Here’s my take… Lee McQueen was a god of fashion because he was innovative and provocative… people might have disliked a show or collection but it was always out of the box and he often set trends. He created new silhouettes for crying out loud! This is not normal, but also not desirable or memorable, which is unfortunate.
Sarah Burton's McQueen was waaaay better than this. Another brand ruined.

I agree!!! Okay maybe he took some inspiration from Lee’s past works, but I wish he reinvented the silhouette and made it his own what a waste of atelier, he has the best tailors in England! I am truly sorry for saying this but, this collection just ruined the McQueen DNA. At least Burton wasn’t afraid to try something new but you can see and we had witnessed from her works, Lee’s aesthetic as a designer and artist. Btw I studied McQueen works in fashion school. He’s the reason why I became a designer.

Alexander was a greatest tailor and artist… He had a strong idea in his garment. I don’t see a strong idea in this collection.

Rest in peace Lee Alexander McQueen and his fashion house. Sarah Burton left a beautiful faithful collection and a glimmer of hope. The spirit of Lee McQueen was within her and she made the clothes much more polished, elegant, tailored and wearable. Lee Alexander McQueen pushed the frontiers of fashion and was at his core an innovator. Sarah Burton made the clothes much more feminine and business like! This I’m afraid to say was a complete mishmash and vulgar. I’m so sorry but the house of Lee Alexander McQueen has been dealt a final nail in the coffin.

I have always been looking forward to a mcqueen runway in extraordinary venues, discovering beautiful, glamorous, elegantly edgy pieces so WHAT IS THIS NOW? Tons of brands changed the designers and go off their dnas, copying and pasting bits and bops of other collections and creating garments and accessories which don't make any sense and impossible to wear (rick owens make more sense than this) and did Pat boguslawski got hired for this walk? Seriously.... very disappointing

this show inspired some of the funniest comments ever.
visually i've split this into 4 segments. segments 1 & 3 were interesting. 2 was tragic. indifferent on 4. i'm wildly conflicted on this. also, the shoes were terrible.
I find it shoes the best part uniqe good referencer, good balance, if just he come up with clothing that fit style of shoes, I mean horse looking shoes not those others 12:42

Might have passed for Rick Owens but you're suppose to be designing for Alexander McQueen. This is what happens when you surround yourself with people who won't tell you that you're not as good as you think you are.
a gente vê bem uma ruptura com o que a sarah burton fazia (o belo, o romântico), aqui é tudo mais cru, bruto, me lembrou muito o início do mcqueen.
Sim, acho que ele se reverenciou mais no aspecto dark do mcqueen, o que honestamente sentia saudade na marca.
Preciso rever essa coleção outras vezes pra sentir essa mesma vibe, pq na verdade tudo me remeteu mais ao trabalho de Galliano na Margiela, ou um Rick Owens, coisas nessa direção, o que acaba tornando tudo uma bricolagem do trabalho de outros diretores criativos de vanguarda

this look like such a childish collection, every thing was wrong from the scenography to the creative director, burton made McQueen such a luxury label, it was so desirable, full of insane craftmanship, it was an evolution from lee McQueen, this is the complete opposite, and feels like that brand I hate - enfantrichedeprime, this collection will aliniate so many customers, unfortunately this is what happen when CEO/ headhunters choose designers, they choose bad ones almost all the time

When I saw the new logo and "muses" arriving I was worried and tried to remain optimistic. And then I became so disappointed. Where has the high end luxury and the groundbreaking creativity. gone. This looked like everything in the creative director's design school portfolio was thrown against the wall to see what would stick. There were slight...SLIGHT...glimmers of hope that all can be saved and corrected. Sarahhhhh where are you!!! COME BACK PLEASE. YOUR BREAK IS OVER!!! I am so sorry Lee. Perhaps Sean would be best served having his own label and someone more in line with the McQueen aesthetic be brought on as a replacement If Sarah does not want to return.
yeah, this was so bad. I feel like he (the new creative director, what's his name?) even wanted it to be over. it looks rushed and confusing. lots and lots of refinement needed.

I used to work there and trust me that lack of soul comes from the coorporate decisions from the sales team and not from designers who get pushed to make "what sells".Althou I thought from the start that hiring head of JW Anderson( who yes I also worked for) and has a totally different vibe is at least odd decision remember that when Lee McQueen became the Head of Givenchy his first collection was criticised beyond belief.
Nods to Balenciaga in the black boots, Margiela in cinched menswear with a sprinkle of Rick Owens in some of the nicer ladies coats. The rest was an odd assortment. 🫤

Confusion seems to reign supreme at the house of McQueen and amongst anyone who had the chance to witness this collection. At this point is hard to tell whether they are experiencing a transitional moment after the departure of Sarah Burton or whether Seán McGirr has failed to realize his vision for the house, embodying the ethos and philosophy often associated with iconic fashion houses such as McQueen, in any case if this collection is anything to go by or a reflection of what McQueen might look like under McGirr direction, it seems the house is headed for turbulent and uncertain times, I guess only time will tell, hopefully McGirr buckled under pressured and he will use this faux paux as a cautionary tale on how not to do a collection.

Loved: all-frill tops bursting out of suits. It’s like those Elizabethan ruffs started to live and reproduce uncontrollably like tribbles.
Hated: unwieldy, flopping footwear.
Overall: 🤷🏻♀️ it was a hard assignment, and this collection definitely doesn’t convey the drama I’ve associated with McQueen. But I believe in second chances, so fingers crossed for the next one.
Unusual. But my like is yours. The author was thinking about the animals of the world. Long shoe toes, obvious predators. You can see wolf, mouse, fox and cats. The round toes of the shoes symbolize horses and cows. And the latter are reptiles. Of course, it looks very original.

im pleasantly surprised, its completely different than sarah's mcqueen, and thats not bad right? lift ur spirits up, this might have potential to be amazing in 1-2 years. I do see a bit of JW anderson and i miss this strong femininity that came with sarahs and lees work, but hope it will come next time. very gen z lol

I know some people are upset that this isn't really a McQueen collection but I actually quite liked it. Some interesting sleeve silhouettes, fur-seamed jeans, trousers tied around the ankles and calves, a shattered windscreen for a dress and those jackets with the big, flirty peplums. Spoiled by whoever choreographed the show: weird walks and angry faces might be seen as edgy but are really off-putting and don't do anything for the clothes.
Slasher chic? High fashion nightmare movie? What are we calling this?

It's not like it's a bad show. Sarah Burton was a romantic and a perfectionist, her tailoring was top-notch, but if she couldn't sell, maybe consumers didn't deserve anything better. This isn't bad either. If anyone is thinking of throwing money at pimp-looking men's clothing, then it's ok.

I had built myself up during my work day for the show. Glass of wine pored I sat and waited, and waited a little more, then yay, here we go… then oh dear, then, I told myself, give it some time. But no. I honestly hated the vision, nothing to see here. How sad 😔
Watered down, "best-of" McQueen for H&M. Looked cheap and the models were just as bad.
The only essence similar to the brand is deconstructing the garments in new silhouettes. It will slowly be acceptable, maybe yes and maybe no.

Very hit and miss and all over the fucking place, not a single cohesive idea behind this collection. I was really hyped but this was so boring! it's an Alexander McQueen show for fucks sake! his collections were many different things but BORING was NEVER one of them!
Kering should just shut the brand down, if they are going to treat it like a whore! Allowing any old parvenu to take the rein. Sarah Burton did an amazing job at protecting the brand's integrity while adding a spin to the label, without losing the brand DNA. This young man is obviously talented and I am sure he has a lot to say, I believe it is unfair to give this young man, such big shoes to fill; Alexander McQueen and Sarah Burton. Kering set him up to fail in my opinion.
