The United World College Interview | Advice for the UWC interview!

- Have you ever heard of UWC? UWC is a movement which beliefs that education can be a force to unite people from all sort of backgrounds for a sustainable and peaceful future. The United World Colleges are a network of 18 international schools around the world as well as short courses and most importantly a huge network of people that strive for a better world.
In this video, I let you know everything that you need to know for the UWC interview. Many National Committees (NC) will hold interviews as a part of their selection process for future UWC students. I share with you my experience of the UWC interview and tell you my top tips which hopefully answer questions like: "How can I prepare for the UWC interview?" or "What should I expect from the United World College interview?".

Heyy to whoever is reading my comment! good luck with the interview :) mine is today ahah. Reminder :
-Be yourself, it will help you to be more relaxed.
-If you don't understand a question don't try to answer randomly, but instead, you can ask the interviewer to reformulate the question for you.
-Take your time to answer, you don't have to answer the question right away, think about it to be more confident.
-Don't be too shy or smth, try to have a kind of friendly/formal conversation.
-Don't be too stressed, I know the interview is important but it's not the police, it's UWC getting to know you better :)

@@omar-wy1so the interview went well, this year everyone went trough the interview and I was selected to the next round ! Today is the final day, in 1h an 30 mn the meeting will start ahahah I'm nervous 😆

I'm also thinking of applying, but the thing is : In my country I can get my highschool's degree at the age of 17 but if I study abroad (at UWC) I'll get it at the age of 18, and my mom thinks it's not good i

Go for your dreams! It’s not even sure you will get accepted, so just try if you really want to, and trust your destiny! (I’m also applying and I will finish at the age of 20... so don’t worry, you will be one of the younger students if you join)

What happens in Group Work?
My cousin actually goes to the UWC Atlantic and that inspired me to try get there too. Pretty helpful as i can know what I’ll go through.

@@samyeniaxoxxo hey, can you please tell me some of the questions they asked in your interview. I have my interview in 5 days and im already nervous
@@myyoutubechannel9924 First thing they asked was what I knew about UWC, so try as best as possible to pin down everything you’ve learned so far about the program, Another question was why I think i’m the perfect fit for it. They also asked about my extracurriculars, that’s pretty much it. Most of the time they ask scenario questions as well to see how you would react to certain problems you might face at UWC.
Don’t be nervous, try to calm down and remember that you’re ultimately doing this for yourself and no one else. My anxiety fucked me up so bad and I don’t want the same to happen to you. Be yourself cause the interviewers could tell when you’re bullshitting.

What language is the interview
In Germany it was completely in German and from what I've heard it is almost always in the language of your NC but might be that some NCs use English instead :) best to check with your NC!

Hey :) I think for this year entry it is quite late since the school year usually starts around late August except for the college in Eswatini. Also the deadlines depend on your NC so check out their website!

Depends of your national committee, if you’re from the UK you can still apply and some committees haven’t started

Depends of your national committee. If you’re from the UK you can not apply even if it’s just a day of difference.

When should I apply to uwc for grade 9?

Only a few UWCs (Singapore, the Netherlands and there is one more) teach students under 16 years old. You will have to apply to those schools specifically if your national committee doesnt deal with interested students under the age of 15 (its different everywhere).
To answer your question, you should apply now. As the application process will start from mid August and you will be given three months to finish and submit it.

What i dont like is that , in my community , we have 2 seats reserved for UWCRCN and im one of the 6 interviewees , it sucks that out interviewers aren't people from uwcrcn but from our own community , and they think so conservatively and i feel so stifled , if it was people from abroad interviewing i'd be more open and talk really close to heart but seeing as its my own community , the only thing i can do is act meek and not come off as overbearing , sucks , smh
