The reunion of Xion, Axel, and Roxas in Kingdom Hearts 3 was the one part of this game that made me cry. For some reason, I was impacted the most by their story, followed closely by Ven, Terra, and Aqua's and it just made me so happy when they were back together. Not to mention that they, too, were crying.
That's because out of all the characters friendships Sea Salt Trios felt like an actual friendship. The laughed and cried together, they fought and made up, they listened to each others worries and concerns. It's the most organically written friendship I've ever seen in entertainment period. And it hits you so hard because you truly feel like these characters have become your friends and you watch as your friends disappear one by one until you're the only one left.
This year, I'll be cosplaying Xion for halloween. I had my hair cut to her exact style, and i ordered the blue contacts already. i just need the coat, and I already have the keyblade. I'm so excited.

Everything is stagnant here in this neoliberal shithole, everyone is so indifferent to everything and so individualistic, people only seek to escape society through drugs, gambling, sex, gaming, shopping or whatever else. It's all a big cope with a smiling face mask hiding it, I'm fed up, looking to join some form of activism organization or political organization grounded in factual unbiased analysis driven by care for people and bringing palpable solutions, in hopes that in the future, people won't have to go through this torture.
Sure but KH has had some localization changes from Japanese to English, such as this one. As people who only speak Japanese, they are likely unaware of how the English version is different than the original Japanese version, as it isn't their job to translate.

I love how Xion's track has whispers of Kairi's theme in it. It goes to show how ingrained Kairi's influence is on Sora since Xion is technically an extension of him
I don't really care what people say about Xion. She's still one of my favorite characters in the franchise. Her death impacted me more than it did with any other death in the series, and even more than Sora's Sacrifice. Despite the flaws 358/2 Days had, I still love this game. It has a beautiful story, a great soundtrack, and it has some great development for Roxas and Xion. I also loved Axel in this game. I know Who Else Will I have Ice Cream With is a bit of a stupid line at first, but it's meant to be a sign of Friendship, since Nobodies couldn't feel emotion.
Trust me, i felt the same way. I did not like Xionat first. But then i began to like her as the story progressed. I like her more than Kairi and Aqua. She grew to me as a character and the same for roxas. I really do hope to see her in KH3. Like said in Dream drop distance nobodies do in fact have hearts. When the body does not have a heart it tries to create a new one. So in a sense they had hearts just it was not developed. I hope they both come back in the end. They were my favorite characters.
Xion has always been one of those characters who I don't know whether to love or hate, her story was great and her death was sad but if someone is new to the game and doesn't understand the the full story then her story is pointless unless they do something big in KH3. Sorry if this sounds mean but this is just what I think.
I'm a composer. My whole MO is taking what's inside and giving it voice. For that reason, this and Vector are the best songs in all of KH and it's not even close. The best examples of the raw emotions of the story, the setting, and especially the characters being given raw and heartbreaking form.

Man I played this game when I was 6 a little after my parents divorce. I was extremely vulnerable still learning to process my emotions. And when I beat this game. Even with what little emotion I learned I was just bawling.
I just realised part of the reason we love Xion so much is because she is the Kingdom Hearts equivalent of Tidus ffrom Final Fantasy X. They both come out of virtually nowhere and yet they bring growth, happiness and a bit more colour into the life of our main character of the *Story*. SPOILERS BELOW. At the end, they both have to "die" in order for something to go back to normal and the main character is left without someone they loved (either platonically or romantically). Only major difference is that Roxas is also similar to Tidus or more like Jecht because he too was fabricated from nowhere and unfortunately on the side of darkness/evil. Eventually he "returns" to make the universe correct as well.
I love this idea, especially since you referenced one of my other favorite games, Final Fantasy X. Xion and Roxas are such fantastic characters, and Axel too of course.

I had only played Re:Coded when I played Days and not knowing much about the series, fully expected a happy ending. The final few scenes were just heartwrending... This is possibly the best track in the series. Just perfect.
And ironically... Re:coded was priming you to prepare for difficult truths. To face the hurt. Ten years later, now... I hope you're doing well. We all have a lot of hurt still to face.

358/2 days will always be my favorite KH game. Yeah the gameplay was pretty awful, but Axel, Roxas, and Xion made me feel way more emotion than I did for the OG trio. They were all nobodys with no hearts or feelings but still grew close and became the closest friends, Xion in particular is my favorite character from the franchise

The memories... they're coming back. Why? _Sora._ Roxas? _I need your help. There's... something that we need to reclaim... something that connected our hearts. That's what's binding me to this world - the last key. I need your help... to get it back._ Okay. I have an idea. Wait for my signal. _Okay._
Even more than Naminé being technicallyan impossibility.... Just the fact that Xion exists is just plain tragic... I mean... She was made to be Roxas' spare, Sora's replica, and was based on Sora's memories... of Kairi, not himself. She's a prototype who failed almost by default right there. At least Naminé was a Nobody of somebody who *actually* exists. Xion was born from incomplete memories of somebody else altogether... *not* the of the orginal from whim they were extracted. By her very nature, she's not just conceptually and existentially unstable... she never had a real identity to begin with other then as a crappy backup... of a dude. The fact that Roxas sees her the way she does, a pretty much black haired Kairi is rather telling. See, her form is based on the observor's connection to Sora, the base template for the replica. Now, Saix saw her with the hood, Xigbar and Xemnas saw Ven, Riku saw Sora... and Roxas was the only one (initally) who saw her as herself right from the beginning. The reason whe never looked like Kairi, other then for the meta, most logically lies in the fact that Roxas has no memories of being Sora despite being Sora, for whom his heart and leaking memories, are still very much tethered... and is the crux of Xemnas' backup plan. Essentially, Xion looks the way she does bc she's Kairi but not... much like Naminé... but for *VERY different* reasons Cause a death of personality by forcibly overriding the emergent and still very much unstable ego with the intended persona and memory data by siphoning off Roxas' leaking memories of Sora himself. The rest of that tragedy we already know all to well. Out of everyone... she deserved her own existence most strongly to me after Roxas and followed by Naminé. Then comes KH3... and I squee in happiness bc I get my wish * AND* see her with Roxas.

When you think about it, Xion, Roxas and Axel are probably the few characters in Organization XIII that are friends. In a similar way, in Akatsuki, Itachi and Kisame are one of the few to be friends. Then, there is also Nagato and Konan...
Idris Amadi I think that it was more like great respect for each other in the case of Itachi and Kisame. But still, I really liked their partnership ;)
I wish i had an emotional connection to xion like these comments but i dont really feel anything? Roxas is the one im attached to the most and if i think about him for more than a min i start crying
She's not TRULY gone, as with DDD, Sora saw her in his dream, and thus awakened all of Roxas' memories of his time with her. I think that may have also unlocked Lea and Riku's memories of her as well. If that's the case, even though her physical form is no more, she's still in their hearts and will remain there forever.
The two songs from square Enix that always fuck me up are this and "you're not alone" from final fantasy 9. Funnily enough the two characters I love most are xion and Vivi.
Sometimes I wish that instead of Xion returning to Sora, it was the other way around. Honestly, I think the Sora part of the game is so childish. I loved the Organization part of the game because it was so sophisticated and kept you playing it. While playing the game I instantly fell in love and did not care about any other game in the series. Among the whole Kingdom Hearts series my favourite characters are ALL from the Organization ( Besides Riku ) and I feel like they all have so much character and style. I felt that Xion was the type of person who knew to much and kept to herself and I was pretty devastated when she died ( Sorta ) and that is when I started hating Sora.
The Org has some of my favorite characters (Xigbar and Axle/Lea) but Sora IS childish, even during KHII he was childish, he WAS asleep for a while, so he was a bit behind in terms of maturity, that is one of the reasons I liked Roxas, even in the short time he was around, he was already more mature then sora and also was quicker to anger, something Sora needed, to quote DiZ, "You should share some of that hatred with Sora, he's far too nice for his own good."
For a time. I felt that they sacrificed too much for Sora. But in the end. Through Sora, they were free and succeeded in destroying the organisation and setting kingdom hearts free. Only hoping that in 3 all of them face Xehanort together. Let the keyblade war begin.
If Xion was just a copy. A Plan B, that wasn't supossed to feel anything, a thing that was constantly told that she was nothing, then how the fuck did I cry so much when she died. Because she was real to Roxas, to Axel, and to me...

In Japanese, Roxas says "No! The three of us can eat ice cream later" as though he's trying to influence her to not go...

Well in this game, Nobodies didn't have emotions. I mean, technically they do, since Roxas actually cried when Xion died.

358/2 days will always be my favorite KH game. Yeah the gameplay was pretty awful, but Axel, Roxas, and Xion made me feel way more emotion than I did for the OG trio. They were all nobodys with no hearts or feelings but still grew close and became the closest friends, Xion in particular is my favorite character from the franchise

Just the fact that Xion exists is just plain tragic...
I mean...
She was made to be Roxas' spare, Sora's replica, and was based on Sora's memories... of Kairi, not himself.
She's a prototype who failed almost by default right there.
At least Naminé was a Nobody of somebody who *actually* exists.
Xion was born from incomplete memories of somebody else altogether... *not* the of the orginal from whim they were extracted.
By her very nature, she's not just conceptually and existentially unstable... she never had a real identity to begin with other then as a crappy backup... of a dude.
The fact that Roxas sees her the way she does, a pretty much black haired Kairi is rather telling.
See, her form is based on the observor's connection to Sora, the base template for the replica.
Now, Saix saw her with the hood, Xigbar and Xemnas saw Ven, Riku saw Sora... and Roxas was the only one (initally) who saw her as herself right from the beginning.
The reason whe never looked like Kairi, other then for the meta, most logically lies in the fact that Roxas has no memories of being Sora despite being Sora, for whom his heart and leaking memories, are still very much tethered... and is the crux of Xemnas' backup plan. Essentially, Xion looks the way she does bc she's Kairi but not... much like Naminé... but for *VERY different* reasons
Cause a death of personality by forcibly overriding the emergent and still very much unstable ego with the intended persona and memory data by siphoning off Roxas' leaking memories of Sora himself.
The rest of that tragedy we already know all to well.
Out of everyone... she deserved her own existence most strongly to me after Roxas and followed by Naminé.
Then comes KH3... and I squee in happiness bc I get my wish * AND* see her with Roxas.

Cada maldita vez que lo juego me emociono a pesar de saber de sobras lo que va a ocurrir. Esta canción es perfecta. Resume de una manera increíble los sentimientos del jugador.

When you think about it, Xion, Roxas and Axel are probably the few characters in Organization XIII that are friends. In a similar way, in Akatsuki, Itachi and Kisame are one of the few to be friends. Then, there is also Nagato and Konan...

She's not TRULY gone, as with DDD, Sora saw her in his dream, and thus awakened all of Roxas' memories of his time with her. I think that may have also unlocked Lea and Riku's memories of her as well. If that's the case, even though her physical form is no more, she's still in their hearts and will remain there forever.
That just rekindled some hope within my BROKEN heart.... Im glad she's still with us

Sometimes I wish that instead of Xion returning to Sora, it was the other way around. Honestly, I think the Sora part of the game is so childish. I loved the Organization part of the game because it was so sophisticated and kept you playing it. While playing the game I instantly fell in love and did not care about any other game in the series. Among the whole Kingdom Hearts series my favourite characters are ALL from the Organization ( Besides Riku ) and I feel like they all have so much character and style. I felt that Xion was the type of person who knew to much and kept to herself and I was pretty devastated when she died ( Sorta ) and that is when I started hating Sora.
It's fine to be sad (I was too) but hating Sora? That's like hating kingdom hearts itself.
The Org has some of my favorite characters (Xigbar and Axle/Lea) but Sora IS childish, even during KHII he was childish, he WAS asleep for a while, so he was a bit behind in terms of maturity, that is one of the reasons I liked Roxas, even in the short time he was around, he was already more mature then sora and also was quicker to anger, something Sora needed, to quote DiZ, "You should share some of that hatred with Sora, he's far too nice for his own good."
For a time. I felt that they sacrificed too much for Sora. But in the end. Through Sora, they were free and succeeded in destroying the organisation and setting kingdom hearts free. Only hoping that in 3 all of them face Xehanort together. Let the keyblade war begin.

If Xion was just a copy. A Plan B, that wasn't supossed to feel anything, a thing that was constantly told that she was nothing, then how the fuck did I cry so much when she died. Because she was real to Roxas, to Axel, and to me...
