Is this a Haute Couture show? I couldn't see any stunning tailoring or cutting-edge designs that would captivate the audience and draw them into the show! If it’s a Ready-to-Wear show, then it would be a typical one given Maria's usual style and capabilities! 😢
This collection doesn’t look haute couture at all. Gosh, I miss John Galliano at Dior.
For all those who keep bringing up John Galliano:
The Chinese supermodel Lina Zhang was interviewed on the popular UA-cam channel AHA LOLO.
At the Maison Margiela Artisanal 2024 show, the 5-foot-10 model was made to wear a tight corset. Her waist was cinched to 52 cm/20.5 inches. “I couldn’t breathe and naturally got angry. How am I going to do my job if I can’t breathe?” She worried she would disrupt the lineup if she had fainted (she intimated that the model ahead of her had indeed fainted).
The supermodel continued: “I hadn’t thought about it until the next season, when I walked for Victoria Beckham [Fall 2024 ready-to-wear]. They also gave me a corset to wear but the stylist told me it was for shaping the silhouette [not to restrict the body]. I asked what my waistline was and was told 62 cm/24.5 inches. I wondered if I’d gained weight and told the stylist how it was cinched to 52 cm at the Margiela show.” Zhang then mimicked the stylist’s reaction - a blank, incredulous, “I’m speechless” stare.
To many fashion devotees, Galliano can do no wrong. And when he presented a theatrical couture show that seamlessly combined design, craftsmanship, styling, and storytelling, we rushed to sing his praises. “This is what a couture show should be!”
What do we hail as creativity in fashion? Why do we put a designer like John Galliano on the pedestal of creative genius? What outrageous behaviors and practices do we tolerate, even celebrate, in the name of creativity?
It’s fashionable these days to blame the luxury behemoths for the dearth of creativity in fashion, and money the evils of the industry. But maybe we should look at the much-worshipped ideal of creativity itself - how the “fashion attitude” itself needs to be rethought, refreshed, and indeed creatively reimagined?
I think Maria Grazia Chiuri has been doing exactly that - and doing it successfully no matter what the haters say.
Does Maria Grazia have any other ideas besides the Greek nymph we’ve been seeing for years? She has to leave Dior and make her own brand.
this is considered HAUTE COUTURE now????? i want ... no i NEED Galliano back asap
Eine wunderschöne Kollektion.
Die Kleider in diesen schönen Farben und Stoffen, einfach genial.
I find this collection offensive to the public that has followed the brand for years. Where is DIOR in these kitchen towels?
I’m speaking as a huge fan of MGC: My first impression was “this feels a bit enervated,” especially in contrast to the vibrant backdrop of women in action.
MGC’s couture creations demand, and can endure, multiple and prolonged viewings. You begin to see the details and the connecting threads - the pleats and draping recalling ancient Greeks, the tank tops elevated to evening wear.
It has been the case in the last few seasons MGC is determined to redefine - or reclaim - what “couture” means. No drama for its own sake, no crazy silhouettes, no ridiculously cinched waists! A well-paced evolution of MGC codes for Dior.
Indeed the real-world test is how the stars and clients look - most of them look fantastic. And, in the world of sports, how women athletes feel beautiful and free in MGC’s creations (example: Emma Raducanu at Dior Cruise 2025).
Still, MGC’s determinedly low-key approach makes her vulnerable to haters who are themselves equally determined to slam her. Then again, MGC knows Her Dior is designed for self-assured, stylish women rather than the coterie of self-styled fashion experts.
I agree. I don't understand all the hate for Maria's work. Some people just want a simple black dress or a neat little suit to wear, beautifully made from the most exquisite fabrics and on that score Maria always delivers. Yes, there are always a few looks that don't quite work, but the collections she produces are always huge so there are bound to be a few that don't quite hit the mark. The shows may not make you gasp and fall backwards onto your chaise longue, writhing in ecstasy at the sheer outrageouseness of it all, but the bottom line is that this is a business and the people that run Dior have decided that they want clothes that will sell. If you want to wear clothes that make you look like a giant insect with knobs on, then you've come to the wrong place. I love to see designers pulling out all the stops when they are allowed to, but what a house produces should be judged on its own merits and appreciated accordingly.

So effortless blend of Grecian and 70´s style, everything to flowy and unabashedly feminine!! Love this collection, wish I could even dream of affording =)
Yes !! Quite a few times I caught my breath looking at how beautiful some dresses were. Very femine, lovely colours amazing fabrics and design..just too beautiful !!!!❤
The John Galiano years were arguably the best years for Dior. 😢
The video footage is not good, it does not show the high quality details of the craft. Dior has released other photos in which the art of these dresses shines.
Jisoo is so beautiful in this dress ❤❤❤
the only thing that changes in mgc couture shows are the walls design
Where’s the haute couture WOW factor?
Gorgeous collection. Love the fluidity and freedom exemplified through textile and design. & stage design is gorgeous too and flats! Love
Such a precise sense of what's most important in the world right now!
Deep breath, some peaceful calm , and ultimate freedom...
Such a perfect harmony!
watching the show made me feel so good, - as I was breathing the most fresh air, in a valley, upon the ocean shore ...
Gratitude for the pleasure to watch the show!
Dior is absolutely perfect! Great and Eternal ! ✨🙏🏻
Olympique ! Magnifique! Très beau ! On adore ! ❤😍
Also the first music is by Philip glass. Been used more than just balmain… so I’m glad to hear it again… it’s a shame most don’t know Philip glass.
Thanks music, the show became even more dull....
May Maria forgive me, but this is not, Haute Couture!!!
@@Newbounderies24 I’m sure the composer is an expert and has a more sophisticated ear than mine but I stand by my humble opinion. Just having one less voice would have made it less busy and distracting.
I watched a documentary on how schizophrenics have auditory hallucinations the other day. They did a simulation on how the hallucinations would’ve sounded for the sufferers and it was much similar to the effect Glass made here with the overlapping three voices which is headache-inducing 😆
Maria Grazia Chiuri goes from strength to strength, no gimmick, no exaggeration, Just pure, sophisticated elegance!
This is what she should be doing for the regular collections and not for couture
Achei fantástico ... Elegância tecidos modelos , detalhes sutis... Vestidos q flutuam q gostaríamos de usar .... Parabéns a Dior❤🎉
Acontece que essa coleção “ grita “ Resort ou Ready to Wear do que Haute Couture ! Está com cara de Zara do que Dior !
Such beautiful flowing simple elegant dresses and yet sophisticated, complex details . It really showcases female power with her athleticism. I also think the idea of liberation is very successful.I think I understood this idea, what makes this haute couture collection so rebellious. Well, some will criticize it for that, but this step is the logical conclusion of the feminist path. It's a consequence of that.
And as always, the connection between art and fashion, a real creative process that is transferred to the viewer of the show (and the wearer of the fashion) and continues. I hope some of this also inspires Dior's rady-to-wear line for summer 2025! ❤❤❤
Just know XIN LIU. Xin is an icon, my favourite Dior ambassador.
Soft and sensual. No feathers, beads or balloon skirts. This is modern Haute Couture for a modern woman. Maria has done it again…Brava
Go see Schiaparelli Haute Couture 2024 and tell me that the Haus is delivering better Dior than Dior itself !
Tworzą ubrania za dziesiątki czy setki tysięcy euro, aby pokazać moc i styl domu mody, a finalnie zarabia się na perfumach na które stać prawie każdego! Ale element identyfikacji z wielką modą jest ❤❤❤
Can you please get a better camera? The up close shots should be impeccably crisp & clear.
He wanna see it better make apartment scene up close. If you have a lot of money, they’ll bring the clothes to you.
Grécia clássica na melhor seda, china milenar atual ? E tem norte América pop, anos 70-80?. Amei
Very good condition. Thanks your very much 💓😊💖.
DIVINE collection. BRAVO
Only my sooyaa is bestttt❤
Ther Grecian-inspired gowns. The 1920's-inspired Flapper drsses. The effortless jackets and pantsuits. The way in which you had FAR, FAR less ugly pieces. This is one of the BEST collections she has done for Dior, if not the absolute best in recent times. I even liked the art on the walls. And for once, she was NOT hammering us in the head with the feminist rhetoric.
Haute couture doesn’t have to be show stopping or theatrical… since its conception it was to make the best clothes money can buy with hand work that cannot be done in RTW. Galliano is amazing but this is beautiful as well. You can see amazing hands and techniques went into the making of this. Also I worked with couture clients they want to buy clothes they can invest into to wear more than once.
Imma fashion student and this is the exact design I would sketch and call it a day when I'm out of idea😂😂😂 gosh I miss mcqween and galliano
Bravo ! Je adore ! Every single dress is absolutely beautiful ! Enchanting, mesmerizing collection !❤❤❤
The opening music is the same as the music that plays at the Balmain Fall winter 2021 fashion show.
Se Dior fosse vivo, ele diria, joga tudo isso fora, não fui eu quem fez isso.
June 29, 2024. Today im dropping this comment to let you know that im gonna be a big shot artist in the world of music and fashion. My songs will be bangers shortly. And when that happens, I'll make sure to slide back here and leave a comment, so that all you guys who believed in me can be proud. I wish you all the best and don't mistake my confidence for arrogance. Peace out 🙏🏼

I mean... Prêt-a-pòrter or Ready-to-wear! And what about the topic of sports runway truly?
Bravo 🎉🎉🎉esthetician and elegance ❤
I love healthy flat shoes! I love the beautiful fabrics, beautifully draped over the natural body lines. I hope the slender bodies reflect good nutrition and regular appropriate exercise.

Beatiful
Same music at the beginning was previously used in a Balmain runway during Covid, loved it, it was another style.
Thank you Dior❤
please close up details Dior , and HD 4K VDO
Wicked 😮 is anyone going to cut the Check PLZ ?
minji perfect
Wonderful collection
Love the collection Dior definitely changed her collections to new style ❤
MISS DIOR KIM JISOO✨️
The Dior Atelier was established by the purity of the craft of Haute Couture.
You see simplicity dares examination, the simpler the garment the more skills that are needed for execution because EVERYTHING is VISIBLE.
MGC is the Madam Vionnet and Jeanne Lanvin of our time.
NO GIMMICKS, NO CLOWNISH SPECTACLE !
It takes a woman to fully understand how a woman wants to feel in a garment, every single piece in this collection had the ability to not only deliver luxury
I would love to feel the cloth and touch the hand rolled edges of the hems, examine the inside to see how they achieved all of those different treatments that allowed every piece to hang with fluid precision from shoulder to floor.
And I won't even start on how EVERY VISIBLE SEAM WAS INVISIBLE
ANY woman with Any shape could find a timeless piece in this collection And wear those beautiful sandals ALL DAY.
That is the FOUNDATION of a house like DIOR.
JISOO ❤️ ❤️❤️
Brought to you by AI. No humans were involved in the creation of the above beige vagueness. Don't worry; we're all wondering why we just drifted off into hypercoma. Is it over yet?
Someone call the guy from Valentino.
Incredible designs and models 😊
QUEEN JISOO 🤍
Lindo lindo o desfile maravilhoso
This is Hilarious! LOVE EVERYTHING! ✨
Miss dior jisoo
Jisoo is amazing
Draping, olympic and greek inspired... ground breaking ...
Jisooooooooo❤❤❤❤❤
Wonderful, love this collection.
A coleção cruise 2025 está mais haute couture do que a própria Haute couture. A direção criativa está em declínio. Maria Gracia já fez melhor.
Beautiful ❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good fashion show😊
Is the couture in the room with us?
디올 사랑해요
At last- elegance!!
Tank top dresses? For DIOR?????

Диоровская красота❤❤❤
How and why is this considered haute couture is beyond me🤯
Words right out of my mouth ...thank you!!!
❤❤❤
The description in the video explains the motive: “Haute Couture by Maria Grazia Chiuri celebrates the body in motion, tracing a line from ancient Greece through the 20s to the present day.”
Elegance in the use of the lines with the use of the finest materials is haute couture. The reasoning for the concept elaboration and development is given in the description.
@@CatsInHats-S.CrouchingTigerstill it looks like ready to wear, no effort at all🤷♂️Take a look at Sciaparelli or Margiela
@@lukarazmilovic I do understand. It does appear that Dior is playing within the experimental classic lines. I don’t want to give away too much, but the more ornate has had its moment in the past and so it seems, clean lines are having their moment. As well, since the Summer Olympics Games are taking part in France this year, this may be the inspiration for the House of Dior.
