This was still one of my favorite fights in the game. The aesthetic, the nice difficulty, the boss singing her own theme music, the sudden introduction to hacking that you would never see until much later. It was a GREAT fight and I'm glad I picked up Nier: Automata. Hard to believe this was about to be a (presumably) shitty Mobile game.
Rayce. Rumler its crazy how this is literally the first time I've heard about such an amazing franchise. I'm glad to say that I'm apart of the yoko taro crazy hype train now! Shit is one of my favorite games of all time. I legitimately shed some tears throughout the game. Also, do you think this will be the last game in the nier series? Or do you think the ending was open ended enough to continue or do another timeline? And yea I watched a 30 minute video summarizing drakenguard and nier.. shit is crazy as hell
LilJay301 Yeah, the original was very underrated and over looked, but it made my top 5 games ive ever played lol. To be honest, these games are some of the biggest feels trips ive ever been on. It may be convoluted if Automata was the first Yoko Taro game youve ever played, but its facinating, isnt it? Also, I cant say for sure, but I think some of the endings leave room for a kickass sequel.
Fast fact: Simone was the name of a French philosopher, who had a long-term open relationship with another philosopher named Jean-Paul. Both were accused of grooming and abusing minor female students, what made Simone lose her license as a teacher. That's is why the machine on the game "grooms" other androids in order to call Jean-Paul's attention, what is something that the real Simone has also done. It took me some time to catch that detail.
3 years after finishing the game, I come back here to have an epiphany. Beauty is indeed the easiest way to get affection, but the saying goes: "what's easy is usually cheap too", isn't it. It changed my understanding of love, and with my change on views, I'll work towards changing my behavior as well.
0:45 - 1:10 **Modern English Translation** This pompous scene With silver tongue We sing a song of horror Begin the song This timeless song We'll swim and drown in slaughter
@@professoremil Then again, it's chaos language. It can be interpreted any way the listener hears it. It is beautiful either way. One of my favorites here, next to Alien Manifestation, Amusement Park, and City Ruins.
I played this game in my 20’s, I’m now 34…and this song/story still makes me cry…I cannot get over what happens to this boss character, it is extremely tragic……
Simone's story is interesting and very sad at the same time, you get the whole picture of it on the second play-through , damn i felt sad when i saw it :( .... damn you yoko taro!
I've finally [P]layed nie[R] a few days ago and it was [O]ne of, if not the best gaming experience i've ever felt, [P]layed, and seen. This game is art and I wish I c[O]uld era[S]e my memory and experience it [A]gain, even after beating the game I'm still hit with new stuff throughout I [L]ove that This is art and that's an understatement.
I'm years late, and I know I'm years late, but every boss in this game that had a sufficient backstory made me sad. All of them. Engels, Simone, A2, even Adam and Eve
Likely many others never looked her way, too. Including us. Her head, her face is below what appears to be her neck, sitting comfortably as though she's a little gem on a necklace. Look her way.
its odd how both androids and robots both who got to experience a glimmer of what its like to be human just completely lost its mind, or suffered great painsand proceeded to self destruct
I find it really sad that he also can't help it. A bunch of girls go crazy over him not even noticing their affections, because his attention and mind are somewhere else entirely. To me, this makes Simone's fate even more painful.
I know its late but on the third note, where the song really starts, I swear there is a pain filled scream mixed in. The sung part, like the first two notes, remains, but you can also hear someone really screaming in agony
What I love about this boss is what seems like a surface level sad story in A route, it turns into a really tragic story as you get more details in route B in. A nice attention to detail, that the boss moves and acts in sync with the music, blasting off her abilities at key moments in the music is just pure perfection!
This only shows how perspective make difference. 2B saw only enemy. 9S saw machine that "is hurting a lot" (and yet didn't believe it, we know how 9S behaved and what he believed). But it's really good example to not judge book by it's cover. Everone have flaws and everyone "want to look perfect for everyone".
@@TriggerAzimuth Indeed, that's one of the main reasons I love this game so much is how it tackles the perspectives of the viewer (us) and 2B and 9S's story and how they slowly change throughout. Like 2B has literal PTSD of killing 9S over and over again and that's why she is so (over)protective sometimes. Love the nuances of the story and some of the side quests also pack a punch.
@@setakh Yea, that too. Especially that you got a lot of tips that 2B isn't 2B at all. Don't want to make spoilers xD But it's not normal that Battler or Scanner got "quests" that contains literally killing other androids (I mean story with 2A and side quest "Betrayers of YoRha") Like... You could think about it ealier but... You as a player so much believe that all that 2B and 9S are saying that niuances like this one is like.... Slipping. And I mean seriously!
@@TriggerAzimuth I think when it really start to dawn on players what was really it like when you meet with a resistance android in a side quest in the 2nd half of the game, that wants to find the killer of her best friend, only to realise that she was the one who killed it and regains her memories that she is actually an eradicator type, not a battle type, just erased her own memories since she couldn't handle killing her best friends over and over again. Yikes. A2's story is quite dark as well and makes the later revelations of the story hit that much deeper once you get to know her side of the story on the 2nd playthrough when in the last part you switch between 9S and A2. So far, this is my miles one of the best stories I've played. So nice it has so many endings as well (5 main and 21 small if I remember correctly...?). Also the anime that came out really bumped the already big fanbase it had xD
@@setakh Yup, 26 endings at all, like base alphabet (one letter per ending). And yes, I agree. It throws at you many thoughts about life itself and yet about game. Like nobody will ever know why 9S infected whole bunker with logical virus in the first place... We can only imagine if he was just so stupid or he was like mastermind knowing how everybody around will react. Looking at the outcome, hI think he was mastermind with one flaw: he didn't know about why Bunker exist and this destroyed him. He wanted to throw Bunker under bus because he REMEMBERS that 2B killed him like... 48 times... And he knows she isn't 2B. His reaction when 2A asking him if he knew.... He knew. He shows it that he did.
In a weird way, she does look rather beautiful. Excluding the corpses , she's got a nice dress, her proportions are even, and her abilities are rather strong, even if it does need a network. The guy that didn't notice her is a fool at minimum.

Nier and Drakengard series have a weird language that is a mix of many others: Evans wrote songs in versions of Scottish Gaelic, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, English and Japanese, and wrote "Song of the Ancients" in an entirely fictional language. She wrote that song by listening to songs in as many languages as possible and jumbling them up together. For the other languages, she tried to imagine what they would sound like after 1000 years of drifting
When it played during the 9S scène murdering massively machines in the tower, I realized... This is'nt just Simone theme, this is the theme of madness and obsession

It perfectly matches the story that one of the robots seeking and questioning the meaning of self existence but going into a dead end and madness, just like......
1:48 fun fact: the singer here basically says "fa male qui nel cuore" witch in Italian means "i feel pain in my heart" or "my heart hurts"
4 years late but the shitty mobile game it was supposed to be was SINoALICE, which is about as good as mobile games get.
This boss fight really makes me think of Puella Magica.
Five years later, I'm using this boss fight theme for a Puella magica roleplay.
My first nier game man.. and I gotta say..The story in this game is sooo fucked up man.
It really is, and it was masterfully executed.
Count Artorias gonna go down as a classic without a doubt. Such a unique experience.
LilJay301 The original nier was just as fucked lol. But what lacked in gameplay it made up in storytelling.
His f*cking loss. This was by far the most beautiful fight in the game.
This freaking gives me chills. One of the greatest boss themes.
Look what you've done, Jean Paul !

This pompous scene
With silver tongue
We sing a song of horror
Begin the song
This timeless song
We'll swim and drown in slaughter

This is a song of disaster
Fate of robot Simone... *set* *go*
Thιгδ Σγε whoa... those are the lyrics...
Christopher Hayes Possibly, but it's still a fanmade interpretation and could be entirely wrong. No one knows for sure.
@@professoremil Then again, it's chaos language. It can be interpreted any way the listener hears it. It is beautiful either way. One of my favorites here, next to Alien Manifestation, Amusement Park, and City Ruins.
Sometimes i wonder how yoko taro brain is, to create these perfectly psychological meanings and personalities, this man is brilliant.
I played this game in my 20’s, I’m now 34…and this song/story still makes me cry…I cannot get over what happens to this boss character, it is extremely tragic……
I’m back after episode 4 of the anime and it’s still as amazing as I remember
もっと・・・・・キレイになるんだぁぁぁァァァァ!!!!
The lore, atmosphere, setting, and the ost. Dark Souls worthy of a boss.
Sorry but I have to say Dark Souls is nothing compared to this dark psychological masterpiece.
Robot gone crazy when their "feelings" are not reciprocated.
Simone's story is interesting and very sad at the same time, you get the whole picture of it on the second play-through , damn i felt sad when i saw it :( .... damn you yoko taro!
Simone is one of the many things that taught us that love can cause anyone to go insane.
I've finally [P]layed nie[R] a few days ago and it was [O]ne of, if not the best gaming experience i've ever felt, [P]layed, and seen.
This game is art and I wish I c[O]uld era[S]e my memory and experience it [A]gain, even after beating the game I'm still hit with new stuff throughout I [L]ove that
This is art
and that's an understatement.
I have only one thing to say, the caos language is beautifull
Proposal for route C, bring a tissue or ten
It's 2022 and this game is one of, if not [T]he best game I ever played. Played it a month ago and still can't stop listening to Automata music.
This is one of the best songs in Automata maybe even in gaming
I'm years late, and I know I'm years late, but every boss in this game that had a sufficient backstory made me sad. All of them. Engels, Simone, A2, even Adam and Eve
Now I need the 8-bit hacking version
Me too
Immediate goosebumps holy shit can't wait to get the game
This game just keeps making you cry. You are hurting but you can't stop.
Likely many others never looked her way, too. Including us.
Her head, her face is below what appears to be her neck, sitting comfortably as though she's a little gem on a necklace.
Look her way.
Its 2020
And this ost is still one of the greatest ost in gaming history❤
just finished the game for the first time, and it was on ps5, what a legendary game
This is by far my favorite boss in this game, everything was perfect
That agonizing scream hidden in the beginning hits me after learning about this boss as a character.
its odd how both androids and robots both who got to experience a glimmer of what its like to be human just completely lost its mind, or suffered great painsand proceeded to self destruct
The OST is incredible good..some times i would stop playing just so i could hear the music better
I just love how half the comments here are "F*@K YOU JEAN-PAUL" XD
xd
I find it really sad that he also can't help it.
A bunch of girls go crazy over him not even noticing their affections, because his attention and mind are somewhere else entirely.
To me, this makes Simone's fate even more painful.
I still can't get over this game
It's just... so perfect
This song got me into Nier Automata
This is on of my all time favorite boss fights in a game. Amazing fight, amazing soundtrack, amazing backstory.
its my fav of all time
To this very day, no matter how many times I hear this song, I ALWAYS get chills from the beginning sequence.
a masterpiece, one of a lifetime experience. i really wish i could erase all my memories just to experience this game once again
best boss fight in the game... and that's philosophy abouth beautifulness... god i love this game
Route B gave this a whole another meaning holy shit
Even after finishing this amazing game , i can not get this song out of my head 😍😍
Nier : Automata has one of the best OSTs in video games history 👍🏻
I know its late but on the third note, where the song really starts, I swear there is a pain filled scream mixed in. The sung part, like the first two notes, remains, but you can also hear someone really screaming in agony
I thought only I'm so crazy to hear that or was just imagining. Good to know there are ppl who hear it too.
i think im addicted to the scream sound in the first part ,i keep on repeating it , feel empowering for some reason !!
"I need to be more beautiful , beautiful, beautifullllllll"
J'Nique has such a deep alto voice, I love her just as much as Emi.
Words cannot describe the hype I felt when I saw the thumbnail for this video.
My life is one step closer to being complete.
dude... this is epic, I can't express my feelings, I don't have enough words to describe such epicness
we all want to get our memory erased to play this game again, and watch SNK again XD
She has a Persona vibe to her look.
Millady
Lol
I KNOW RIGHT??
I had a feeling but I couldn't put my finger on what it was, now that you say it, she really does
@@arsenelupin1854 oh my god she does kind of look like Milady!
In a weird way, she does look rather beautiful. Excluding the corpses , she's got a nice dress, her proportions are even, and her abilities are rather strong, even if it does need a network. The guy that didn't notice her is a fool at minimum.
The amazing thing about this machine is it learned to hack and is the only machine that could hack androids.
@@00vondough00 the logic virus would like to disagree with you. this machine while not part of the network anymore could have used that to it's advantage
A beautiful song with a beautiful voice
simone : "LOOK AAATMEEEE"
yoko taro : "lets move the camera away from her"
I just stumbled across this video(haven’t played the game) and found it hauntingly beautiful.
Please play the game it's a masterpiece
Yup, music is masterpiece. Sights are just as good. And story is beyond imagining. 6 years after game release and it's still gaining fans. Believe me, it's worth your time.
This game is like no other when u play it for the first time the feeling of running around slashing and shooting robots that want to kill u is like no other feeling not just because of the gameplay but the music the music in this game is the reason why it’s so good in my opinion the music sets the tone it make u feel like a badass like a god, truly one of the best ost in gaming, when the music comes on in this game there is no time to die just fight, fight, and fight till u can’t no more
This is one of my favorite songs from the game's OST so far, right above Weight of The World.
This boss was a monster that needed to be put down for the safety of everyone. It’s story is tragic yes, but it’s still a monstrous serial killer, cannibal, rogue robot who’s a threat to everyone.
this song, this game.... goty 2017
Before B route: die horrible abomination!!
After B route: Simone you are the most beautifull 😢.

Nier and Drakengard series have a weird language that is a mix of many others:
Evans wrote songs in versions of Scottish Gaelic, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, English and Japanese, and wrote "Song of the Ancients" in an entirely fictional language. She wrote that song by listening to songs in as many languages as possible and jumbling them up together. For the other languages, she tried to imagine what they would sound like after 1000 years of drifting
Edd Alv waw
#Edd Alv are you musician? your ears are really better than mine... you did a good job
When you Murder Your friends For you to be more beautiful but the man u love still wont notice your existence.
Amazing !!! New Nier got it !!:)
Yes, indeed! This is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard
Count Artorias definitely is!
i love when they occasionally use some of the first Nier ost's aswell. Thank god SE revived this franchise
When it played during the 9S scène murdering massively machines in the tower, I realized...
This is'nt just Simone theme, this is the theme of madness and obsession
This voice... MAAAAN the goosebumps
I could listen to this song all day long.
When machines get emotions, we end up with beautifull songs like this one. Her pain is music to my ears ... Wait ! It is music !
Top 5 boss fights ever made.
Soundtrack is in the top 3 best boss themes ever made.
My gosh this is powerful.
