Seeing a speedmaster for the first time is what got me into watches. Now that I've discovered this, I think I'll get the zenith first when the time comes

I ordered the 38 mm first, but I exchanged it for the 42 mm version and I really love it
A true masterpiece the El primero movment. I would choose a Zenith over any other maker. The watch makers watch maker.
I love this watch very much. The movement looks fantastic from first glance but I really wish they decorated some of the smaller pieces
Rolex charged twice as much for the Daytona compared to a Zenith with the same mov. Zenith look far better too.

Good review! I own the 42mm version of this watch and can't stop starring at it. My other timepieces will be taking a break since this one will not be coming off of my wrist for a while. It's gorgeous with a legendary mvt.

Zenith is the most underrated brand..Much better than Rolex..slightly better than IWC..Often equal to JLC (and sometimes surpasses it for value for money).
iwc is not in the same rank with rolex and zenith, iwc is a entry level luxury brand.

Great review. Great watch. On the newer version the minute and seconds dial overlap the hour dial so there isn't an obstruction.

Beautiful, classy sports watch. Could ware this at most occasions with pride.
Something very interesting to note: my 2015 Canadian version doesn't have a blue column wheel, and the lug tops are polished, not brushed. I have seen some examples with all mirror finished lugs but never with a normal steel colored column wheel.
If I have to pick between Daytona, Speedmaster, or El Primero, well this video is about El Primero , right? so you know my answer lol

I was quoted by Zenith in Australia at “it will never be less than $1,000 and never more than $1,500”. Make of that what you will. I’m trading my Breitling for one of these.
My Zenith Pilot Big Date is by far the best time-keeper in my collection. My Rolex GMT-II with z serial number doesn’t even come close in terms of accuracy.

Then”Automatic” across the hour sub dial looks so out of place, Il be getting the cleaner dial version when I get one
I hate how Zenith overlaps the sub-dials so much. Makes taking readings more difficult.

Apparently not. I was just talking to a man that has had his running for 20 years straight and kept on a winder. he serviced it once and never had a problem.
+glennsmooth yea I read up on it but I chose to go with grand seiko high beat over zenith. We shall see.. So far so good keeps the most accurate time ever
Nice! Can't go wrong with Seiko hi-beat. I just got a Zenith Pilot 48mm Annual Calendar. Also very accurate. I'm liking where Zenith is going with their designs. Will probably get their "Classic Cars" watch too.

I love the El Primero and own an old one myself, but I have to say that the history of Zenith is just a string of fuck-ups. This on is another travesty. What's the point of having intersecting totalisers on a chronograph dial?
