How business analyst interview should be conducted and what are the main requirements of a interview from a BA that makes them eligible for the post. In short the interviewer is asking interviewee to not tell that I worked in the liasion, I gathered requirements etc because these are all theoretical answers and they wants to know the business purpose of the project and what he learnt from his/her experiences.
For example- the business purpose of Amazon is to retain customers and coming up with a mechanism to decrease customer defection. So they had to build a executive dashboard which focuses on customer satisfaction,star rating etc. So the executers can take decision faster and easily.
Another similar example is of Morgan Stanley their purpose is to decrease customer defection and increase customer retention. in order to accomplish this they built key performance indicators for customer service rep, net profit vs net revenue etc.
So you should give them a business purpose rather than a theoretical answers if you do this it will look very professional and the interviewer can understand that how you have worked and understand how things work on a high level.
