500 animations is crazy 🔥🔥, especially because I’m right now building my own third person controller.

It’s not out yet it said it will release later this year, probably when unreal engine 5.4 comes out which is set to be late April

Thanks for the video. Off topic, I recently finished your melee course and I was wondering can you make a video on a knockback effect? For example when the troll does a big swing it should throw the player backwards or push him slightly if he's got the shield up. Thanks. Can't wait for your next course
Bro, give a negative impulse to the player's solid body while taking damage.
@@ihavetosurvive That didn't work because impulse requires simulate physics to be enabled but Launch Character worked perfectly.
@@mandolorian9893 you can create a state machine. it will have a "Damage" status. And when the character enters this state, turn on the physics simulation, and turn it off at the exit of the state.
it may take a while but I wil note this down thank you for letting me know
@@ihavetosurvive I'll try that. What I did was add "Launch Character" at the end of the Anydamage event and used the follow camera location and rotation to determine push back direction. Next I'm going to try adding a notify to the enemy attacks to determine the direction instead of just pushing the player back
I wish they improved their modelling system to the same level as Maya or Blender and bought Zbrush in order to integrate it into the engine so we can use it for free xDD

@@UnrealUniversity hope so, I have no idea why they are so interested in the motion graphics market instead of giving us better modelling and sculpting systems (at least they are working hard on the animation part, which is great not having to deal with the pain of exporting rigs and animations from other software into it and vice-versa)

My favorite feature is the new realtime clothing simulation, with direct import from Marvelous Designer! The new kinematic collider is 🔥 and makes proper clothing simulation finally possible. I made a quick 5 min video with all the details.

That animation matching system sounds alot like what last of us 2 has used for their smooth anim/gameplay; wonderful. But the problem comes with getting as many different animation variations for just doing same stuff. I dont think indie/small studios might ever use that.

Cool n all but when is Unreal gonna fix their code for low end devices? You exclude a whole userbase with your engine... Infact you exclude around 40% of potential users for games... Primary example is Palworld that really showed how little Unreal can actually perform...
It should stay that way! You need a proper rig(investment) into the technology to creqte something beautiful. Otherwise any lowlife can clutter the industry with already endless souless meaningless games.
