I’m looking at my Nero 5 now and it’s blinking red. After cleaning I can see where the problem is. There’s two crack in the motor housing and noticeable rust in the crack. It’s dead.
So to me it seems just my visual inspection. The nero 3 housing porcelain isn't glued in strait which cuases the propeller to be off balance and stall at higher speeds. The nero 5 has bigger magnets so being off balance doesnt effect them as much expect it causes more noise. Their warranty is really good one year
I've had this pump going into 3 years, this being my first problem that turned into an easy fix. Most of the issues I see are people running their neros on oversized tanks at 100% all day long. Of course they're gonna fail. Most of it is user error.
@@marklumsden7480 imagine driving your car at full throttle all day every day, it's not gonna last a long or be efficient. Just my 2cents. Don't runder undersized pumps on oversized tanks 🤷
Awesome Ian! You made this process easy and approachable!
Thanks, cleaning can go a long way!

Hello Ian Watchung and liked
Thanks Bud!
First step clean pump 🤣
you can do that 100 times, that pump is shit and sooner or later you will get red light until you need to change motor
Wow change the whole motor? Nero 5/7 have this problem??
I keep hearing how shitty the lifespan is on this pump. The ratings I keep seeing are so low.

Why would they fail at 100% all the time are they designed to do that ?
