I'm originally from Leadore. I remember going camping with my family there once when I was 4 or 5 back in the 1970s. We moved to Alaska a few years later and I haven't been back to the area in a long time Thanks for giving me another look at it!

Idaho is definitely a gem and there are so many unique places to see. Everson Lake has a special place in our heart. Thank you for watching and we a so happy that you enjoyed our video. 😀
Thanks for sharing. We are always looking for beautiful, somewhat remote backpacking destinations that won't beat up o our 60+ year old bodies. What time of the year was this hike taken? Any idea how busy this spot gets? Does the lake get stocked with fish? Looks like 5.5 - 6 hours from Boise so usually looking for backpacking destinations closer to home than this but will keep it in mind.
Hi Ed, this hike occurred on August 1st. It is somewhat rare for backpackers to camp at this lake, but the trail does get quite a bit of ATV and motorcycle traffic during mid day. The lake is stocked with golden trout and is a good fishing spot. Stroud and mill lake are also in the same area for other options to hike to as well. Happy trails!
I hunt in that area but have not yet been up to everson lake but I was wandering in big 8 mile if you take the road by the campgrounds you get to a gate that is closed after august. I was wandering how far of a hike the lake is from that gate if you happen to know that would be awesome
Hi Braxton, starting from the junction at the road that goes to Big 8-mile campground to Everson lake is 5 miles. From the Everson trail head it is about 3.3 miles to the lake.

Wow, that’s an amazing story. My husband first started camping in Leadore in the early 80’s. We will definitely be back to that area next year.

Huh, I live down in Iona, and haven't been to Everyone yet. Maybe in the late Spring. Is there any fish in the lake?
Hi Gerry, thanks for subscribing! Yes Everson is stocked with golden trout. Great spot for fishing.
