The fact that Christ was crucified on a Wednesday complied exactly with the prophecy of Daniel:
That the Messiah was to be cut off midweek.
So I will try and elaborate for you:
1. The double Sabbath at Passover
Every year from the time of the Exodus the Jews held the Festival of Passover, and the day following the Day of Preparation would be celebrated as the beginning of the Passover week.
3:45 at this point I understood the coming connection. Pretty cool stuff. Three days inside the belly of a fish or ground. Poof!
Lovely links!
Guy with sunglasses at 10:02 , but well put together and great video.
I was just going to comment on that! LOL, AI videos have some outstanding quirks! Great video though
Beautifully explained 😢loved it
Ships in Jonah days were really large Boats but the Story does not change...
It’s hard to get these programs to cooperate when creating images.
I said I was going to go through all the 66 books and study each person God called to see if they have the same message unlike today it should be repent and serve the lord
Powerful

Thank you
You're welcome!!
I wish people would understand that a real human voice (even if imperfect) is always better than an AI generated one.
I wish people would understand that it takes soooooooooo much more work to use your own voice and that it’s not nearly as clear or understandable and that microphones aren’t cheap.
I love the AI voice, it's smooth, clear and flows clearly. It's comforting😊
One day that AI which is helping now will not need you any more. And it will spread it's own truth.🤔
This is a great teaching. Kodus to the author.
Also Baptism in the ocean.
Hosanna!
HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
