Only mentioned having to spend a night in the DUKW tied up to a ship overnight, possibly when D day was postponed and how the tyres could be inflated whilst in motion. I don't know what lorries he drove afterwards but he nearly lost his life whilst resupplying a fuel dump which was attacked by a plane, everything behind his vehicle disappeared in the explosion.

Stir it, and add a little water to the brush and paint, I put a couple of drops next to the paint and kinda mix in as I paint

@@Scot_thunderforWT Glad to be of help, if you are after building up paint over a base to get a gradual effect, water the paint down more to the constancy of milk, it takes a while to build up coats but can give you a nice natural fade

@@scalestuff1066 I think that's largely how it goes for a lot of us lol. The kit makers must know this, it's all a scam to get us to buy the next kit to try and do better ;)

Deffo hahahaah, tbh I don't know if you do this, but you find yourself revisiting the same kit years later, and then again years later, almost a bench mark model, to check how your progressing? I think my versions of this would be a Tamiya tiger, and airfix spitfire and 109

I find about 6 years seems to be the one, you look at something you thinks awesome now, and go, I bet I could do that better, then the cycle continues

Yeah I hear you on that, I only use Tamiya and Humbrol now , the cheap stuff has caused me no end of trouble with reacting and crinkling, and cracking, pitting, and all sorts, its worth just getting decent paint at the start and getting it done right once

@@scalestuff1066 yep. And if you use Tamiya paint definitely use Tamiya primer too. I've learned that the hard way using Rust-Oleum primer to save a little money. Guaranteed to crinkle

Yeah think it is the calling friends brothers, and having same surname? Do they have the same surname? And yeah fully agree flags and symbols mean different things to different people, in the uk the Confederate flags on 3 things. @@scalestuff1066 Bo and Luke have the same surname, yes. That's because their dads were brothers. Also it's nice to see a Brit that understands the Virginia Battle Flag is nothing more than a military emblem. Loved the video btw, definitely gonna use it as a guide when I pick up this kit. It's on sale at my local hobby shop but I have to wait until all my bills for the month are taken care of before I jump on it.

@@scalestuff1066 Appreciate the advice, my friend. I'm gonna try to find an orange that's slightly darker than the one you went with, but that's honestly the only criticism I have of your work and it's so minuscule it doesn't even matter. Just out of curiosity, where did you find the decals?

I think the proper orange was TNT orange, like the removal trucks? was watching a guy who made them for the show and they got a load of it cheap, but yeah could be slightly light, theres some odd "scale" effect to models, I can never remember which way round it is, think its the smaller the scale the slightly darker the color. The decals I had to ship in from the states I posted a link to the ebay sore on a comment on this video, there where two sets I ended up getting and the cheap ones where clear and I never ended up using them

Did you know that the ford transit, was THE most used getaway car in the Uk for many years? As empty it was really light with a big engine, the only thing that could catch one, was another ford transit, so we got loads of ford transit police paddy wagons

I might be able to do a Wednesday, weekends are a bit busy until the seasons over with. Nice Ill have a look at it, was looking at the old type Hilux raised wheel beds but people on ebay wanting silly money for them

That's a good opening line up to get back into the hobby, the LRDG is on the list for me as I have done the other two. Cheers mate, thats why I make the videos to just have a go as a normal modeller and not some award winning painter or pro, just paint as I paint and see how the model goes together

Yeah best of both worlds if the wheels can go on accurately, you get the solid track and detail plus speed, the link in link tracks can be a bit much I have literally spent longer making tracks than I have the entire tank on some models

Enjoy the build mate, any plans on a scheme for it? I was going to do mine like in the Ukraine at the moment but looked at certain marks and youtubes been funny about the Z been shown so I thought best not bother

@@scalestuff1066My version will be Vietnamese T-90 as T-90S/SK is the best MBT in our (Vietnam) tank line-up. I have a T-80BV Alyosha and T-72B3 with Z letter in 1/72 already. They look brutal and beautiful with that letter.

Nice Im just looking at the camo pattern and the colours look really good on the Vietnam tanks, TBH wish I had seen that colour pattern before I painted this model up now!

@@patrolduty8715 Mate sure you could get he camo on, secret is darker over light, and keep the coats thin but not runny, work fast and dont revist an area till its dry... failing that, get a nice plane truck and practice, its what old bargin bin kits are made for!

Yeah its not the greatest of kits but I think its not as bad as some I have seen, tho some models I just wont build

Think it depends where you are from, my mates from the states and he said that to, but yeah guess with some boats its type can change

@@scalestuff1066 Not sure yet, was going to go with one in the instructions (There's a shaded design) but yours looks better, and does appear to be more authentic, I might try to follow what you've done just to learn that technique. My big goal on this build is the panel line and trying to keep the paint super thin to retain the detail.

@@Kinglink I think this is the temperate or euro scheme for them, I think there are models with this as there suggested, If you ever want a guide for a different scheme, go on scale mates and look at the instructions for other kits its where I sometimes go to try something different, its free you dont need to sign up as well

@@scalestuff1066 Btw, just wanted to thank you for the weight you used in your nose section. I definitely would have been light but I appreciate the weight you used so I could try to get it right. It feels wrong, so knowing it should be very heavy is very much appreciated.

@@Kinglink Glad to have been of help, and I know what you mean it feels freakishly heavy, its all the wings and jets at the back of the plane that need to be balanced out, in all fairness building the kit make me appreciate what a freak this aircraft really is, it really is just built around that gun in the nose. Also if you want a laugh google the gun for this plane out of the plane, the things huge

Deffo, Ive got a couple of bits box's now, trouble is you dont need them for ages then one kit will drain them down to nothing and then you need to re build them

Oh now the marder is something on my to get list, what does it go together like? Glad you have got round to it in the end tho mate, its a nice kit, if you have built old tamiya before shouldnt throw anything new at you, getting the pink right is tricky, But the paint was mixed by hand so there is a bit of a lee way on the tone of them

Deffo we are the unwashed mass's, so much press on airbrushes on youtube you would think no one uses a brush now

@@scalestuff1066 It can be frustrating when you click on a video hoping for a brush painted technique and no one's got one, especially for German soft-edge camo.

Yeah I get that, I use spray paints for bases alot now, but the thing with airbrush guides is step one spend a few hundred quid.In real life I dont know any airbrush painters where all brush painters

I'd go for an airbrush if I had the space for it. Definitely tied to my living space sort of thing.

@@miken8875 with me its money and time, i like the ease of cleaning brushes, when I had a basic airbrush I didnt like all the down time cleaning the thing between coats
