Masters - the top seeds play only 5 matches and it's only 3 sets. So in Masters, even a lesser talented player can win it or due to some surprise exits. Both Madrid and Montreal had surprise semifinalists.
I know Korda had a long week in Washington and there’s been a ton of stop and go ALL day long which has to be exhausting but the real Korda stood right up against Popyrin. Even though Korda isn’t exactly Roger Federer on serve, being up a break TWICE in the 1st set only to get broken both times and then eating a monstrous 7-0 bagel in the breaker (rarely seen). Now if that was most top 25 players, they maybe take a bathroom break to regroup or at least try to cool Popyrin down, who was returning like prime Djokovic, Korda IMMEDIATELY jumps off of his chair and promptly gets broken. After that when he wasn’t really making any inroads on Popyrin’s serve, he basically quit (while serving, down only one break) and handed Popyrin a love break and a spot in the final. IMO you have to make Popyrin serve it out. He’s never made a stage this large and nerves could’ve definitely kicked in. Again, most players in the top 25 hold there and make Popyrin serve it out. But Sebastian Korda isn’t like other top 25 players. If he was, he’d be closer to a top 12-15 player. He avoided doing it the last couple weeks (that Washington title was a gift. Cobolli is a very good up and coming player but he played till like 3 AM the night before and just had nothing left in that 3rd set against Korda) and showed an especially new side against Fritz and Zverev (who, to be fair, were both adjusting to their first hardcourt tournament since early April) and also dealing with apparently difficult balls to control (Korda had a full week playing with these balls on a North American hardcourt. That’s an advantage. I know Rublev played and lost early in DC but I think Popyrin skipped the Olympics as well). Korda is still young but his game leaves so much to be desired. Breaks down from both wings in neutral rallies way, WAY too often. Misses sitting 2nd serve returns WAY too often, should be getting more out of his serve at his size and needs to be better at pulling the trigger when he gets the chance (Taylor Fritz has become maybe top 3 in the world at doing this. That might sound like a stretch but I’m being completely serious. Fritz will rally with you on neutral balls and then, from either wing, as soon as you give him a ball he can attack he can do anything with it. He can go cross court from both wings and down the line from both wings). Korda isn’t nearly as good as Fritz but Fritz wasn’t this good a couple of years ago. Korda has a lot of positives but until he irons out the negatives the only way he’s getting to the semis of a Masters 1000 is a scenario like this: With a lot of players not playing due to the Olympics being last week and players who were just playing on clay days ago having to play on hardcourt with different balls while Korea has been playing on the surface with the same balls for a full week before most of the top 10.

He just physically and mentally clocked out.
but well done to popyrin for pushing korda in the 1st set.
Korda shat his pants lmao 😂
That's some Zverev level choke
You could argue Popyrin choked as well before the tie break.
One of the baes...Popyrin
So odd why Rublev's box would say Vamos instead of Russian equivalent? Anyway good performance from him
Arnaldi is a challenger level player just fast legs. He should be feeling like he won a lottery for reaching semis.
I too noticed, he has no tactics, just trying do whatever he thinks is right at that moment.
Popyrin popping off 😂
why was arnaldi so salty?
He always is I was expecting this before I clicked on the video
It would make sense to upload the videos at normal speed, not speeded up a bit like this.
Several times in this match, Arnaldi chases down a ball and does a kind of Djokovich "split" to retrieve it. To me, this always seems like a desperate shot. Wouldn't it be just as quick to take the extra running step and retrieve that ball so you're not stuck in an awkward split?
Korda needs to inject some pace or aggression in his game. Take abit of risk when necessary. Same pace all the way and no surprises and thus no threat..
When bweh is on you're gone
Finally,The cursed dress of Rublev has brought happiness to him.........🎉
Arnaldi with such a displeased face😁
No cip and no sprite boxes
Go Rubloooo
Korda obviously disappointed but still main favourite for US Open
Korda, the poor man's Leo Borg.
I just realized Rublev just doesn’t do drop shots
He doesnt need drop shots....he needs good net game.... atleast net game is more important than drop shots for progress of his game....
Arnaldi playing junior level tennis, how old is he.
So we will have an all-Slav final, no?
Lol it's gonna be a slav fest
POPPY 🇦🇺 🐐 😭
Why vamos?
ダブルヘッダーはやめるべき
Worst tournament of the year 2 matches in one day what a shame
rain delays ruined the schedule, they did the best they could
The final is the result of this schedule anyway. When this happens, the winner is often an outsider... One entire life chance
Canada has had poor final lineups for years. Djokovic hasn't gone in years and other players don't go either or don't perform. Has been probably the worst masters on tour for the last 4 years at least
WTA handshake from poor arnaldi 😂
All those rain delays are helping Rublev calm the fuck down during his matches 🤣
Good job Popyrin
Matches has no high cuality like s.f
WHen I watch Arnaldi, what comes to mind is "De Minaur, but with actually good technique on all his shots, unlike Alex"
yet much slower much worse returner and much less conistent than de minaur
@@VladRadu-tq1pg true can't argue with you there
@@StewNWThow come de minaur beat arnaldi 6-3 6-0 6-3
