Thank you, in this video you made me realize that it is worth staying with the system that Panasonic offers after all. My first camera from Panasonic - the G80, which I bought a few years ago and is not suitable for vlogging, due to poor autofocus - is still receiving firmware updates. I also have some nice MFT lenses, but wanted to sell everything last month to buy a Sony FX30. I don't know if it's because of all the hype on the internet, or because it just looks cool. What I miss about the Panasonic is a ZV-1 type camera with good autofocus. I tried the GX800, which has a larger sensor, interchangeable lenses and identical size to the ZV-1, but poor autofocus. Same with the G100, supposedly dedicated to vloggers. I'm waiting for a good sale on the Lumix G9II, and I'm still waiting for some small camera that will work as a B cam. So much for my part. As an owner of the FX30, I can say I got it because of the autofocus. To be honest, I prefer the skin tones out of Panasonic and Canon. I agree with you that if Sony' is still selling a specific camera model, they should release firmware update for it. Yes, they anger A7SIII users by giving the Sony ZV E1 better stabilization (Dynamic active stabilization), and other practical new features even though the ZV E1 is cheaper by more than $1,000. On top of that, its hardware specification is 90 percent the same as that of the A7SIII. They are doing this to other models too. This is a deal breaker for many Sony users.
I switched to Lumix from Canon when they released the S1. I had sold all my L glass even after purchasing the Sigma MC-21. Soon as I got my hands on Sigma Art Lens I was sold on the L mount.

A Red, Black Magic Ursa, Arri... That's totally commercial and even cinema level tools. You made the right move for yourself.
I can relate. I also expect camera companies to provide software updates. I remember returning a sony lens because the camera was not updated to support breathing compensation for that lens and it was a new lens just not my camera body because no firmware was released for the camera to support it. Had to go look up the cameras and the lens list on their website. Lost trust in canon and sony myself as well. I kept the gear though, the value quoted was not even worth selling, so yeah. I am with you.
Yes thats to bad, if not anything as you are saying that feature should be there in every of there camera cause if you buy their lenses its breathing bonanza ... thanx for the comment
FX6 has electronic ND build in ... this alone make it worth buying. And they actually updated the firmware 2 times with very major updates - basically with firmware 2.0 FX6 has been reborn :D.
I can understand you totally. I was several time at the point (with my gh 5, although this was a fantastic camera on the other specs excluding AF) to change sides and go to Sony. Always when I looked at the video-specific specs and the layout of the menu and so on at Sony I returned to my Lumix camera (since the gh2). In the end it was worth cause the S5II is the best camera I ever had in my hands.
Same situation here brother, I'm also in process of selling my all Sony gears soon.I'd seen that Sony cameras are giving less value in long run .Sony is less connected with the customers but more connected with their sales team I think, who just read the market stats numbers and push development teams to build new lineup of cameras with features taken from present line of cameras but in different form factor. In this way they make more profit rather than making a new firmware update for present cameras. My biggest issue with Sony was that with every camera they push me to buy new expensive typeA cards else I will have to face overheating in some cameras outside in less than 30 minutes.Stablization and grip cages needs extra gear means more money to buy. So, overall Sony is not that good in long run and does not give value. Autofocus is never required always other than recording yourself. Most important is the color. Sony log video needs more treatment to be color good before delivering your final product to the customers in photo and video both. My customers first pick Canon and Nikon colors, second Lumix and Fujifilm colors as they look filmic. Sony comes last as it look more processed with skin tones without editing.
Thanx for a great comment, I don’t understand why they do this. The Type A thing is interesting, it’s totally overkill if you don’t have high data rates, which Sony doesn’t have!
@@ArberBaqaj Thank you brother for replying. As per my understanding Sony's marketing team focus on selling more units that could be a reason as per me. But per 1 GB data capture with Sony's cameras are much costly to preserve and takes more time to process as well as codecs are misbalanced with their cards systems or they had created an artificial software limit. They better know but other brands give more value in long run for per 1 GB data capture and need very less or no time to process as color science straight is so good and codecs are efficient.
I honestly feel that most companies do this. (hej föresten) Personally I don't care about future updates. On any of my devices. if its a safety thing, sure. But for getting more features and revamped functions. I would prefer that companies sold products that designed with no need to be updated.
Tjena! The thing with software is that even after the product is sold you can enhance it which is great. I a landscape where there are companies improving their products over time, apple, dji, panasonic i think its harder for companies that dont do it. Ha en grym helg!
Thinking about getting the Pixius Blackmagick and lidar which seems to finally be worth it. What camera were you using to film this video bc the Autofocus was bouncing around everywhere?
That combo looks sick! I’m using the Panasonic S5IIx pre firmware update. The pana af has this thing where it wants to track what’s in front of you at times, when that’s gone it’s perfect
This could’ve been a 4 minute video. A business has to do what it needs to do to keep innovating. How long did it take Panasonic to get good autofocus? They had to give software upgrades to make up for the bad autofocus. Panasonic does everything you want from Sony but you still left them. So you cannot please everyone. For people just getting into photo/video then Sony offers fantastic features at lower price points. I shoot both Sony and Fujifilm and own an a7iv. I do agree that it is great to get upgrades but if the next model comes out 2, 3 or 4 years later then I can’t be mad at them. I bought an LG plasma TV 2 years ago and the new models have new features that mine doesn’t have. That’s how things work. Some new features are great and other features are just gimmicky. I will just focus on getting as good with what I have and will upgrade when one of the new features will make a difference in my workflow and not just because it is new.
You are right in some ways. But they still sell the A7s3, that’s what makes it crazy, your new tv will be discontinued a year later or sold at Best Buy for half the price, the A7s3 is getting sold today, by Sony. Without discount. Big difference
Just admit it you wanted new camera so you sold the old one :D. What is better about S5IIX than A7S3 offers? Open Gate? IBIS? For sure not low light performance.
@@breakfastforyousoul but slower frame rates, even 50p is cropped and worse low light performance. So there are trade offs. Not saying S5IIX is bad camera, I had it and it was great, but it's hard to say it's better than A7S3 ... it might be better for some, but worse for other folks. Also good anamorphic support is a pro for S5IIX and possibility to load LUTs!
Looking for Nikon z8 and sell my a7siii , knowing I can use my Sony lenses with z8 and not losing autofocus . Same price and with more advance options 8k and internal raw. News updates from Sony totals disappointed at least for A7iv .
Let me get this straight, you're upset Sony not giving you updates like they have in newer cameras but also mad they're "making the same cameras with minor differences in new housing? With all due respect, your reason for leaving not making sense.
just buy the camera you want/can afford and use it untill you get sick of it or it breaks. dont buy a camera and think about selling it at the same time. dont fall for the urge to upgrade. its all good enough... less frustration this way ;)
well despite I agree with what your saying, I do have a different opinion. Your right, Sony should compete with other brands and offer better firmware support for there cameras. But, for me, whats more important is what camera inspires me to create, what camera makes me want to use it creatively. Im a hobbyiest which is probably why thats so important, but i recently picked up a camera, and it was between the panasonic s52x, the sony zv e1 or the sony fx30. After doing my research, each of these would fit my needs and all able to delivery high enough quality for my liking. Can you guess which one I picked? I picked the Sony fx30, yes i chose this apsc camera over the full frame ones. Why? Because theres something about the fx30/fx3 build, feel and look that makes me want to pick it up and create. The panasonic, i cant stand that type of body thats been used for every camera for the past 20 years and the zv e1 looks and feeks like a toy. I absolutley love my song fx30, even if the other two technically would be better because of the full frame, the image from the fx30 is stunning and obviously ive got a nice upgrade path the the fx3. Maybe if i was doing professional work id feel differently but as a hobbiest thats how I feel about cameras. Research and narrow down a selection of cameras that fit your needs and good enough quality, then pick the one that most inspires you to turn it on and create
I totally understand your choice! Industrial design i so important. I on the other hand could not have a camera without a viewfinder. I use it evertime i shoot. But I agree! I love the look and the formfactor of the FX30 and the FX3.
I agree with you. There is another problem with Sony. The build quality is not good so they fail a lot. In fact there are several issues which means that all Sonys will fail eventually. I've had a number of problems. I'm looking at Lumix now. I've had it with Sony. Fortunately we now have more choice. Sony does not have such a monopoly with mirrorless now.
@@ArberBaqaj It's true, no camera is perfect. I subscribed to your channel long time ago. You're doing a great job. That is what matters for me the most. Real UA-camrs real people.. thank you for the video!
Vey true Arber, I feel exactly the same way. I left Canon many years ago because of their cripple hammer, and went to Sony because they represented much better value (at the time). I now feel that Sony have gained their market share and are now doing exactly what Canon has done. I have a lot of Sony gear, but I feel they have deserted their customers to fatten their bulging bottom line. I am sitting back waiting and watching at the moment trying to decide if I should also leave Sony for Panasonic. Hopefully Panasonic will release a new hi-res camera with phase detect soon.
I thought you were Panasonic? ...I think you were before since I watched a bunch of your videos. I use to shoot GH5, loved that camera! As you know Arber cause I think you did shoot GH5 as well right? ...the low light & AF were both a concern. I made the jump to Sony finally and full-frame. Panasonic menu system just works better for me but I am use to Sony now. I owned the A1 & A7Siii. I did not think it was cool newer less expensive no flagship Sony cameras had some better features than their higher price models, that did not seem right from a business point of view. Sony had their reasons for doing what they did. I do understand it is not always as super easy doing a firmware update like some might think. For video for example the A7Siii and FX3 are both beast of cameras even without the firmware update the update of course makes them better. Lots and lots of people who owned Sony cameras, invested in Sony complained and complained expressing their unhappiness with Sony business practice in terms of updates for some of it camera models. Sure I can understand people saying, I have had enough in terms of waiting 3+ years and Sony gear is more expensive no doubt. I get all my Sony gear at a discount otherwise I more than likely would have stayed with Panasonic or went with Fuji since I love their color science. Sony eventually got the message from their customers and made the adjustment they should have done before. Sometimes it takes people pushing and enough people pushing for a change to happen. Some might fall off as you did Arber and how could anyone blame you. I suppose at the end of the day Sony is a very big company and I know they are not so much in business for me, they are in business for the masses. DJI for example has what I and many other people probably feel is the right idea with firmware updates and listening to their customers. I do believe Sony learned its lesson with feedback and pushback It got from so many. Too bad it is too late for you Arber at the moment. Panasonic has indeed stepped up so I think you will be fine with them.
Honestly I dont have a skin in the game. I use a lot of cameras but yes Panasonic has been one of the brands I use. The Gh5 is a killer! Its probably the camera I have made most videos with =) I agree that DJI are doing exactly what everybody should do! I do not think Sony have learned their lesson. I think they are going to keep doing what they do. Have a great day my friend!
Ha ha, some truth to that, how ever My love for Panasonic is not unconditional, they give us all the features we need at a great price point and that’s a big reason to why I believe they will grow a lot in the future :) thanx for a great and probably true comment
First, if you buy Panasonic, you're still buying Sony sensors. Secondly, ZV-E1 doesn't even output raw over HDMI, why are you comparing it with A7S3/FX3?
A camera is so much more then the sensor. its like sayng everything is made from plastic so its all the same! Not quite =) Zv-e1 has almost the same specs and had more features than both the a7s3, fx3 and the a1 at a fraction of the cost.
I don’t believe it would matter, the know exactly what they are doing. The Canon R5C is a perfect example, what is that small ass battery and those hard to work with codecs?
Your are ranting and they are all about the same until you move to RED and ARRI and maybe even Blackmagic at this point. Really comes down to if you need Autofocus or not. Now that there is a decent Lidar system, Blackmagic seems to be the next step up.. I always loved Blackmagic but need autofocus for 90% of my projects.
Yeah, Sony just sell you the camera and if you want new features buy the new one which has them :D. Although before Panasonic has been known for paid updates (like VLOG one), now they are doing great job with firmware updates. But I'm invested to much into Sony E mount eco system, so it's not viable to switch to Panasonic which is 10% better in some regards :D - thus after having S5IIX for 11 months I've sold it because have only 1 AF lens for it :(.
All of these companies do the same after a while..profit over estabilshed customers .. same will happen with Panasonic as well...they are oblivious to reality...which is not good when the future of cameras are on the line anyway ...
You are probably right! When that day comes I will vote with my wallet and go for something else, something tells me Blackmagic got the right intentions
S5ii/x are hot garbage cameras. They lose half their value after you purchase. Just sold mine. The new sensor is trash in low light and artificial light. The magenta wash is terrible, I’ve actually never seen good s5iix footage anywhere on the internet. The s5 mark 1 and s1 blow these out of the water, not even close.
Moire is awful, ibis even worse, super jumpy. 4k 60 crop is limiting, the hdmi lag so bad, rolling shutter, so bad. It takes great still images. I would say the preamps are probably the best in its class
Totally different level of image on the S5,(lower level.) The sensor he is hating on starts at 45mp before quad bayering back down to 12. That would be a lot of fuss if you don't value the payoff. S5 is prob a perfect compromise for people that just need to shoot videograpghy and NOT cinematography or compete with crazy pro budgets.
That’s stange, did you get a faulty unit or something, I’ve never seen more from my S5 so that’s strange, the rolling shutter you are right about. It could be better and the hdmi-lag. It’s a strange Panasonic querk that should be adressed. Low light is not A7s3 lever but more then good enough :)
Like this video to support Arber Baqaj and spread it to every Sony camera users to push this video towards Sony. A great and necessary initiative by @Arber Baqaj.

True!! Built in ND-Filters are great!
Rather get the c70
I can understand you totally. I was several time at the point (with my gh 5, although this was a fantastic camera on the other specs excluding AF) to change sides and go to Sony. Always when I looked at the video-specific specs and the layout of the menu and so on at Sony I returned to my Lumix camera (since the gh2). In the end it was worth cause the S5II is the best camera I ever had in my hands.
Yes I can’t understand why Sony does this, yes the S5II is a beast :)
Solid points, Arber! Really interesting to hear your perspective 👌
Thanx mate!
I honestly feel that most companies do this. (hej föresten)
Personally I don't care about future updates.
I'm still at the color grade of the video :D
Ha ha ha
I dont like new cameras. Honestly. I just want the things that I have to do what I want. And yes sometimes that makes me get new cameras.
@@ArberBaqaj So what is better in S5II than A7IV and A7SIII?
The Sony has too much NR built in. I never want to shoot 12,800
@@JoATTech stabalization and no overheating, built in fan and more video assist tools, better price and better firmware updates.
The Z8 looks like a beast, I haven’t tried Nikon at all since the D90 days but on spec it sure looks sweet!
Let me get this straight, you're upset Sony not giving you updates like they have in newer cameras but also mad they're "making the same cameras with minor differences in new housing? With all due respect, your reason for leaving not making sense.
The A7s3, Fx3 and the zv - e1 are the same camera, and as said in the video, they are still selling the a7s3 new,
just buy the camera you want/can afford and use it untill you get sick of it or it breaks. dont buy a camera and think about selling it at the same time. dont fall for the urge to upgrade. its all good enough... less frustration this way ;)
Very right!!
well despite I agree with what your saying, I do have a different opinion.
Thats really unfortunate. I have a friend that had a similar problem.
team LUMIX here 😁
No company’s is perfect but Sony (and Canon) is straight trayfelling
Thats exactly how I feel as well!
That's because you have always been a Panasonic Lumix lover, just like me Arber. :)
Ha ha, some truth to that, how ever My love for Panasonic is not unconditional, they give us all the features we need at a great price point and that’s a big reason to why I believe they will grow a lot in the future :) thanx for a great and probably true comment
@@ArberBaqaj I have followed for some time since the Panasonic Lumix GH5. :)
I hope @sony and @canon watch this video! Spot on
I don’t believe it would matter, the know exactly what they are doing. The Canon R5C is a perfect example, what is that small ass battery and those hard to work with codecs?
You are right, I sold my Sony a1 because of the same thing
Thats such a bummer to hear!
The Nikon z9 had 5 major updates
To be fair it lacked a lot of features on launch but they have defentily delivered since!
Blackmagic is a killer brand, I use them a lot but for Yuotube, for everything else they are great!
I think you are right !
Thanx my friend!!
A7iv is my first and last Sony.
I really liked it but I lost my faith in sony so it had to go.
I totally understand your point. Thats the thing with cameras. You invest a lot in lenses as well =)
Tja! Älskar din kanal!
You're ranting!
3 years and 20k later does that to a man! 😂
@@hhankxyou lost me at IBIS is worse
Like this video to support Arber Baqaj and spread it to every Sony camera users to push this video towards Sony. A great and necessary initiative by @Arber Baqaj.
Thanx my friend, I don’t think it will help though, many creators have complained similarly with no results, these are well thought out businesses decisions unfortunately :)
