- Hello and welcome to scale stuff ,in this weeks video I give my review on the Tamiya 1:35 scale SAS Pink panther or "pinky" model kit.
In this video I talk about how the model goes together and take a look at a few areas where you might have some issues with building this kit.
I also talk about how I went about painting this scale model kit and give a brief history on the reason why this land rover was painted pink for use in the desert.
As always thank you for watching the video I hope that you find my review helpful if you are planning on building one of these scale models at home
Anyway until next time look after yourselves and have a good one
Impressive details, great job!
Cheers mate thank you
Beautiful 👍👍
Thanks glad you like it
Just brought this kit . Have made the majority of the older Tamiya kits over the years the Marder l being a particular favourite which l've made several times . The pink panther was one of the few l never got around to until now . Good video . l look forward to bulding and painting it (better late than never) . Cheers.
Oh now the marder is something on my to get list, what does it go together like? Glad you have got round to it in the end tho mate, its a nice kit, if you have built old tamiya before shouldnt throw anything new at you, getting the pink right is tricky, But the paint was mixed by hand so there is a bit of a lee way on the tone of them
Awesome work, turned out great
Cheers mate thank you
Not done any modelling for a few years now but have recently collected the Pink Panther, SAS Jeep and LRDG Chevrolet from Tamiya and the “Commando Car” European version of the WWII SAS Jeep from Italeri plus photo etch sets for each vehicle. Quite looking forward to building them as a bit of a SAS history group. I don’t mind older kits, the whole lot was cheaper than a new release big tank…. Many thanks for the colour tip for the pink, I think yours looks really good
That's a good opening line up to get back into the hobby, the LRDG is on the list for me as I have done the other two. Yeah its what you make of them as well, and photo etch on those old models will bring them right up to spec. Thank you, glad to have been of help mate. Wish you all the best with your builds
Good job - I fancy this kit myself, cheers Liam
Cheers mate, Its a decent kit to have a go at and wont break the bank
Good work, goes to show keep a full spares box don't throw anything.
Deffo, Ive got a couple of bits box's now, trouble is you dont need them for ages then one kit will drain them down to nothing and then you need to re build them
I am building this kit just now and have got some photo etch and 3D decals for it. I totally agree with you on the jerry cans, what were Tamiya thinking?
Owww nice, bet the photo etech will really set it off, whats the etech for guns and fine details? Yeah I think the jerry cans where a bit of a hang over to older kits maybe?
Di dum, di dum, di dum di dum di dum di dum di duuuuuuum di di di di dum.
wrong pink panther you loon!
Is this kit still in production?
Surprisingly yes I've seen them just come in to my local hobby store only the other week, unless its back stock
