Just got this. As a mom I have to say one of the things missed in all the reviews I’ve watched, was the complete lack of thought regarding rear climate. Being in S.TX with kids, thats a big issue. It only has the 2 small vents near the feet. Adding top or side venting also vents in trunk to help grocery’s stay cool.. would have been thoughtful. But overall I love it.
Maybe it is the trim you got? Cause the one Joe reviewed, we can definitely see rear climate control between the two front seats. But I do agree a top or side vent would be amazing (specially for the 3rd row).
@@fudarj She was referring to only having venting low in the back and no side or upper venting. Yes the controls are there, but no choice where to vent, so in the summer, cold air stays at the feet.
I had a Mitsu Galant 1988, fully loaded. Great car. At that time, an associate who worked as a Ford / Mazda consultant, told me that....the 1988 Galant was the best overall car for features for the money in the entire Automobile industry. I wznt to like this compact SUV, BUT, they missed the boat on the engine. A Turbo would have gone a long way. Also, Mitsu is lacking Dealerships
I think $37K or whatever is was for the Outlander is amazing for an SUV. I mean I know they're trying to get back into the game, it's a shame because they're sports cars were amazing, but let's hope they'll bring out more good cars. I'm not even an SUV guy, but by the end I was kind of digging it.
Great video Joe. I actually clicked this time to hear the backstory of Mitsubishi... always love the history lesson ... ! You can take the man outta the High School, but you can’t take the teacher... outta the man. Boom💥🔥

I’m going to have to zonk the front end. I just can’t get into it. I know it’s in style these days but..... I’d rather the LED daytime running lights were the whole headlighting system without the stacked lights below. The rear end is nice. The interior is very nice too - could definitely deal with that every day!
I really hope Mitsubishi makes a comeback, they've made some great cars in the past starting with the Mitsubishi Starion AKA Chrysler Conquest, Mitsubishi Eclipse, the ultimate all-weather GT car AKA the 3000GT VR4, and of course the Lancer Evo. But getting back to this car oh, I'm so glad you're doing reviews and giving them some attention. I agree the front end overall looks good but I don't like the fake treatment by the hood and the stick on chrome Outlander. And I personally am not a big fan of those Wheels. I generally like either all black or all machine faced Wheels and I've never been a fan of directional Wheels but they're not bad either and they're a good size. You made an excellent point about that rear windshield wiper, they should have tucked that up in the top. To me the icing on the cake is that interior. Whoever designed that did an excellent job. That looks really good and I like that they kept dial Hvac controls. Screens are great but manual control heating and cooling systems are just so much easier to work with and you don't have to take your eyes off the road to feel them. Overall it looks nice both outside and especially inside. I hope Mitsubishi makes a good comeback and thanks for a great video! Also excuse any typos I'm on voice recognition.
I love Mitsubishi... I mean they are my favorite and I have been lucky I have owned and driven some of their earlier products .. This needs a non CVT 6 cylinder engine and a performance trim. I wouldnt mind paying 10 more grants to get a performance trim with the red mitsubishi emblem. Again I am glad we are done with the third Outlander generation as it was awful. The first and second ones were rather very neat. RIP Osamu Masuko... It literally took you your life for Mitsubishi to kick back at it again.
That car is a bargain for 37k, way cheaper than the Palisade and Telluride that competes with, is even cheaper than the compact Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento, wow well done Mitsubishi👏🏼👏🏼
@hon solo The CVT isn't as bad as you think. Everything is tuned and programed by Mitsubishi. Along side the slightly underpowered engine, it should be very reliable. This CVT isn't new to Mitsubishi at all, they have been using it for years without issue.
Lol well I have a Tiguan with it’s useless 3rd row but hey I have ended up using it for my cousins little kids several times and it’s been a life saver several times when I didn’t expect it and nobody else had space!
I liked and purchase the last version in 2019. Was a great dog mobile. Traded it in for a Tundra. They have great incentives for new cars. MSRP was 35K with all the discounts and rebates I was down to 28K. End of negotiations I had a free roof rack and mtn bike carrier. Tinted windows and maintenance-free service for 5 years. People say they are junk but that was a great car. That interior in that price point is way better than anything out there.
Great review. Very thorough and balanced. Overall I think its a home run for mitsubishi. Massive step up in every way from the previous version (2017-2021) which I have. The 3rd row is a bit less usable than the previous version but offsetting that the 2nd row folds a bit flatter (still not completely flat) so load capacity is a bit more usable for larger objects.

@@marketingmajor8126 The only thing truly the same between this and the Rogue is the powertrain and engine. Everything else is Mitsubishi with some inspiration. Even then, the CVT is fully tuned and programed by Mitsubishi making it significantly more reliable. It will sell well.
@@marketingmajor8126 no just no you clearly don't know what an Alliance means
Joe spittin a combo of facts in that intro! You’re killing it, keep up the amazing content!
And I have a feeling this was your teaching style, and I would have enjoyed your classes very much!
The outlander is a very underrated vehicle. I love mine. The AWD system is a beast.
AWD or 4WD? Big difference between the two.
Mitsubishi's AWD is simply amazing! drove an RVR through a snow storm with almost 2 feet of snow and had no problem. On the way I saw a CRV, RAV4 and many others stuck on the road
Except that this is Nissan's awd system lol. The new Outlander is a rebadged Nissan Rogue.
Bada Bing!!!! The all new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV is going smack the competition in the mouth!!!
Just bought mine today, nicest car I ever drove.
Your wife must be cracking up with your nonchalant reference of family jewels and softballs LOL
How does she manage not to laugh out loud or drop the expensive camera ?
@@2004cyrus she isn’t always behind the camera.
@@robbyu.672 what is your point? She is holding the camera in 99% of his videos the last couple of months since Crown Vic stepped back. Joe has said so. So I’m saying when she is recording and Joe is making jokes (which is multiple times per day because he doesn’t just film one vehicle per day), how does she keep from laughing? My comment was valid despite the fact that she is also on camera occasionally. So again, your comment is pointless. Thanks
@@2004cyrus I simply pointed out something factual lol. That perhaps the reason she didn't burst out laughing is because she wasn't behind the camera. Calm down. No one really cares.
@@robbyu.672 correct nobody cares sheesh I wasn’t talking about this specific time bro: I’m saying in general. Are you 15 or something? She is behind the camera hundreds of times. I don’t know how we don’t see her or hear her laughing during any of those times. Lord child
This guy cracks me up 😂 “key won’t poke you in the family jewels” and “won’t need to play with your balls while driving”...
Bought an SE launch edition because of your review! Thanks for the great content
Joe I feel over 500k subscribers by this weekend 🎉
As a current Mitsubishi owner I NEED this new Outlander 😍🥰🥰 thanks Raiti !
Great design, this will do really well for Mitsubishi.
No it won't either, not in the reliability department. This is a Nissan rebadge with a shitty Nissan CVT.
🤮🤮
Excellent Job Lori. Amazing camera work and sound
Mitsubishi really took a page out of the Palisade design handbook. It looks good!
Wrong, Hyundai copied 2016 Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept.
Why didn’t Mitsubishi move forward with the design?
@@trent7080 and Mitsubishi copied jeep Cherokee.
@@pocochoco8504 lol nope hahaha Mitsu is far better than Jeep's split drl and headlight design
Nissan is a share holder of Mitsubishi this vehicle got some influenced based off of Nissan Rogue
Great video Joe. I actually clicked this time to hear the backstory of Mitsubishi... always love the history lesson ... ! You can take the man outta the High School, but you can’t take the teacher... outta the man. Boom💥🔥
7:57 highlander? lol big fan of your channel. keep up awesome work.
It happens! The rain had me flustered.
Was thoroughly searching to see if someone else noticed this. Haha
Omg they improved, we had a 2015 Outlander and currently own the 2020 Phev. We thought "wow they really improved with the 2020 design compared to the 2015", but dang. I love the 2022 Outlander
It’s such a beautiful redesign but completely underpowered 😔. The 1998 Montero was one of the best looking SUV’s ever and it had a great V6 engine!
Thank you for the video. Mitsubishi did a great job. Look forward to do the test drive next week.
Friends: what’re your Easter plans?
Me: Family, Food, and some on throttle action!
Gross
I got a 2020 outlander sport which I'm loving but feel it's a bit small now so hopefully in 2023 or 24 I can upgrade to this mitsi we will see I like what's on the table. Love Joe and his reviews very entertaining and engaging guy love his accent and cracking one liners well done kudos from down under 🇦🇺.
I’m going to have to zonk the front end. I just can’t get into it. I know it’s in style these days but..... I’d rather the LED daytime running lights were the whole headlighting system without the stacked lights below. The rear end is nice. The interior is very nice too - could definitely deal with that every day!
Yeah, the front end is a.. 👎
I have to agree. That front end is too much.
Me too. I don't like it.
I am hooked on your reviews. And without Lori there would be no reviews!
Waiting for this, thank you
Bought a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC and after waiting over a month & 2 weeks I FINALLY get to bring mine home tomorrow!!!
Looks amazing and with the quality and great tech and safety features, yes yes yes
I just purchased a 22 outlander. I am in LOVE!!
Nice, that color is beautiful I'm loving that suv. Can we get a side by side view next time your driving please.
Seats and interior look phenomenal! My only zonk would be the steering wheel doesnt look the nicest, but still fine.
That car is a bargain for 37k, way cheaper than the Palisade and Telluride that competes with, is even cheaper than the compact Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento, wow well done Mitsubishi👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for letting me share this Outlander with you!

I bought mine yesterday. I love it.
I wish it had a turbo and no cvt. It looks amazing
Almost at 500k good to see you deserve it
Nice looking SUV. I don't like the CVT, though. Thanks for all your great videos!! Would you be daring enough to test out the Mirage? 😆
Cvt is more fuel efficient
I don't like cvt's either
If you don't like it for reliability, that is not an issue here. If you don't like it for the fact it is a CVT, your loss.
Looking good! I love my 2011 RVR GT. Simple design, easy to work on, tows shit, gets me on and off the farm through mud and snow.
First one to review! Congrats
Always loved my Endeavor - went 200,000 miles and never a recall.
@hon solo The CVT isn't as bad as you think. Everything is tuned and programed by Mitsubishi. Along side the slightly underpowered engine, it should be very reliable. This CVT isn't new to Mitsubishi at all, they have been using it for years without issue.
Nissan Rogue fraternal twin 😊
Obviously shouldn’t have a third row if you need to remove headrest to put it down 🤓
Most 3 row crossovers have the 3rd row headrest automatically fold in for that reason
the exactly same engine with nissan rogue
Lol well I have a Tiguan with it’s useless 3rd row but hey I have ended up using it for my cousins little kids several times and it’s been a life saver several times when I didn’t expect it and nobody else had space!
The option is nice to have. I have a 2019 and have used it more than I thought I would.
@@whitneywhitlow8801 same here !
Thank you so much for review the new Mitsubishi Outlander!!!!!!
I just love the way Joe gives every little detail about these cars tho.
Look who's back.... I think this outlander gonna be the right way for mitsubishi to hit the market again specially USA
