Hi! Does anyone know if it's possible to apply for next year, even though I technically won't be 16 by September? I unfortunately have a late birthday, which means that even though I *am* in the required grade to apply, I won't be turning 16 until December of 2024. Is that going to be a problem?
It has nothing to do with that, don't worry just be yourself. They don't know if you need financial aid until you get accepted so I don't think it would hinder your chance
how I know, at the beginning, you fill out the application (some documents), then u passing the test and if this is successful, you meet with representatives of uwc online (zoom probably), they will ask you about all(like why you want to study in this college, your outlooks and etc), then if you pass this interview, you will pass the final stage, you and other students (who pass other stages successful, like u) will slove some group assignments, and representatives looking for u and deside who will be became part of UWC family. (the final stage is like that in Russia, idk how it happen in other countries)

Hey 😇 great that you are interested in UWC! Unfortunately I can’t give you a proper answer since deadlines vary from National Committee to NC. Just google your NC and on their website their should be all the necessary information. In general the selection process happens between May to December each year but that highly depends on your NC.

Do national commitees gave scholarship to at least one person. What I mean is if all of the candidates are not qualified than will they give scholarship to the best of the worst?
They choose the school for you, however, you can write which school you'd prefer to go to (they take that in account while making the decision). You don't need to know the country's language, you just need to know English to study there, although it would be helpful to you to know it. You can visit their page or your country's national committee page (I think that's what its called) for details and stuff like that.
Hey 😇 as Ljubica already mentioned a lot of NCs assign you to a college so you don’t get to choose technically but often you can state preferences but in my case I ended up at RBC which wasn’t one of my preferences but I obviously was very happy anyway and had a great time there. In terms of language, no definitely not at some colleges they will provide you with some language courses, e.g at RBC it was mandatory to do a German course. English is the only language that is really needed at UWC but don’t worry even with English you don’t need to speak like a native speaker, support systems are often in place.

it's okay, don't worry. I myself have social anxiety (really don't know where it came from). If that's okay, can I ask which country you are from? Plus, your english sounds completely fine to me. It's okay if you're not A-okay in english speaking. Your native language, that is what you need to be fluent in. There have been several people who went to UWC, who didn't know the country's language, in which the UWC campus was. It's okay. I am applying for 2022, and assuming you are as well, you should check out your country's uwc website, and fill out applications and stuff. Plus, which route do you want to go through? God, I really want to guide you, but I can't really guide you properly if I don't know anything. Give me a reply, and I'll guide you.

If you are applying this year and get accepted then you are going to attend starting from fall 2021. You will have to finish your 11th year in your school.

That is a very specific question to you so obviously that depends on you what you would like to mention but think of it that way: Is there anything that you are very proud of that you did in your life? Like maybe won an award for a science or sports competition or maybe is there a project you did like living zero waste. I think that there is no wrong answer as long as it is something dear to your heart. Maybe you can start off with a list of everything that you are proud of and narrow it down to 3.
I started filling my application today and I have three sections- personal, to be filled by me, to be filled by parent In my form certificates, video or even recommendation letters are not asked. Will it be asked after I submit my answers?

@@ayushij The application is divided into 4 sections. First there is your personal info, section B is the question answer section, section C is for parents to fill. Once you submit these 3 you will get Section D where you have to submit your grade 9 or grade 10 (if available) mark sheets and reference letter from your school head or class teacher and it must be in pdf format with school's seal (I think there is more to it). For more info there is a downloadable file explaining the application format...you can get it from the national committee website (in the 'how to apply' section under IB, there will be few blue links click on all and check you will get it). I am unsure about the deadline but it is next month. If you have any info about the last date of submission please let me know.

if you apply via national committee and get in, are you guaranteed to get into your top choices. I want to apply but i am scared to get put in one i dont want to attend. If you apply via GSP, are you still able to get financial aid in university?
You are not guaranteed to get your top choices. They may take them into consideration, but ultimately it’s up to the national selection committee. That’s the advantage of the GSP, but you do not receive scholarships or financial aid.
I'm in the applying proccess righ now... I'm worried about getting rejected because the number of applicants is about 500 and my national committee is accepting an average of 15 students، soooo hard to reach the final stage, but I have one question for you... it's okay, don't worry. I myself have social anxiety (really don't know where it came from). If that's okay, can I ask which country you are from? Plus, your english sounds completely fine to me. It's okay if you're not A-okay in english speaking. Your native language, that is what you need to be fluent in. There have been several people who went to UWC, who didn't know the country's language, in which the UWC campus was. It's okay. I am applying for 2022, and assuming you are as well, you should check out your country's uwc website, and fill out applications and stuff.
Plus, which route do you want to go through? God, I really want to guide you, but I can't really guide you properly if I don't know anything. Give me a reply, and I'll guide you.
@@elizaek2626 Fortunately it is in the country where I live, but I still feel kinda nervous because I don't know what it all looks like and works there, what is the work program and the fact whether I will fit into the new environment, you know what I mean? Also, there are some other circumstances, such as my parents, because I am still a minor and I don't know if they would let me go.

If you are applying this year and get accepted then you are going to attend starting from fall 2021. You will have to finish your 11th year in your school.

Yes, you can apply when your in 12 grade as well, as long you're still in highschool

That is a very specific question to you so obviously that depends on you what you would like to mention but think of it that way: Is there anything that you are very proud of that you did in your life? Like maybe won an award for a science or sports competition or maybe is there a project you did like living zero waste. I think that there is no wrong answer as long as it is something dear to your heart. Maybe you can start off with a list of everything that you are proud of and narrow it down to 3.

hey! I'm applying too, I guess it's just the Indian national committee's way of taking this....they didn't ask for any report cards or other work, if you have some information please do share
@@ayushij The application is divided into 4 sections. First there is your personal info, section B is the question answer section, section C is for parents to fill. Once you submit these 3 you will get Section D where you have to submit your grade 9 or grade 10 (if available) mark sheets and reference letter from your school head or class teacher and it must be in pdf format with school's seal (I think there is more to it). For more info there is a downloadable file explaining the application format...you can get it from the national committee website (in the 'how to apply' section under IB, there will be few blue links click on all and check you will get it). I am unsure about the deadline but it is next month. If you have any info about the last date of submission please let me know.

if you apply via national committee and get in, are you guaranteed to get into your top choices. I want to apply but i am scared to get put in one i dont want to attend. If you apply via GSP, are you still able to get financial aid in university?
You are not guaranteed to get your top choices. They may take them into consideration, but ultimately it’s up to the national selection committee. That’s the advantage of the GSP, but you do not receive scholarships or financial aid.
