A message from Kristine, founder of NurseInTheMaking📣
My name is Kristine and I survived nursing school…and you can too!
Nurse In The Making was inspired during my time in nursing school. I immediately struggled and decided to create my own study guides. These guides have helped me personally as well as many others make nursing school just a little more manageable.I hope you find comfort knowing that everyone struggles at times. Nursing school is emotionally and physically draining. I hope these informative, clean, and simple guides help you navigate through all the information because there is A LOT of it in nursing school.
Happy Studying Future Nurses. Don't forget to enjoy the journey!

I thought interstitial fluid was outside the cells and intracellular fluid is inside the cells. Help?
*Correction * - Third spacing is the nonfunctional area between the cells! Sorry for any confusion and thank you to those who brought this to my attention. Unfortunately, I can't edit the video, so I will pin this comment to the top for everyone! I also noticed the typo "overdehydrtated" - this should say overhydrated! 💛
You're helping me through RT school, too!!!!! These videos are the most well done, professional, full-bodied videos I've ever found online. In addition, Kristine is a REALLY GOOD orator. No fluff, all point, great timing, descriptive body language. I've already ordered content from you're site and I feel like I have an edge already because Im not spending hours making diagrams. Thank you SO much!
Aw, thank you so much for your kind words! Really glad to hear that my content is helpful.
If only my professors could explain this as clear and simplified as you!!! This genuinely helps a lot
Happy to help! You got this!
Good job Kristine!
Thank you!!
Thanks
This was sooo helpful. I don’t know how the lecturers manage to make things so complicated! Thank you!! 💕
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome! ❤️
will you be making more videos like this for the rest of the electrolytes? this was so helpful! I would love to see more for hypo/hypernatremia!
I think making videos for each section in your bundle is great it helps me follow along better. And reading something is wayyyy different than having it explained. So even more videos about the content in your bundles would be amazing.
this was the most simple and clear video ive found on youtube explaining this! please make more of the rest of the fluid imbalances!

dehydration and FVD not exactly the same thing
another mistake...interstitial is not INSIDE THE CELL
This is the best explanation so far for concepts. No unnecessary mnemonics and stuff. So direct to the point! Love your videos ❤
Nurse Kristine is a great teacher and delivers the lessons in a way to is not too complicated, easy to follow and straight to the point. I love the format for all of your videos. Great job!
Love the way you teach! Absolutely amazing, and super helpful!
Glad it was helpful! :)
So, I wanna thank you, 15sec in you taught me more than I think my entire RN program ❤
I thought Polyuria was for hypervolemia not hypervolemia..
Thank you for your question! Can you please clarify what you thought Polyuria was for so I can better answer your question? Thank you!
The interstitial space is not the cell it’s the space between the cell and the vein. Intercellular would be inside the cell. Idk if someone said that I didn’t get to all the comments
Yes, you are correct, and I am so sorry for the error! Third spacing is the nonfunctional area between the cells! Sorry for any confusion and thank you for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately, I can't edit the video, so I pinned a comment with the correction to the top for everyone!
I’m student nursing from Iraq thank you 😊❤
Holy smokes this was amazing my friend! Subscribed!! I already knew the concept but enjoy watching videos to reinforce the knowledge and solidify it. Fantastic work!
So grateful for you!! I'm taking pathophysiology right now and the way you break down the information plus the visually appealing graphics definitely helped me understand the material better!
You're so welcome! Glad it was helpful. :)
Been trying to find an easiest way to understand the difference of these fluid imbalances and luckily found your YT. Thanks a bunch!
Why there will be elevated BUN in oliguria? When patient is in hypervolemic state. Please reply could not find it anywhere.
Very usefull teaching..good work dear.
Found my way here going down a rabbit hole about sepsis and septic shock suffered from it due to a UTI that was nearly asymptomatic until I went to bed and it hit my kidneys 9 hours later Can confirm very hellish lucid fever dream, everybody stay hydrated. great video honestly very informative in a very easy to process way
Crazy my mom just suffered septic shock in her visit to the ER because they just put her on a IV drip from 2pm to 8pm then doctors tell me she had a cardiac arrest that could’ve happened from the septic shock because her white blood cell count was too high. This all from a UTI that’s been reoccurring for 2 months and no anti biotic was working. It’s starting to seem like her body was already weak from the UTI and the hospitals negligence of just putting her on a saline drip for 6 hours (43 years old-100lbs} also seemed to have caused hypervolemia. UTIs really are serious, now my mom has severe anoxic injury with only some brain stem function. The delay of care and negligence of hospitals in nyc are wild.
How do we get diagnosed for this is I lost weight and have been dealing with POTS ever since 😢
So much easier to understand now 🥰 thank you!!

0:38 Volemia doesnt solely means volume. Vol means volume and mia means in the blood
You are correct! That's why I said there isn't enough volume in the vessels AKA the blood! :)
Thank you so much for explaining that. I watched this video and automatically subscribed. Thanks too for the cheat sheet, AMAZING!!
Third spacing is the area BETWEEN the cells - not in the cells. Other than that, helpful video!
Yes, you are correct! So sorry about that. Third spacing is the nonfunctional area between the cells! Sorry for any confusion, and thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have another comment pinned to the top for clarification. Best of luck to you in your nursing career! -Kristine 🙂

I don't understand difference between hypervolemia and hypovolemia in terms of increased heart rate .... please explain
Hi, Priya! In Hypovolemia, they have a high heart rate because the heart is trying to compensate and push fluid forward since the body desperately needs it. In Hypervolemia they also have a high heart rate because there is so much fluid in the system, so the pulse will be bounding! They both have high heart rates, but they are for 2 different reasons. I hope this helps 🙂-Kristine
