I'd love to go down to those bays down there. I know exactly where you are in this video. Thing is I have this inflatable boat which is a tad big and heavy to launch down there, ie- there's a reason you guys use kayaks in those bays down there. So I mostly launch my boat and thusfar have dived Akaroa harbour several times. But in future hoping to do Motunau next summer. And if the wife were to let me get a kayak (which she probably wouldn't) then I could try out down there where you guys dive. Also saving up for a better boat, would like a more fit for purpose boat like a Mac 360 with a bigger outboard so I could launch wainui and get all the way down there. My inflatable barely has enough space for 2 divers and gear and often struggles to get on plane which is why so far I've dived in the harbour. Shame our dive season is so short, you head out in winter and the water is just mud all the time.
Teoka is best bet you can park close to the bay and with two lift the boat over the fence have done it a few times and don't need to go out far. Also all those bays are divable from the shore. No point going to south bays from akaroa if it's flat enough to do that you want to be checking out all the awesome spots heading right out of the harbor.
@@KiwiKaimoana yea it's a wee way don't recommend tumble down not very productive unless your out at the heads. lh side waste of time. Yea we use wheels dragging a kayak with a big payload was only done once! Lol
So cool! 🤩😎
Been thinking about giving this a crack. Looks fun.
Was this winter? I’m surprised you didn’t meet the local sevengiller population spearing in there, Lot’s of them and they aren’t small 😆

@@timwashere when you go to tumbledown bay, how far is that grass walkway? Do you put the kayak in wheels and pull it down to the water?
