this show is originally called vikingane bassicly called the vikings. they shot the show twice both in norwegian and english same scenes with slight differences. same scenes.
Haha this show is gold, you should also see the show Dag, which is just as funny and dark but also a brilliant case study of different psychological archetypes. Also yes please continue!
I am Norwegian, and I watched the English version myself. (I shortly checked how the Norwegian version matched up, and it's the same) Edit:Just adding a bit extra. The "Three Two One, No one else can come!" counts the other way in Norwegian. "En To Tre, Ingen flere med!"
I think "holmgang" very literally translates to "islet walk". Two men with a grudge walk out on an islet (holm), only one man walks back. If you forfeit the "holmgang" challenge, you were a coward and could in worst case be banished from the land.
Or the hardcore version, where they rowed them to a small, secluded islet, having only the clothes on their back and a knife each, and left them alone for a few days.

Many of the Norwegian actors star in Lilyhammer (TV Series 2012-2014), if you haven't seen that, then you must.
Personell management and HSE in the time of vikings was hard 😂
11:40 Trond Fausa Aurvåg appears in the Oppenheimer film as George Kistiakowski.

The norvegian version is funnier ,, a lot of the jokes dont translate taht well in to english so some of the realy good frases get lost in traslation

Hell, now I have to re-watch the whole thing. :D
I'm just sad there's no more seasons of it :(
I actually believe it was recorded twice, once in English and once in Norwegian. If I remember things correctly...
Norsemen is very well worth watching...I would say, go to ep 2. :)
Episode 2 is coming tonight at 6pm 😊
Pref English version.
Prefer the Norwegian version. The purpously bad English accents are hilarious at first, but they get a bit tiresome after a while. Funny show though.
