    You can always just... build a mountain or create a ravine. I built myself a floating island probably over 100x100 and it looks great. I started my world with a friend and we got a bad spawn but we did not move but when friends visit they say things like wow what a lucky seed but in reality... I grew myself a jungle, filled up a ocean, made a river and cut down an entire mountain and cleared out basically a entire desert biome. and made myself a wonderful village inside a city, made a massive but still beautiful good looking floating island and so much more. I did it entirely in survival with zero commands or keep inventory. It look time but that’s what’s so great about Minecraft. In the end it is just a matter of how dedicated you are to your world and how creative you are. This was my first time ever playing Minecraft and friends say it looks like a professional server which is very flattering. If you really don’t know what to do with your world you are lying to yourself. There is always something in your world you can build, always something you can do. It is just a matter of how much time and effort you want to put into your world.

    I used to see builds, and i would be like "I could never build something that grand" and when I would try to, i would try to do it all at once, my tip, what I would do is start off with a simple house, and keep expanding to it and add more buildings, also what cubey said is true, FIND YOUR BIOME I made this mistake with mesa biomes, always find that 10/10 and stick with your theme

      Here's my advice for survival houses. Unless you know the world you create won't go anywhere, start with a wooden box. Wooden box houses leave so much room for expansion and allow you to save up materials for the first few days (in real time.) If you're in it for the long haul, it won't matter if it takes half a year for your house to really tower and catch the eye.Also wooden boxes allow a few days of nostalgia before shifting back into epic gamer mode!

    My expectations are:
    1. Water, if there's no water I will not build there or near there enless water is near.
    2. Wood, no wood, no home.
    3. Stone, you need stone to advance.
    4. Cliffs, I can build more decorative structures there.
    5. Large flat empty arias near me, so I can build better things.

    This has actually really helped. My houses used to be big wood blobs or at best have a mediocre roof and doorway. But now my houses are nice detailed medium sized medieval style builds. But I still do use tutorials for builds. Even though I do use tutorials I look back at them and try to incorporate some elements from those in my own builds. I suggest doing that to anyone who wants to get better

    One tip I would give is that your builds don't always have to be from scratch. Much like molding the nearby terrain you can mold pregenerated structures to your advantage. I found a woodland mansion that spawned nearby a village and molded both into one mega base just by adding shape and details to both.

    • @imyuta2607
      @imyuta2607 5 років тому +4

      Modern can have the same blocks as the walls, Victorian and Traditional can have grey colors as roofs. Most of the UA-camrs doing these restrict most of the builds to medieval because it’s the easiest to plan. Others have basic shapes but more complex because of how they need to be historically accurate than medieval as how ‘medieval’ builds can just be a wooden house with a stone roof.

    The last time I watched this video was years ago. And now just having it watched again, I feel the wave of nostalgia and happiness hitting me. Cubey's videos have always felt warm and cozy to me (reminds me of home); they bring joy to me and never fail to make me love Minecraft even more than I already do. I remember watching this video all those years ago and applying the advice given to my buildings, and to this day I use the same techniques. So, thank you, Cubey and all your team, for creating amazing videos, giving great advice on building and just generally making me love and appreciate Minecraft for the wonderful game that it is! (sry for the long text, but really, thx for the content and the memories)

      I would also LOVE that. But hey even if you wouldn't put up a world DL, can you at least put up a few high res pictures of it on like imgurl or something... from different angles so we can visually "learn" about its build technique?
