For real, like im pretty far into the game. Is this missable? Is this after you go to the capitol? What did i do wrong to miss this? Ive tried doing every quest i see.
It's a sidequest in the new hideaway if you do every green mark you can't miss
It's at Martha's rest before u cross the bridge
So, any guides or videos I find about this, they say "your first mission in Martha's rest" it's not.

I’m guessing all of them. Bahamut, Odin, Leviathan, etc.
Phoenix, Ifrit, Garuda, Lamú, Titan, Bahamut, Shiva and Odin. Leviathan is only mentioned, by some npcs. It seems long time has passed since a dominant of Leviathan has appeared. DLC? Who knows.
Its for some reason not in ff mode at that point in the game
After getting it, I find that I almost never use it. It isn't much faster than the delayed auto-sprint that you have from the beginning, is not summonable in any area you don't also have the delayed auto-sprint, and takes so long to summon and mount that by the time you're on it, you would have been in auto-sprint already. Plus having to hold down R2 against the haptic resistance is tiring.

@@omersezer4005 turns out for me, you just get the Chicobo way later than expected. Got him last night but you have to get to the new hideout to finally get the quest

Mount? So the game is open world? Or maybe semi open world?
Semi open, the maps are basically a mix of large corridors with some larger open areas mixed in. Most of the time it’s a linear go from A to B, but the mount makes it quicker and easier to bypass mobs and get there!
Not at all open world. It's mostly linear with a couple Open areas
