Great idea. Just a thought, it might be nice to stamp with a sentiment ie "With Love" or something before embossing so it doesn't look so plain. Thanks for the tip x
I try to track down 1mm fun foam and put that in, if I have sequins. Dollar tree used to sell it, but no longer. Amazon does tho. A bit more money. Some of my peeps like mom and sil will actually save fun foam and give it back when they see me.
I started using a piece of paper to cover the inside and outside after I saw the damage the PO does. But I love the embossing idea even better! Thank you for sharing this! 🌴😎
Cool idea! I make cards for my friends and family, and have to mail them in special "puffy" envelopes, which are rather expensive. This is better, and way cheeper! Thanks! ~Janet in Canada
I use bubble wrap for 3d decoupage or even simpler, turn card inside out.Done this for decades. Or make a good box envelope, if the card is worth making its worth spending the money on the mail. !
Great tip!! So when I have a bumpy card, I’ll pay extra and have the post office mark it as non machinable. Are you saying you don’t have to do this when you add that embossed cardstock? That’s WONDERFUL!!
Yes, that's how it has worked for me so far - no extra postage; however, my cards are not usually very thick. Thickness and lots of layers would make a difference. So glad you enjoyed the tip. Hope you're able to find it useful.
Wonderful tip! Pair your technique with an A6 envelope instead of an A2, & that's a perfect way to protect your work. Sometimes for those extra special cards I'll get a colorful padded mailer from the Dollar Store and pay the extra $$ to mail it.
Good idea. I’ve also used the waxy piece of paper that comes with the labels for my stamps. I cut it in half. It’s thin and provides a little protection. It’s not as pretty as the embossed idea though. 😊
Great tip. Like others I often use plain paper. I'll now emboss a few and will add a little sentiment too as someone suggested this. Kind regards Jackie M 😊
Thank you for covering this topic. I like to mail cards, usually with embellishments, but when doing so, increases the price (sometimes). I`'ve never seen anyone covering this topic. Very helpful!!!
This is something I will have to try. I have used bubble wrap cut from envelopes or the fibrous sheets that come in some packages, but this looks easier.
I'm glad you found the tip helpful. I have actually taken sending the card as an opportunity to reach out via text or call a few times and told them about it after they let me know the card was received! Everyone has simply stated that it was a great idea and pretty paper - LOL
I use to do this but this Christmas I just turned the card inside out so the diamonties don't get scraped with the address reader I received a return to sender one and the card was still gpod
Great tip! I also use an old tool called a crimper. It does a great job protecting a card.
That’s a great way to protect your cards!
Ohhh I have one of those, I have to Remember that
Great tip. I have used plain paper before, but I can see where the embossed paper would be better to cover up embellished cards.
I'm so glad you found it helpful!
Thankyou.
You're welcome! Thank you for being here at the channel.
I cut a piece of bubble wrap and use that with no extra cost to post both here in Australia and also to the UK.
That's great! If no bubble wrap is available, though, you could give the embossing a go!
Same. Works a charm.
@@shawnahess557 So great that you found a solution that works well for you!

That's a great idea! I'll have to try that.
Great idea!
Clever idea! Wouldn’t have thought of it on my own.

That's so nice of your mom and SIL to help you out like that! They must love getting cards from you!
Awesome tip. I always use just a piece of card stock. Never thought of embossing it. I'll do that going forward. Thank you for you tips.
I'm so glad you found it helpful! You'll love the added protection of a little embossing.
This is a great tip! I have had to pay extra postage because the card had to be hand sorted due to bumps from embellishments. This is great! Thanks
Oh no! Glad you found this helpful!
Great tip! I also cut bubble mailers I receive into 4 x 5.25 pieces and use the to pad my card fronts.
I'm glad you found a solution that works for you!
I think your idea is great 👍 will be using this now too!
Glad it was helpful! It's always nice to have more than one way to do something.

I have been putting a piece of card stock in but never thought to emboss it first. Thanks for the tip! I’m from Western PA! 😊
I'm happy you found the tip useful! We're practically neighbors!!
Thanks for the tip. Sometimes I have turned my card inside out and mailed it that way.
I haven't tried turning the card inside out, but I'm glad you've found a way to protect your cards! And I'm also glad you found this tip helpful.

Padded mailers work well for well-embellished cards. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome tip! Thank you! I can’t resist using embellishments so this will come in handy!😊
You're welcome! Embellishments are so much fun. 😊
Good idea. Could use old retired colored card stock colors.
Great idea!

I’m glad you found that helpful! Any protection is better than none!
I’ve added a folded 20 lb printer paper cut to size which is light weight. Thanks for your tip.
That’s a great idea - thanks for sharing!
great tip, I mail all my cards and have a small scale to make sure I don't need that extra oz. stamp added. tfs.
Great idea!

I have always run a piece of scrap card stock through my crimper to add to cards I mail. Great tip!
That's a great idea! And it's awesome you use the crimper!
What a great tip, thank you!

I do that all the time, never cost me extra. I do not emboss but that's a good idea and extra pretty.

Thk u for that tip. I have covered with the skinniest foam sheet and I'm charged extra. So I'm going to try this.
Glad you found it helpful! So sorry that you were charged extra.

Awesome! Thank you! And welcome!
This is something I will have to try. I have used bubble wrap cut from envelopes or the fibrous sheets that come in some packages, but this looks easier.

I've been using thin bubble wrap that comes in packaging like envelopes from Amazon.
That works too! But the embossing is a fun alternative.
Great idea! Thanks!
You bet!
I cut up those foam mailers into rectangles to pad the cards. It doesn’t cost anymore to mail my cards.
I'm glad you've found a solution that works for you!
Good idea. Maybe could use a folded up piece of tissue paper.
Glad you found it helpful! Yes, we all need to do what will work for us!
That's a wonderful idea. I'm just wondering if the recipient will understand why that extra piece of card is there.
I'm glad you found the tip helpful. I have actually taken sending the card as an opportunity to reach out via text or call a few times and told them about it after they let me know the card was received! Everyone has simply stated that it was a great idea and pretty paper - LOL

Oh no, that's terrible! I'm glad the card was still good, though!
My post office charges me more cause it’s too thick they say so another sheet of plain paper won’t work - thanks anyway fir your video.
That's too bad! I hope you find a way to keep your cards safe!
Definitely prettier than bubblewrap or plain cardstock on top of a nice card.
True! We all want our cards to arrive looking nice!
