today I'm sharing a tour of my 60s & 70s Vintage Home Tour with you! Last year I moved to the outskirts of a small town on the swabian alps and have been working on decorating my boyfriend and I's apartment to become a beautiful 60s & 70s inspired groovy vintage home.
Inspired by popular mid century furnishing trends as well as Kinfauns, the beautiful home of Pattie Boyd & George Harrison, the Houses of Frank & Gail Zappa and Jimmy Pages and Miss Pamelas pad we wanted our place to feel like a 60s time capsule.
Most of our furtniture is thrifted either from antique and thrift shops or bought online on Ebay or Facebook marketplace. Most of the pieces are originally from the time with some of them being special treasures that my great-grandfather who worked for Knoll International in the 60s made and handed down to me.

This is absolutely lovely and what a dream! I'm not very good with decorating and home interior stuff so I always struggle to know how to arrange things and what kind of things give off that retro vibe but you seem to do it so naturally!! I absolutely love your new home! I got so much inspiration from your old apartment and now I'm getting even more from your new one! You have a small wooden box in the very beginning of this video I sent you a picture on Instagram I have almost the exact same one that was gifted to me back in 1976! I had that same dresser back in 1983 until about 86, don't know what ever happened to it, was left at my mother's house when I left for the military, was thinking about it this past week. Definitely need to be on the hunt for another one

You would quite likely get a kick out of watching the classic crime drama TV series The Streets of San Francisco (1972-77), there's always some nice location houses and apartments with cool interior decor. That show is such a great time capsule.

OK, you clearly, have a lot of vintage things here, but right off the bat, the one, main, thing missing is the lack of colour in your colour scheme, regarding the walls. I'm so, baffled as to why it is so, very, hard for kids today, to move away from white and start adding more colour to your lives again. Well, in your cases; adding it for the first time.
I get what you’re trying to say, but this place we were renting and our contract didn’t allow us to paint any walls. We have now moved it to a different place where we are able to paint and wallpaper the wall so that’s the first thing that we’re doing. Also, I’ve lived in two apartments before that, where I fully customized the wall with paint and wallpaper too. I appreciate you trying to help me improve my style and making my home look better, but please don’t take it out on an entire generation.
@@EmmaRosaKatharina : Sweetheart, I WILL, take it out on an entire, generation, because you guys have been completely, ruining interior design for pushing, 30, damn, years, now. It takes nothing to check the designs and styles before the 2000s, indeed, almost, every decade before the 2000s to know EXACTLY, what I'm talking about, without me having to go through needless, explicit, detail. What's with the all whites. What's with the open concept; no rooms and everything as bare as can be. What's with all this damn, minimalism to the point where so called "homes" today, have nothing in them are are COMPLETELY, DEVOID, of ALL, warmth and charm here? What with all that stupid, tasteless, senseless and boring shit anyway? And what's with you guys demonizing anyone who tries to bring these things to your attention.
I rent too, sadly. I've been forced to rent my entire, damn, life; and the reason senseless, stupid, property owners go all white like this, is because they THINK, that is what people WANT, these days, thus forcing someone like myself to have to accept something that I hate with a bitter, burning, passion. Overwhelmingly, owners don't give one, sweet, you know what, for tenants, as it's ALL, about the damn, MONEY, for these people, and nothing more. Thus meaning; you can NEVER, have a HOME, PROPERLY, as long as you RENT, it's as simple as that. Right now; I'm living in a grey, coloured, place, which I hate, because I'm not a fan of grey at all, for anything, but must accept and put up with it, because that is what is currently, trending right now. And no matter how much others would brainwash you to believe otherwise; you CANNOT, make GREY, look WARM, COZY and HOMEY! You simply, CAN'T. It's a drab, dead, dry, boring, depressing, colour that is almost, impossible to work with. If you have the right lighting, it helps, and if you put nice things up around, it helps, but does not replace greens, and browns, and beiges, and yellows and so forth, all those earth tones and lovely, bight, rich, colours we used in the past, not by a long shot.
I wish I did not have to explain everything in minute detail like this, every time I bring these things up to people in the 20 plus and up category. Just go online, check out the decor of decades past, and you'll know fully, what I'm talking about. I mean all of you, I'm talking in general now.
And it never stops either; enough is never enough with you guys; now you are taking to painting the outside of places ALL, FRIGGEN, BLACK!! All white inside, and all black outside, with NOTHING, in between. I mean, good lord; what are you people trying to do with the world, anyway? And rather than get annoyed with what I'm pointing out here; simply, look around and see for yourself if what I'm saying is not true here. You are ripping ALL, beauty, warmth and charm from that world completely, all because you are too, unimaginative, and too lazy in many cases I think, to even, try to do better. Again, I'm talking GENERALITIES, here and NOT, YOU, PERSONALLY. OK? Please don't twist or misinterpret anything I'm expressing here.
I think it's fantastic you are digging the look and feel of the 70s as there is literally, tons to choose from, from this decade. I hope more, follow the lead of people like yourself, and we can start to see a HUGE, turn around here, and while I'm still, young enough to be able to enjoy it myself.
