Yass! The original must see TV on ABC and they could never fill that 8:00 spot for some reason! My lil 8yr old self learned all about “coming up for a nightcap” lol
That’s what I taught that made the show so awesome I was a kid back then when the show came out so i didn’t recognize all the guest stars on the show as I do now 😀😀😀
Best LB episode. He is Jack Tripper to me no matter what show he's on or what character he's playing. Except for HERO AT LARGE. But John Ritter was the funniest man alive in his era with regards to acting in physical comedy and facial expressions.
He did it twice as I can remember in Three's Company. Once he pretended to be Chrissy when he thought the Feds were after him, and the other time when he dressed as a grandma to enter a baking contest.
I grew up watching threes company... And life goes by ... And today I find this, never knowing he was on this show. Thank you for uploading.. Thank you. Rip John Ritter.
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE episode of the love boat. It had this story plus Aunt Esther and George Jefferson in it. I adored John Ritter😍. His humor was stellar. May he RIP 🙏🏾❤️
Thankyou. I remember watching this as a kid, preteen and teenager. I loved Tuesday. Happy days Laverne and Shirley threes company, taxi not a fan then heart to heart. Love boat and fantasy island on saturdays I think.
girl on staircase with jack, was in few 3s company episodes, girl at bar, wore same dress as Chrissy,, the bald guy was sarge on episode of all in the family
Joanne (Jennifer Shaw) from the first clip was the love interest of Jack Tripper in the Three's Company episodes "Ground Rules" (which was also from 1977 as this particular Love Boat episode was) and Maid to Order (1982). So Shaw and John Ritter have been together in at least three episodes on two different TV series.
Ironically, there's an episode of Three's Company where Ritter gets a tattoo with the words 'The Love Butt' on his posterior - perhaps it was a nod to him doing this episode!!
I was thinking the same thing but I don't think the actors of different shows today would do the same appearances like they did back then. Back then it was about the love of acting more than the love of money.
I had watched Love Boat from start to finish, as a teen and in my twenties, but never saw this episode with John Ritter before. I must have been gone that nite. It is hilarious that the crew are so attracted to him, when he is a woman. This show is special, and the theme song is terrific.
At 20:00 mark: Captain S. says, "I try to meet all the passengers on the ship but I don't recall meeting you." Uh, well, Dale (John Ritter) is the guy who fell over board. How could he not know who he was. A minor glitch in the story line. Still enjoyed the clip. Ritter was great.
I loved when ABC would air the Love Boat followed by Fantasy Island on Saturday night.
Yass! The original must see TV on ABC and they could never fill that 8:00 spot for some reason!
My lil 8yr old self learned all about “coming up for a nightcap” lol
Yes I remember those days! Those shows bring back wonderful memories!
Of all the Love Boat vignette storylines, this one with John Ritter was my utmost favorite. Classic humor.
Agree
Yes, I love this one and the one with Desi Arnaz Jr.
Every season had two-five really memorable episodes. This was that season's. Ritter hands down was a comedy genius.
Saw this episode with my mom when it was new. John Ritter was spectacular. So funny. R.I.P. John Ritter you are greatly missed. 🙏
This is absolutely my favorite episode of The Love Boat! " Tomorrow is one of my favorite days ". Classic line. John Ritter...Simply the BEST ❤
The Love Boat had a lot of great episodes. Just the concept of so many stars from different shows working together on a different show was amazing.
Agreed!
RIP: John Ritter
Loved John Ritter as a kid. The guy was just so naturally talented and funny. Miss ya big guy! Rest well....
I don't know how the cast and other guest star could keep a straight face seeing John Ritter in drag.
Trust me I agree.
He did it twice as I can remember in Three's Company. Once he pretended to be Chrissy when he thought the Feds were after him, and the other time when he dressed as a grandma to enter a baking contest.
🤣
I grew up watching threes company... And life goes by ... And today I find this, never knowing he was on this show. Thank you for uploading.. Thank you. Rip John Ritter.
Love and miss John Ritter
LOL.....Jack in Drag, the look on Mr. Roper's face!!! XD
There is not much talent like this anymore.
You are soo right.
This was so good to see! I remember this episode well - John Ritter was his amazing, hilarious self! Thanks for the edit of just this storyline!
I totally agree it was classic.
"I happen to be a man."
"Wanna trade?"
😅
No laugh track required
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE episode of the love boat. It had this story plus Aunt Esther and George Jefferson in it. I adored John Ritter😍. His humor was stellar. May he RIP 🙏🏾❤️
NOOÒOBODY DOES IT LIKE JOHN RITTER!
Rip John Ritter Don Knotts
Thank you for uploading this video. This brought back so many great memories
I know. He was special.
@@apocestory4107 Yes. Incredibly so. Very few actors can make us feel such joy like John Ritter.
I love John Ritter I like watching his young son act as well
That was 100 percent entertainment
Thankyou. I remember watching this as a kid, preteen and teenager. I loved Tuesday. Happy days Laverne and Shirley threes company, taxi not a fan then heart to heart. Love boat and fantasy island on saturdays I think.
3s Company a classic
Yup it is.
John Ritter was a national treasure
The funniest Love Boat episode ever!!! John Ritter was HILARIOUS. He was a comedic genius. And, missed very much. RIP John Ritter. 💘💔💋💖💥😪
Love The Love Boat!
Love Johns Voice ❤️❤️❤️
Was typical Jack Tripper persona, but I loves it. Miss John Ritter
flashback to the three's company episode jack on a lam
😄
Grandma Tripper 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you very much for uploading this video of "The Love Boat" while we are still confined to staying at home during this quarentine as much as possible.

Back when grocery stores cashed our checks 😉
Wow
I sort of remember some of these shows but more often than not I was on the floor playing with my Lego 😁
girl on staircase with jack, was in few 3s company episodes, girl at bar, wore same dress as Chrissy,, the bald guy was sarge on episode of all in the family
Jack had taken her to the beach.
2:55, Roper and Furley were right.
I remember watching this episode with my mom back in the 80’s and this was a favorite. Ritter was so good in this episode.
He is a legend
The ship was moving fast then completely stopped when they jumped 😂
This was the funniest episode. I never liked this show until I watched John Ritter
Very good, but when John Ritter did this on Three's Company it was hilarious.
Grandma Tripper 🤣🤣🤣 one of my Favorite 3s moments.. R.I.P. John...
I think It would be a hit !!!
Ironically, there's an episode of Three's Company where Ritter gets a tattoo with the words 'The Love Butt' on his posterior - perhaps it was a nod to him doing this episode!!
John Ritter in drag. LOL
This was Classic John....Miss him..
You know what would be cool the relaunch of the love boat but the kids of the cast run the Princess!!!
I was thinking the same thing but I don't think the actors of different shows today would do the same appearances like they did back then. Back then it was about the love of acting more than the love of money.
🤣
I already wanted to watch the love boat but now I want to watch it even more.
I had watched Love Boat from start to finish, as a teen and in my twenties, but never saw this episode with John Ritter before. I must have been gone that nite. It is hilarious that the crew are so attracted to him, when he is a woman. This show is special, and the theme song is terrific.
All the guys in Los Feliz dress like Jack Ritter in this episode (in the male outfit) in Los Angeles
Classic! ☺️
It would be interesting Love Boat trivia to know which 70s stars’ characters actually jumped off the Love Boat. John Ritter. Anyone else?
I think he was the only one
"Ooooooh Dale!"
I love the crossover between The Love boat and Charlie's Angels
jacks pretty fu@#n funny here, not many others could pull it off as well
Your so right. John Ritter was one of a kind but the Jack tripper character doesn't get enough credit on it's own.
Nobody reported their luggage was stolen ??
What if Roper or Furley had been on the Love Boat to see Jack Tripper in drag?
😂😂 That would've been hilarious! I can imagine.
She was his girlfriend on threes company on the episode Ground Rules
He’s not an attractive woman. That silver dress is over the top for the dining room. 😆
Cat M John Ritter was sure as hell a hot man though! 😍
That’s talent when you can make a corny show like this so funny. Higher caliber of acting shows Rest In Peace John Ritter...
That's the same actress who said "with your own sister?" in 3's company.
Wasn’t the lady also on an episode of Three’s Company where she played Jack’s date?
At 20:00 mark: Captain S. says, "I try to meet all the passengers on the ship but I don't recall meeting you." Uh, well, Dale (John Ritter) is the guy who fell over board. How could he not know who he was. A minor glitch in the story line. Still enjoyed the clip. Ritter was great.
Yes but they never show them actually meeting.
They didn't have a Mrs Doubtfire ending. 🤗
They should have had Janet as a guest star with them, so we could have had them once end up together.
Doc is about to hit that
😂
17:46
Won't the woman who he stole her luggage recognize her dress?
15:20
John Ritter handsome as a man beautiful as a lady and pretended to be gay wonderfully well in Threes Company.
Mix Jerry Lewis, John Ritter, and the vulgarity of the 1990s, and what do you get? Jim Carrey!
Oasr awards 40th anniversary celebration years Hollywood home house History Tcm t.v.
Gopher is not very observant.
Neither is the person who should be the most observant...the Captain.
Stalker much
John Ritter is amazing, but the Love Boat was a hideous show, seriously.
Why? “Hideous?”
It was a fun show. You don’t have clue what the word “hideous” means.
John Ritter did dress up as a woman a lot didn't he?
Hmmm
? He was a physical comedy actor, and straight as,an arrow. As was Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari in Bosom Buddies.
