Hello and welcome to Scale Stuff .
I enjoy building scale models and making UA-cam videos
On this channel I share my hobby and try and help out my fellow model makers even if that is just by showing where I went wrong!
On my channel you can expect;
In depth builds reviews models of kits that I have made, I like to show what is in the box, how the kit builds, and how I paint the model. I am not a fan of just looking at the sprues in a plastic model kit and calling it done, as so much can crop up along the way with any build. I also like to drop in a bit about the real subject vehicle.
Though the channel is mostly model making and painting, from time to time I also release videos around my other hobbies such as free flight and model boat building, however these are few and far between and wont replace the normal model video releases
I release a video every other week on Monday at 4:30 GMT time
Anyway thank you for stopping by I hope you enjoy the channel

Tamiya 1/35 scale King Tiger Full build Review
I desperately wanted this product to be my go to wash. So, I ordered them from half way round the world! Literally. I tried them, as we all know washes can be confusing. I love the Citadel washes COLORS.....but HATE the acrylic base, as you cannot go back in, and refine to clean up. Enamels can adversely affect your base colors, even when having a clear coat below. These Flory ones SEEMED like an answer. Water based but can be adjusted, removed, and added to. Sounds great. But my experience was disappointing. In essence they are just smearing a mudpie, over your model. I felt the end result did not provide the lovely effect, like enamels say, around details , rivets and so forth. But rather just looked like grainy dirt, packed into the corners. Granted, my experience might be uncommon, or my skills lacking, but mine were a miss. My next go is Abteilung 502 oils. Very low solvents content, and heavy, fine pigmentation. Happy to receive any criticism and suggestions.
Good kit but fiddly. I used Tamiya dark green on mine👍
this pirate ship is ideal for a beginner and I build level 5 kits Say for instance level 5 battle ship Bismark and if a was a beginner I wouldn't attempt build level 5 Battle ship Bismark or even any full scale construction kit for that matter .
It looks really good finished. I must admit that I thought "wtf is he doing??!!" While you were painting the circles, but really does look good with the weathering. Im going to start building mine tomorrow. 👍
Great little video. I've just completed this model myself. Re: The early parts. If in doubt build in the part number order
I love your channel and simple steps on how to paint easily with brush models. Plenty of pompous channels about modeling, but you keep it simple. *Good job* 👍
Full colour - so long as everything ya black or not black.
Don’t bother. It’s a shit kit and overpriced. Indeed. Don’t bother with airfix.
I just finished this model. I forgot the weight but made some nice weathering with some mashed up pastels for some details. It’s looking really solid for one of my first kits. No finger marks, good setup, and nice paint to finish it off.
I think the vehicle is 1/75,the figures 1/72.Why did Airfix make its tanks in a different scale to its "little soldiers"?The figures look like they are about 7 foot tall..Also like Tamiya make 1/32 planes but the vehicles are 1/35..Ive often wondered why models are produced in what seem to be random scales.
It was because back in the day the main scale was 00 which is 1/76ish then the figures went to go with the planes in 1/72 your right though its a mess, the main scales where 1/72 and then 1/32 but tamiya made 1:35 which was a bit smaller and cheaper. It is all abit of a mess though and makes making scenes a bit weird

Thays a fantastic collection of models youve got there. My particular favorite is the Harrier. I paised the video and zoomed in for a closer look. Love it. 👍
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed the content, ah the harrier is one of the models that got me back into the build, I need to build some more cold war Uk planes as I love the grey and green camo schemes
@@scalestuff1066 I've just re-read my comment and I'm amazed you could understand it!!! The autocorrect on UA-cam is utter garbage. 🤣
@@the.just.able.biker67 Yeah it really is mate, sometimes I wonder with all the tech and money they have got, what on earth they are doing with it hahahaha
BW i agree about that colour of mud maybe be better for a desert Tank like thr Miltida.
Yeah might be abit to light for the European dirt, unless its ment to be somewhere like Italy
Excellent build😊
Thank you 😁
Turned out quite well. I may have one of these still in the stash. I need to dig through again.
Thanks mate, do it, its a nice model to make
Remember building this one in the sixties I'd be around nine years old
Would you build one again?
I think this originally came as an Esci model, hence its fairly rough nature. But these old Transit vans bring back so many memories!
Ah that would explain it, I do love the van kits tho i think its because there something that a lot of people come into contact with in real life
Useful tip-the axles line up with the wheels on the sprue, greatly easing the process.
Thats a good tip
another tired old roll out from airfix, vintage my butt, knackered more like.come on airfix bring some new kits out. NEW not antiques.
I get what your saying, some of the re do's though are nicer than the old kits. But they do need to do more small tanks. I think they have the firefly, tiger1 tiger2? (but im not sure on that one) and the cromwell in new kit versions but other than that it is a lot of old kits re done
Beautiful video and trucks!
Thank you very much!
First tank model i ever build! Great video!
Glad you enjoyed the video mate
I hated those rubber ‘glue-together’ tracks that used to come with the older kits, I could never get them to stick together properly, must admit I never thought about just sticking them just inside the track guards because the rest of the upper track couldn’t be seem, as an aside those weren’t stowage boxes fitted to the side of the hull, I believe they’re the air intakes for the engine.
Yeah tbh I hate them to the stick them and forget methods done me well tho, they wont work with poly cement though which i think was always the problem. And thanks yeah, there no obvious at this scale on the 1:35 scale ones its clearer what they are

Yeah I hate them to, the cut and hide and stick method makes them easier to just get on and get done though, I have in some videos welded the things but the plastic really doesnt like been melted even a little bit and just falls apart a lot of the time
Oh gawd yes. The nightmare that was/is the suspension.
Once its gone though its done and out the way
Advantages of the original 1973 kit : sharper moulds, less warping or flash. Advantages of the newer releases : "fresher" decals (which tend to yellow over time), sometimes even new improved decals.
Yeah with tamiya the first ones are the best, decals wise I have not seen any yellow yet, but a lot of the time I paint and weather over them so that yellows them so I might not have noticed.
Great film. Like you, i built this one as a lad - and still recall the frustration of all those wheels (probably without a decent knife and with far less patience than now).
Thanks mate, ah yeah with the wheels I think I've done a few versions of this model, and you do need a good knife and sand paper, a method helps tho, as a kid I just went at the wheels one by one completing the whole thing and it led to all sorts of issues
I'm sure I saw a review somewhere years back, where they left the wheels on the sprue when fitting them to the hull, as the spacing was perfect, and they then cut the sprue away afterwards - but I may have imagined that...
@@neilbedford5082 Be interesting if it worked like that, I cant imagine its far off, Im sure I will build one again ( I have built the crocodile for a future video already) but might try that I need one to go on the back of the scammel.
Worth trying - even if just to prove the point - but I'm sure I read this somewhere 😀
Be a nice hidden feature that's for sure!
Nice. Like so many, I built this as a young 'un, before discovering Esci kits were so much better. I recently built the Dragon Churchill, nice kit but the tracks don't bend, or if they do they straighten out and snap. So, Airfix got that right in the 1960s and Dragon couldn't.
Yeah that they are, yeah I like dragon kits but they always seem to have one little bit that could have been done much better
Enjoy your videos. Relaxing 😌
Cheers mate glad you enjoy the content
Still a good kit, you can add lots of detail. Nice work.

Yeah sorry
Ouch. 😬
@@jonbell3020 Shes not wrong hahahahaah
Nice model! Did you know the Churchill has had 2 inches more armor than the Tiger 1. Could you do the airfix vintage kit WASA next?
Cheers mate, and yeah but I dont think it was the same type I think it was cast not rolled. I do want to do one of the big old vintage ship kits but might be a while before one shows up on the channel
German armour was mostly face-hardened, using electrical current. It was strong but could shatter if hit properly- you see pics of Panthers and King Tigers with massive cracks after being hit.
This was a big problem after 1944
Ohhhhh now that makes sense knew they did it different thanks for clearing that up, and yeah seen that did wonder what happened figured we bombed every step in the chain by then. Have you seen the pics of the Jagdtigers that have just popped along all the seams as well?
@ Some of that is demolition charges, left by the crew. Others are definitely hits by guns: most tanks were knocked out by AT guns and artillery.
Not bad as kits, most modelers didn't mind "minimalism" in this scale, my only complaint is, tracks' seams apart, the lack of hatches open or close, now there are a lot of 1/72 crewmen's figures in the market, that could add more life to the models.
Yeah tbh I do think your complaints are valid, and I agree having a few figures does bring the kits to life some what
What wheels and tires are these? I haven't seen these in Carisma? If possible, please provide the model and manufacturer of wheels and tires, Thank you
Not sure mate, its a bit of a million dollar question, My mate gave them to me, he got them off ebay and they where cheap from china. I think it was from a search along the lines of camel trophy wheels for crawler. they are steel. But we haven't managed to find them again
How much time it takes for revell glue to rest out?
Depends on the part really, if its going to have weight or pull on it I'd leave it over night, normal bits its fairly ok 15min to 30mins on
@@scalestuff1066 Thank you! I bought the same one and I try to plan assembling parts
@@Insertnicknamehere-x1e No worries mate, any questions just drop me a comment. Best of luck on your build
@@scalestuff1066 thanks I am halfway done
Does anyone know what happened to this company? They haven’t shut down the molding company but they don’t sell anymore, what happened?
I'm not sure, seems to me that they make a load of them then stop then make a load again, Its probably a small company and just does big runs from time to time to offset costs. I was after a few of the other models and they seem to be out of stock everywhere. Sorry not a great answer but thats how I recon there working

A neat little kit, the decals look a tad oversize, cheers.
Yes definitely a bit over sized, if i remember rightly the tanks longer and taller than it should be as well
Spectacular model mate, love the paint and weathering. I'm hoping to build a Panther myself, may easily go for a Panther G Late kit by Tamiya since I had a great time with their Tiger 2 kit. it would be cool to see you have a go with the Tamiya's Panther G Late kit mate.
Cheers mate, tbh I have been looking at them for a while, ill see if I can get one at the right price, might be a couple of years till it showed up on the cannel though as I'm well backed up at the moment but might bring some of the 1:35 models forward as there's a lot of these 1:76 kits in line atm.

It‘s not a Sd.Kfz. 234. With a little artistic licence, this Sd.Kfz.233/Frankenstein might be considered a one-off frontline repair shop modification of a Sd.Kfz.233 Kanonen-Wagen, replacing the short 7.5 cm L/24 StuK 37 with a long 7.5 cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun. ua-cam.com/video/p7ze6r0hKOk/v-deo.html
