I’ve had multiple seizures over the last 2 years and honestly I can’t wait to get an Apple Watch that fall detection would put my mind at ease. I’m terrified of randomly having a seizure and being in a place where no one can hear me or see me.
With the always on display, what Apple should do is make the time on the watch always displayed and when you raise the watch the complications will appear, then disappear when you lower it

as a fellow lefty and apple watch owner, and i’m sure you probably already know this, but i’ll say it anyway. you can turn the screen the other way in the apple watch app so that the crown is on your left instead of your right, i find it much easier to use the crown when i need to. just thought it might be a good thing to know in case you didn’t :)

I agree, this is probably the best product Apple has released in a while. The only reason I won't buy an Apple watch is because I love my Amazfit Stratos (cost me $150). It has detailed sleep tracking, built in GPS, sports tracking, fully water proof up to 5 atmosphere/164 feet, gets notifications & 3-5 day battery life. I can't give that up for a nice looking screen and extra smart features. But it is a damn good looking Apple watch.
As a disabled fatty living on my own, I am getting this just and entirely (mostly) for the fall detection. I walk with a cane, so being able to check where the bus is going if stuck standing, or checking my groceries while walking are just a bonus.
Well, you can get an app called "AutoSleep" that track your sleep, automatically, all you have to do is install it. The app works pretty awesome and its syncs with apple health. Been using it since apple watch 3 was released. Highly recommended.
Sure, install another app, while it should've been a basic inbuilt feature, just like buying that fast charge powerbrick, or, buying that double dongle lightning adaptor....classic Apple lol

I think Spotify can simply make that onebut apple may be blocking it. Why? Because of apple music competition. If you have apple music, music can be stored in the watchs memory so you can use it as an mp3 player IF you have the airpods. So if you're a user of this watch you would rather subscribe to Apple music.
certainly wouldn't be the first time apple's blocked potentially competitive products (e.g. their restrictions on having buyable products on iOS devices without giving apple their cut) on my Gear, Spotify lets me download songs on the internal 4gb storage but the app is pretty buggy and I prefer Google Music over spotify so it hasn't done much to draw me in
Not going to upgrade my watch, but I will say I use it way more than I thought I would and even though the health tracking isn't as accurate, not wearables really are, but it's consistent so it gives me an idea of where I am for the day so I've found it incredibly useful.
I'm in the market for a new android watch but there's just nothing interesting out there right now! I'd probably buy an apple watch at this point if they ever made it work with Android phones

Kevin Spelar here is the thing with the Apple Watches, all of them, unlike a phone, once you take it off your hand it just shuts off in a way, hence you have to add password again, and all the current features of GPS and other etc.. it wouldn’t be something Apple will be implementing for a while, maybe next design, so watch 6 or 7 🤔 but idk I’m not a sidekick 🤗

The Apple Watch is ultimately what finally got me to get my first iPhone. I use it for audiobooks and swimming and I think it’s totally a game-changer. Side note, there’s some really great 3rd party apps for sleep tracking that automatically export all your sleep data right into your health app.
Mr. Locke I have a Serie 2. When I reach home, I charge my Watch. During the night, I use Sleep Watch with the theatre mode... and guess what? when I wake up (5:15 am to go to fitness, the Watch is still at 100%)
I'm an EKG Technician. The machine I use is fairly recent, came out in about 2014 I would say, and it's the size of a small end table. I have 10 two inch stickers (called electrodes in the hospital) that I need to put onto someone. I need to attach each electrode to: each arm, each leg, one on each side of the sternum, and four more on the left rib cage. Even on the presentation they showed, there was a fair bit of artifact (which is just irregular bumps on the EKG print out, most caused by uncertainty of the machine) and I'm assuming that was one of the best EKGs they could get with the watch. I really don't see any doctors using this as confirmation of A-Fib or of really any heart disease/cardiac events. However, I'm not a doctor so it's hard to say for sure.
It was approved by the FDA and recommended by the American Heart Association. It probably isn't as accurate as your machine, but much better value and doesn't need a dedicated operator.

Aaron Hellmann I’m betting the docs will look at the AppleWatch EKG and then order a traditional EKG. You certainly aren’t going to be out of work because of it.
This is a 1 channel ecg. There are a lot of them on the market for years, most of them are for event monitoring. The one we use locally a lot is called wiwe, you put a left and right finger on it, and you get a pqrst graph. This is basically the same, you need to use both hands in this case too. We hand out a wiwe for patients for a week or two, if they have abnormal rhythm problems rarely. I had the same problem, normally once in 2-3 weeks or so my heart goes crazy for 30-40 minutes, and after that no problem at all. We measured it under load and did ultrasound exam too, nothing abnormal was there. With an event monitor like this can decide if the patient needs medicine only, or a surgery. But that's all. If you need more than a basic pqrst graph, you will need a proper ecg. This is not good for prevention either, as it can not monitor you 0/24 (you need both hands). The only possible use for it, if you feel strange you can confirm there is something bad happening with your heart... But in this case it is better to go to a doctor asap...

Just got mine. 40 mm, upgraded from series 3, wanted a little bigger face and I'm really glad so far, hope it's worth the extra money for the data. The 3 was pretty neat though. Enjoying the speed, just hope the battery is good. Thanks for the review. Really good.

WRONG! It does have a sleep feature built into the Health app and made better using the Autosleep app. I use it every night to track my sleep function. You may want to put it and your phone into "do not disturb" mode or every notification will wake you. One thing missing that I would like is to be able to block robocalls. I have certain spam callers blocked on my phone and now they are calling on my watch. The big sell for me was the ECG function and the fall function as I'm not getting younger lol

on my Gear, Spotify lets me download songs on the internal 4gb storage but the app is pretty buggy and I prefer Google Music over spotify so it hasn't done much to draw me in

Not going to upgrade my watch, but I will say I use it way more than I thought I would and even though the health tracking isn't as accurate, not wearables really are, but it's consistent so it gives me an idea of where I am for the day so I've found it incredibly useful.
I already sold my AW S2 to buy and upgrade to AW S4, I think it's a huge upgrade!!

Kevin Spelar here is the thing with the Apple Watches, all of them, unlike a phone, once you take it off your hand it just shuts off in a way, hence you have to add password again, and all the current features of GPS and other etc.. it wouldn’t be something Apple will be implementing for a while, maybe next design, so watch 6 or 7 🤔 but idk I’m not a sidekick 🤗

The Apple Watch is ultimately what finally got me to get my first iPhone. I use it for audiobooks and swimming and I think it’s totally a game-changer. Side note, there’s some really great 3rd party apps for sleep tracking that automatically export all your sleep data right into your health app.

I'm an EKG Technician. The machine I use is fairly recent, came out in about 2014 I would say, and it's the size of a small end table. I have 10 two inch stickers (called electrodes in the hospital) that I need to put onto someone. I need to attach each electrode to: each arm, each leg, one on each side of the sternum, and four more on the left rib cage. Even on the presentation they showed, there was a fair bit of artifact (which is just irregular bumps on the EKG print out, most caused by uncertainty of the machine) and I'm assuming that was one of the best EKGs they could get with the watch. I really don't see any doctors using this as confirmation of A-Fib or of really any heart disease/cardiac events. However, I'm not a doctor so it's hard to say for sure.
It was approved by the FDA and recommended by the American Heart Association. It probably isn't as accurate as your machine, but much better value and doesn't need a dedicated operator.

Aaron Hellmann I’m betting the docs will look at the AppleWatch EKG and then order a traditional EKG. You certainly aren’t going to be out of work because of it.
This is a 1 channel ecg. There are a lot of them on the market for years, most of them are for event monitoring. The one we use locally a lot is called wiwe, you put a left and right finger on it, and you get a pqrst graph. This is basically the same, you need to use both hands in this case too. We hand out a wiwe for patients for a week or two, if they have abnormal rhythm problems rarely. I had the same problem, normally once in 2-3 weeks or so my heart goes crazy for 30-40 minutes, and after that no problem at all. We measured it under load and did ultrasound exam too, nothing abnormal was there. With an event monitor like this can decide if the patient needs medicine only, or a surgery. But that's all. If you need more than a basic pqrst graph, you will need a proper ecg. This is not good for prevention either, as it can not monitor you 0/24 (you need both hands). The only possible use for it, if you feel strange you can confirm there is something bad happening with your heart... But in this case it is better to go to a doctor asap...

WRONG! It does have a sleep feature built into the Health app and made better using the Autosleep app. I use it every night to track my sleep function. You may want to put it and your phone into "do not disturb" mode or every notification will wake you.
One thing missing that I would like is to be able to block robocalls. I have certain spam callers blocked on my phone and now they are calling on my watch. The big sell for me was the ECG function and the fall function as I'm not getting younger lol
