‘Quédate Conmigo’ is probably the best Spanish entry since Anabel Conde in 1995, followed very close by Ruth Lorenzo’s ‘Dancing in the Rain’. Great voices, flawless performances and amazing singers 💚

In the 90s, we got so awful results while sending very popular artists, that any reputed singer would want to participate; so our selection process ended up being "send whoever".
But the "Do it for your lover" guy... Yeah, he lost the public vote during selection and then the jury gave him the win; but I don't know a single person who liked that song.

- Spain still had a few good results in the 90's: 2nd in 1994, 4th in 1991, 5th in 1990, 6th in 1997 and had four consecutive top 10 between 2001 and 2004. (Portugal should be that lucky!) Things only began to derail for Spain from 2005 onwards.
- It is said that in 2017, Spanish eurofans pretended that Spain didn't take part that year and supported Portugal instead.

but my point still stands: people in the 2000s were begging for artists like Amaral or lodvg, and instead we got son de sol or las kétchup.
