He said that in retrospect having him, a black man, dancing in the crack of a gigantic artificial butt maybe wasn't such a good idea. In his words, "I looked like a dancing turd". The song is a classic though, and definitely inspired many others, as you noticed along the way.
This still hits 30 years later. Who didn't like this song back then. Sure it got played out really quick but it never really lost was made it so iconic. I don't care what people say he's a goat. He didn't make a ton of music but the stuff he did make was really unique.
