I don’t have many 57’s but really appreciate the set. Would love to get the Aaron someday. As always, thanks for putting this together John, such great information.
Thanks Doug! I only have the Frank Robinson rookie and the Willie Mays. I want to get the Aaron as well as I need it for his playing days run I'm working on.
Great video/information as usual John. I do not have any 57 cards as my old this is from 58, so getting this Hank Aaron (someday) is going to be fun. I was honestly surprised that Clemente and Aaron we’re not higher, but understand that the rookie cards push them down a couple slots. Thank you!
Yes I imagine it will be a while before I pick that one up I added to 64 and 65 this week so getting closer to completing the Playing days Run (ones I can afford now anyway)
Thanks for sharing, John. Nice variety of top 10 cards. Not surprised Mantle made #1. His PSA 10 has got to be somewhere in the six figure price range. I'm thinking that the Williams & Clemente cards would fall probably at least in the five figure price range. Overall, the set has nice color Images & eye appeal.
Hey John! I love the '57 set. Right now, I'm working on getting some of those 4th series cards. One of my favorites from that series is the Wes Covington. The only thing I'm not crazy about regarding the set is the design of the team cards. I like the '56 and '58 team designs much better. Anyway, there are so many great cards in that set. Incredible some of the prices on those high-graded cards. One card I would have loved to have seen would have been a '57 Jackie Robinson. That would have been an amazing card. Take care, amigo.
Thanks! This was very entertaining. Im working on finishing the whole set (403/407) and only one of those four is on your top ten list thankfully, and its Drysdale haha. Looking forward to getting some grades, as I only have 4 graded at the moment (One being Mantle at a Becket 5.5 which I want to crossover to PSA for). Still figuring out the best way to sell it once Im done.👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Depending on the grade, the Drysdale is a pretty affordable card. I don't have one yet, but I hope to someday. I have several BVG graded vintage cards that I want to eventually switch over to PSA for consistency in my collection. If you don't want to go the eBay route to sell your set, the next best option would be to post it on one of the vintage baseball card groups on Facebook. There are a lot of deals that get done on that site.
@@WadeBoggsFan Update: My set is now complete at 408/407 (Bazooka Checklist #1 as a bonus). Picked up the Drysdale at a PSA 6 for $280, so not too bad. Now to start the process of sending the good ones in for grading and figuring out what to upgrade. For sure want to get a better Ted Williams, as mine is only a PSA 4 right now. 😅
a little surprised that he's in 9th place I would have thought 5th place or soo surprised to see Homerun king in 5th place I see Frank Robinson has Homerun kings position No surprise there as we see alot of collectors showing Frank's card certainly surprised that Home Run king, Mays and Clemente weren't in the 2 to 5 positions but well deserved that the 2 rookie cards were in those positions.
Understood. If you look at the difference in prices between some of the cards, it's not much from one spot to the next. So in the future the rankings could change.
I have to agree that in terms of overall design the 57 set isn't very exciting. But I think Topps did a minimal design on the front in order to highlight the color photos that were used by them for the first time (Bowman first did it in 53).
Great looking set! 🔥 Thanks for the history of the purchases in this great set!
Yes it is! Glad you liked it!
Super video John. All those cards are fantastic. Enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ed!
Awesome video John, really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Orlando!
Thanks, John. I'm building this set, and have 2 of those yet to get.
Nice Eric! While you're missing 2 I only have 2 - the Frank Robinson rookie and the Willie Mays. 😃
Awesome video with a lot of awesome information on a beautiful set of cards! Have a great day!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the 57 set. I am working on the HOF set.
I like the overall design as well. I have a long ways to go to complete the HOF run. I only have 2 - Frank Robinson rookie and the Willie Mays.

Thanks for sharing the data, John. This set has really grown on me in the last year. There are a lot of cards in this set I want!
Thanks Billy! I like the set as well. I only have two cards from the set - the Frank Robinson rookie and the Willie Mays.
@@WadeBoggsFan You have 2 good ones!
Thanks!

Thanks James! I still need the 57 for my Aaron run.

Nice! I really like his 64 card.

Thanks Kevin. I agree that the Mantle PSA 10 would be up there in the six figures somewhere. I like the design as well overall.

Thanks Gannon! A 57 Jackie card would have been awesome to go along with the Campanella card!

As for sets 52-59. It’s my least favorite. I think it’s because there’s not much going on with the front of the card where other years have more art.
