- A cover of Gary Numan's Warriors by Tim Eilers. Originally recorded and produced by Gary Numan and Bill Nelson in 1983. Gary was not entirely happy with the album at the time and in retrospect felt it was a move in the wrong direction. In spite of that, there are some brilliant moments. The title track has always been my favorite by far. In homage to the original video I have selected some images from "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" to accompany the music. Robots and airplanes.....sounds like Numan to me.

The drummer for Gary numan was my uncle (Cedric Sharpley) :D

I always fear the worst when someone covers Gary`s songs and sings but this was great! Video was aswell
To be honest, this was a song I wanted to love when it came out, but it was the beginning of when Gary began to lose his way. H admits them himself. But, by God, you have rescued it. I love that you put the airplane footage into the video on this one. Gary would approve.
My favourite song on Warriors along with 'Love is like Clock law' and 'My Centurion'. Great cover.
Just brilliant, Tim. Wow! Anyone who remembers the original Warriors vid will especially love this montage. And the cover itself is one of your best.

Like some other albums of Numan, "Warriors" was + still is underrated ...
Without any doubt,it contains some remarkable tracks + some of them, like "Love is like Clock Law",will always be one of my favs!!!

An excellent cover, the video works excellently and it very well chosen and put together. I liked the snippet of engineers. It leaves me wishing it was a couple of minutes longer. (Always leave your audience wanting more :) )

Thanks so much for this, Tim! I've been a massive fan of Gary's since his early punk days and looking at your masterpiece covers it's easy to see that you have the same love and respect fo the guy that I have. Keep doing what you're doing. Nobody does it like you. Massive respect! :)

Pretty amazing stuff you've done here. Gary remains in my top three artists of all time that I've enjoyed... and he is by far my favorite solo artist. You've taken some of my favorite of his tracks and given them a real nice twist while still remaining true to the original... Just... wow. :)

I still think this is the best Numan cover I've heard.
A gnat's whisker better than your Music for Chameleons, and head and shoulders above everything else (by anyone).
I still can't decide whether it is better than than Numan's original (same goes for MFC), certainly if you include the videos they both are.
When you come back to making covers, *please* do some more from I, Assassin and Warriors.

... and furthermore I also enjoy the video's nod to a Friend called 5 (is that a coincidence you think?) and the nod to "Engineers" near the end of the song. Glad to hear you are making a CD. Make sure to include a couple of unreleased goodies to encourage people to buy.
Bloody awesome version! You always Numan great justice with your covers. I like the fact that you don't do an exact carbon copy of the original and you bring something new to them. I especially love the 'mashes' you've done. Love it !

Yet another superb cover, Tim which keeps the spirit of the original whilst nicely upating it. Plus, there's a nice nod to Engineers in there too! And even though i hated Sky Captain, this video works nicely. Keep up the great work, mate. : ) Oh and wehn's the CD going to be available?
Fantastic, you really are a wasted talent if you are not in the music business professionally, it's a shame that Numan is so blinkered these days as if he had anything about him he would snap you up right away and get you working with him.......just my opinion Tim......you are an awesome talent my friend.

Just discovered your channel, all brilliant, great spin on all your covers i'm very impressed, May I ask what hardware you use?
Apogee interfaces with Logic Pro X. I don't have any hardware synths anymore but I keep a couple bass guitars around. Not much really. I'm a big fan of Kontakt libraries and the native plug ins that come with Logic.

Great cover but I can't help feeling that the vocals on this track seem to be somehow disconnected from the music.
